New to this SAP BI/BO

Hi All,
I have done my graduation in 2010 and started my career in Supply Chain in the same year. Then my personal interest i got the chance to work in VB.Net platform. This month i moved to BI/BO Monitoring project because of Internal Job change.
Now i am afraid that whether i have chosen the correct field for my career growth because i don't know about the SAP BI/BO.
I am more than interested in coding part (SAP ABAP) but i don't know whether they'll move myself to that.
Can you please help me to know about the career growth in SAP BI/BO (advantages & disadvantages) , learning opportunity and clarify that whether i have chosen the right path?

Creating a new column in SAP reports

I need to add a new column in, Financials --> Financial Reports --> Accounting --> General Ledger. When I try to create a column, it says Column already exists.
Kindly advise me if it is possible to add new columns in SAP reports.

you can't add a column to a system matrix using UIAPI - the only way is to add a userdefined field

Issues while creating new user in SAP HANA

Hello Team
When i am trying to create a new user in SAP HANA studio i can see that there has been a new field added of DATA validity where there are two options a) Valid From and b)Valid Unitl . No matter whatever dates i give in this i got this error which creating the user . Status :- inactive
Reason :- outside validity period . PFA screen shot attached below . Please suggest what dates should be given in this field with some sample example .

Try this. Execute the following in a SQL window started by a userid that has been granted the USER ADMIN system privilege:
ALTER USER BODS1 VALID FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER;
You can use a date instead of FOREVER --- '2016-12-31 23:59'.

u can create icon by two diffferent ways,
1. By setting PF status in Application ToolBar
set pf-status 'Test' . Double Click on the 'Test' and select proper options for ur customised scenario
2. The another way is using FunctionModule like below
- 'ICON_CREATE'
-'ICON-SHOW'
SO INCLUDE THIS FUNCTION MODULE IN YOUR PROGRAM AND USE THEM

Creating new company in sap b1 8.8

While creating new company in SAP-B1 8.8, it's giving me the following information.
"Company was not added to read-only DB user. Read-only DB user must be updated manually"
I had also given the SITE password and created the new company successfully.
Can anyone help me on this please.

I followed the steps you mentioned. While doing that, it's asking for Read Only Db User ID & Password. If i give new ID & Password it gives the following information.
"A Read Only DB USER is assigned for all Company Database, Adding a read only DB user is irreversible. Do you want to continue"
Can you please guide me how this can be taken forward.

This can be done in SAP menu instead of User Menu, provided all your users are using SAP menu. If a folder is created in User menu it would be visible only to the user. If it is created in SAP menu and if all the users are using the SAP menu then the folder would be visible to all...

Adding new item in SAP logon

Hi,
when adding a new item in SAP GUI, we get an option for the connection type------
Custom application server
Group/Server selection
On selection the Group/Server selection
we need to add the System ID, Message server, SAP Router and Group/Server.
Here on adding the first two and then when i go on adding the Group/Server, I get the Error message as
Hostname <message server name> not found.
Is there anything i need to do in the HOST file or the Service file present at the Drivers folder of my local PC.

Firstly you need to check if connections to the specified servers are allowed through your network. Check if access is permitted on those group servers from your network.Check your VPN settings.
Secondly check the Saplogon.ini file in the C:\WINDOWS folder. Check if the entries are correctly maintained in there as well.
