New to the itunes game....help!
I just bought a new computer and would like to put my existing itunes library on my new computer.
How do I do it ?
Hi,
If you have an iPod, then follow this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
Also check this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93063
Or you may use a CD to copy all the songs from the old computer to the new computer.
Post back if you have any questions.

You should have been syncing your contacts with your computer all along.

i live in a home with two other people, and one housemate tried to sync up his content from iTunes and iCloud onto another housemate's new iPad. the iTunes library only contains my content. is there any way to retrieve the other person's iCloud? Can they go out of my account? Their content is saved on their iPads, but can another iCloud be on the same home computer?

When I click on my icon to open iTunes a box appears that states: The file "iTunesLibrary.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Help!
Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

I had to uninstall iTunes because when I connected my ipod and was in that file and clicked on music to add songs that file was empty. Once I downloaded iTunes again a box appeared that said The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes..............so then I unistalled iTunes and downloaded again 4 different times and got the same message each time. I am using a laptop Windows Vista 64 bit system...please help
I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes. You make it sound like it was sent to you. At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it. However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible. iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer. So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message. One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version. Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers. The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

I need the itunes on my desktop (PC_)Hi there, to authorize a computer, you open up itunes, and at the very very top lefthand corner, there will be a little window. Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! Hope I helped, ~Samuel

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Since yesterday I have been trying to get my iTunes to allow me to sync my iPhone with it to get the latest update. However, once I finally managed to download it iTunes would now allow for it to sync, telling me I needed the 64 bit iTunes which I already had and had downloaded at least 4 times trying to get it to work.
I followed someone elses advice and uninstalled all apple products and went to reinstall it and now I am getting the following message.
The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? And possibly even my other problem with the inability to sync my iPhone with iTunes?
Thank you.no one?

What is considered 'new' in the iTunes bookstore?
Last week, all three of my ebooks were accepted and I can see them on the iTunes Bookstore, but only when searching specifically for their names or authors.
I would expect to see them in the 'new' category as well, but they're not listed.
Does anyone know what qualifies an eBook as new?
(I've seen several books on in the new category with the same publish dates as mine.)As far as I can tell from calling in - the 'new' area in the iTunes bookstore is not where you will find the newest books. That area holds featured ebooks. In order to get your ebook featured, you must go through your iTunes Connect portal and submit your book to be featured.
Once you submit your ebook, it spends time in review. How long? No idea. They contact you if your ebook is featured.
Hope this helps someone.
