Hey guys...
IM A new Guy.
New to VERIZON but doesn't feel right! Although the 1st Gen Droid is truly awesome, it was the rival of the phone I sported way back when the G1 was the current bad boy on the block the NexusOne. I HAD NO OTHER ANDROID devices in stock! SO I selected the Droid. But I desire a DROID X. YES I AM OBSESSED. ...SEARCHING for one...I guess ill have to wait iltill I'm eligible for upgrade. I was thinking I had 30 days to exchange and as soon as they are in swap...but I can't if I have talked more than 30-50min....so that's out.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me knew thanks

What is this...a new rule? Where did you get this from? The only restriction on the 30 days is one exchange, as has been previously stated. As far as I know there is no restriction on the calling minutes used....is there?

Brand new N76 vibrates but doesn't ring
I recently received an unused n76. Everything on it works fine, except that it doesn't ring. The mp3 player works, they keys make sounds, it vibrates when called but doesn't ring. I've checked and adjusted the profiles to ensure that the volume is up to maximum, but still no sound.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why?Thank you for joining the ASC, however next time you might want to check out the data on a post, as well as the content. Someone had already told the poster to check the mute switch, and this post is 3 years old.

Stumped with SwingWorker -- code compiles but doesn't run right
Okay, sorry to post a ton of code, but I'm creating a swing gui that will use swing worker to create an object of the followng class, one method that sleeps and returns a random number:

}I can get the gui program below to run without the SwingWorker, but am having trouble getting it to run properly. The code posted below compiles and starts up ok, but when I click the "click to do big job" button, it just doesn't do anything.
I created a runnable in the main method, and invoked the method to build the gui, so that's working.
I have the SwingWorker defined in an inner class that implements ActionListener; I'm guessing that's the problem. I should probably put the SwingWorkder in its own inner class, and invoke it from the first listener class?

I just downloaded a book on my new ipad mini. I have tried to put it on my big ipad but to o avail. It tries to, and says it is downloading but never finishes. I can't get it on my itouch either and that is fairly new. I did get it on my computer with no problem. It is a multi media book with paintings from MOMA and some audio for some paintings. What do I have to do? I even deleted it one time to start over.
If he downloaded it on his iPad then it should have gone into the Music app - when their are audiobooks on an iPad then an Audiobooks option should appear on the More button at the bottom of the Music app. If he downloaded it on his computer's iTunes then it will have downloaded into the Books part of his iTunes library and he will need to sync it to his iPad via its Books tab (audiobooks are one-time only downloads, so he should take a backup copy of it).

Help! I have had my iMac G5 fitted with new Logic Board but it doesn't work
I have just had my iMac G5 First Gen 1.8Ghz fitted with a new Logic Board under the Apple Repair Extension Programme for iMacs.
I got the iMac home from the repairers and switched it on and everything was working fine for about 2 hours and then all of a sudden the Error Page came up on the Screen (with a big On/Off Switch Logo) and it said I had to shut down.
So I shut it down waited a few minutes and then tried to re-boot it but nothing happened. All that happended was the Power Light in the Right hand corner came on..but nothing else....
Help! Any ideas what to do please?If you have an external firewire drive (it has to be firewire, USB won't boot on a Rev A), plug it in to the firewire port and turn it on, then boot your iMac and see if it shows on the screen.
Have you tried to hit the eject (up arrow, the last button on the top row of the keyboard) button when you boot, perhaps the repairers left a disc in the drive? Then try and put your install disc in.

Well I was able to obtain a work around download of Flash and it installed fine but Firefox tells me it needs updating so I go out, thinking I'm "IN" finally to update it and I get that issue of not being able to get the update for it. It's a regular laptop, not a touch screen or one of those new fangled ones for todays world. In fact it's a refurb so it's probably origin date was a year or so ago before all this MS stuff took off fully. So not understanding why I'm feeling like I'm being BLOCKED from getting the updated Flash I need and desire. If I click on the little "X" and tell it to ignore the warning the vid will play just fine but don't want to have to do that every time. Must be a better way.
Again, I'm sorry for posting in the wrong forum, getting this posted in the Flash forum was my desire but the way Adobe has this set up I just couldn't figure it out. I belong to ALLOT of forums and most are pretty straight forward but this one is confusing! -

Well I found nothing wrong in your post. So why even make a statement like the quote I included?

Your posts was great you were not whining about your rights to file complaints to the FCC or FTC etc. One of the best I have read.
And I am not trying to sway you from your phone choice. If you looked at my avitar it shows apple iphones. But I use and have used androids and not Windows phones.
However your numbers of windows phone users all leaving over the issue is miniscule in the number of users of Android and iOS devices.
I have written many times I wish all the devices get updated like iOS devices do. But at present that is not happening
No bashing, no adversarial post just a little common sense is all I use.

My video playback out...every video shakes/flashes/doesn't play right. What's wrong? I thought the hard drive was too full, but I just deleted 125gigs, rebooted and it still flashes and doesn't play videos. This is true for youtube, ads, foxnews videos...
Update: The iBook can play any 480p video and higher if I encode them with DivX and in AVI format. But of course this is not compatible with my iPhone 4. At least I can shrink my library now and get away from the full MPEG-2s. I don't get why I can't use Apple's h264 though. There has to be a setting I am missing. The sample Apple h264 videos from the days of Tiger worked flawlessly on my iBook when it was new so the CPU must be capable of decoding it. I really can't understand this.
Also, since I made my videos in English for my family, I had to create soft subtitles for my wife's Chinese family, and I can't get players like QT with perian or MPlayerX to sync them properly to an AVI encoded with DivX, they only sync well with the iPhone 4 m4v/mp4 formatted files I made. This is a real pickle.
So now I may need three or four copies of each video, LOL. I need to hardcode the subtitles if I want to use AVI to playback on older machines, and keep the mp4 file for the iDevices too, while keeping higher quality h264 videos for my American relatives...
If h264 is compatible with my iBook, what is the proper encoding settings? Must I dramatically lower the settings or frame rate? I can settle on 2 copies of each video that way. One iBook/G4/eMac compatible video that syncs correctly with my srt soft subs, and another version that works well with my iPhone 4 and iPad.
All in all, I will end up with more than 3 or 4 version of each video. On my late G5 dual core I have the full 720-1080p uncompressed master files. On my i5 iMac I have the h264 compressed versions for distribution, and lower versions for my iDevices. Now I need to keep either full MPEG-2 files for the iBook to play, or convert to older formats like DivX AVI for our family's legacy machines. I am running out of hard disk space quick now, LOL.

On your Windows computer, go to the iTunes Store. On the right column of the iTunes Store under QUICK LINKS, you'll see an option called Purchased. Click on that and you'll see all items that are tied to your iTunes Store account. You should see the U2 album there and you can download it from the cloud. You'll now have a copy stored on your Windows computer.

Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I have a new PC laptop with Windows 7 and Office 2010. I have an Airport Extreme, and installed Bonjour on my laptop. Bonjour "sees" my printer. When I try to print, the printer lights up -- but doesn't print. anyone have an idea? Thanks Gregg

I need to update my software in order to download the new version of iTunes in order to put songs on my new iPod. But my software doesn't need updating..or so my computer says. What should I do??
If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, Leopard OS 10.5.x is the max OS. If your iMac has an Intel processor, it can run Snow Leopard OS 10.6.x or possibly higher.
Once we know your iMac model, we can better recommend what OS X version.

My Contacts program appears to open, but doesn't display on the screen (it appears to be sitting just above the top right hand corner). any suggestions on how to get it back?
Launch Contacts, then on the "Window" menu select "Zoom". That should maximise the window and give you access to the bottom-right corner where you can resize it, and the bar at the top which you can drag around.

Why when I recently preordered the new $199 I phone was the sales tax estimated at +- $55? It should have been +- $18. The supervisor said the tax was on the $649 value, but that's not right as sales tax is charged on the sales amount. What is this charge for?
Complain to your elected officials, they're the one's that write the tax code. I know that in CA and RI, sales tax is collected on the unbundled price(full) of not just the iPhone, but any cell phone.
