New to wfs, wms

Dear Sir,
actually i am trying wms, wfs using oracle spatial with mapviewer. but i am not familiar with this technolog.
i seen following link of sir Dr. Siva ravada for wms, wfs with oc4j.
Re: Acquiring Oracle Spatial Data through WFS
i seen wfs theme create option in mapbuilder but it is looking for URL for server which has wfs.
i tried with geoserver creating theme and calling that theme from mapbuilder and it works fine.
but how about work with oracle oc4j.
how do i create wfs theme using oc4j server. what are the steps of configuring and creating wfs theme inside mapbuilder using oc4j
i will be thankful if some one give basic steps to create wfs using mapviewer
Thanks
Kabeer

helloooo please some one can give me ideas how to do it?
Thanks once again

  • Geoserver  WFS/WMS

    Hi All,
    I am a newbie to Spatial. I tried to read WFS Implementation document from OGC site. It seems difficult for me to understand. Any good stepwise guide available on internet.
    I have put some spatial tables in oracle and I can view them on OracleMapviewer.
    Please Help me run my WFS/WMS server. I have downloaded GeoServer. I have also downloaded a Jar file from GeoServer for Oracle access. I am using Oracle 10g. but could not run Geoserver on it.
    Thankyou!

  • WMS - pick and sort

    Hi,
    I am new to Oracle WMS. Needed some pointers on how can I model a picking flow path as below
    1. Pallets in pallet storage have multiple standard casepack cartons. This area is accessible only in full pallets and cannot be handled in cases.
    2. Sales orders are in such quantities that multiple orders can be fulfilled from a single pallet. Assumption: Each sales order is for different customer, hence different delivery.
    3. Need to be able to create one pick task from pallet storage for picking a pallet to an intermediate location
    4. From this intermediate location need separate tasks for moving required number of cases from this pallet to final staging location.
    I have worked on other WMS, where this scenario can be easiliy modelled. I am confident that even in Oracle WMS, there should be some way out using the outbound operation plan and consolidation options. However, specific pointers would be highly appreciated.

    Hi fms,
    I am using Oracle WMS to model my picking flow and am stuck at the same point as you. Were you able to meet your requirement in Oracle WMS? If so, can you share the details on how you achieved it?

  • Posting multiple goods issues against the same delivery

    Hello gurus,
    We are a fashion apparel company using ECC 6.0 and would like to know if it is possible to post mutliple goods issues against the same delivery?
    I will explain the business requirement.
    - We create a stock transport order to deliver 400 units of merchandise to on or our retail stores (STO is created and processed to a delivery).
    - This information is passed down to our warehouse management system (which is not SAP)
    - Our warehouse management system has the ability to split a delivery into multiple shipment when needed.  For example, our warehouse may only be able to complete 250 units for our morning shipment and will therefore pick, pack and post this.  This will feed back into SAP and process a 641 movement so that the units now show as "in transit".  This is needed so that our stores can process the ASN and move the units into their inventory when they receive the merchandise later that day.
    - During the afternoon, our warehouse will process the remaining 150 units and will ship this to our store later in the evening or next day.
    Currently, we are not able to process another goods issue against a delivery as we close out the delivery during the first goods issue.  We would prefer not to have to generate a new delivery for our DC and let them continue to process against the same delivery, but we are unsure how to configure this.
    Any help or guideance would be extremely appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Hi RJ,
    First of all sorry to write such a lengthy reply,In one line if i want to summerize then it is not possible with standard SAP however we can achieve this by writing some piece of code in both the system
    AS - IS
                   Business process
              From business process point of view you are right that once the pick & pack is in process it is not advisable to create a new delivery document for balance quantity and share the same with WMS as then they have to create a new document in WMS and start picking based on that rather then the old delivery document number. if i am in your position then i can give a thought like this
    e.g.
    Delivery                                                  - 100 Unit
    Shipment confirmation from WMS            -   60 Unit
    Change in delievry quanity / Pick qty        -   60 Unit
    Invoice from SAP                                    -   60 Unit
    Second confirmation from WMS                          -   40  Unit
    Change in the existing delivery quantity                -   Now here we have two option either
    1) Change the delivery quantity / Pick qty  to (60+40) =100 or
    2) Remove the 60 and update 40 as delivery and pick quantity
    Pros & Cons
    if you will select option 1 then furhter invoice will happen for 100 unit which is incorrect as physically you are shipping only 40 unit
    if you are selecting option 2 then the document flow is incorrect as you don't have history(in SAP) for the 60 unit which was shipped earlier
    Solution ::
    so in my opinion the best option is to create a seperate delivery document (store the old delviery number in one of the field of the new delivery and pass the same to custom segment of the IDoc) transmit the IDoc to WMS write the validation logic in WMS
    Find the record with old deliver number in the WMS system, check the status whether it is active or inactive
    if it is acitive Validate the Material + qty with the WMS record(Material + balance quantity) if both are same then pass the new deliery number to custom field of the WMS table
    At the time of confirming back to the SAP, Write a piece of code in SAP that if the incoming idoc custom field(new delivery number) field is populated then ignore the orignal document number and post the document using the new delivery document number
    Hope this help

  • Error in "Wait for event" step in a WF

    Hi,
    I try to use a wait for an event on a Z object
    When i test the workflow i get the error: "WL 442 No valid object for the container element".
    Can someone please help me with this error?
    So far, i have only created the event in the object zaccount. This event has to be trigger everyday at 12:00AM so taht every workflow in wait restarts, i also do not know how to do this, because using the function SWE_EVENT_CREATE or SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT i ahve to pass the objectkey, how do i obtain the workflow keys? can't i just trigger this event for everyworkflow waiting for it, no matter what the key is?
    Thanks in advance for any help given
    Regards,

    Hello,
    I haven't created any binding, i jsut assigned it in the vent, as i tried with another event from another object and it needed no binding.
    What i do is I assign the container element and the BOR type, and then assign the event. I haven't defined any binding because it shouldnt be needed i believe.
    BTW, i am new to WFs, so again, thanks for eveyr answer.
    Thanks
    Hello,
    "WL 442 No valid object for the container element".
    How is the binding between the event and the workflow, are you passing the object? Are you using a key?

  • Spatial Story For Newbies

    Hi All,
    There are lot of Information on Oracle Spatial. Different datamodels, like Network. Java Api Support like JGeometry. OGC Conformation. Raster Vector. GML output etc.
    All these information seems to be disconnected to a newbie. There is a need for an all encomapassing small writeup.
    I request for short writeups on what all ways Oracle Spatial can help a GIS(WFS/WMS) developer.
    Thanks in Advance!!

    Are you using Linux?
    Also after you create your shared Object file you
    must move your ".so" file to a directory in your path.
    Then run ldconfig and just to make sure, log out of
    your account.
    Is this even your problem? This is just the basic troubleshooting steps that I would take.
    Post more info. if this dose not help.
    Good luck,

  • Tora pkgbuild: oracle tool with postgresql and mysql support

    Tora is a tool for oracle databases with some support for postgresql and mysql.
    tora PKGBUILD
    pkgname=tora-alpha
    pkgver=1.3.14.1
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="Qt toolkit originally for Oracle databases administration with some support for Postgresql and Mysql"
    url="http://www.globecom.net/tora/"
    depends=('qt')
    makedepends=('perl')
    conflicts=('tora')
    source=(http://dl.sourceforge.net/tora/${pkgname}-${pkgver}.tar.gz)
    md5sums=('5560b5104438e1b71bd89386d0fcdc00')
    build() {
    cd $startdir/src/tora-$pkgver
    ./configure --prefix=/usr
    --without-kde
    --without-oracle
    --without-rpath
    make || return 1
    make ROOT=$startdir/pkg install
    I'm posting this pkgbuild only for testing/research.
    Fist, it's alpha (aka devel) version but stable release does not want to easly compile on my machine and it's too old IMO.
    As you can see it can be built without the need for kde (good news for other WMs/DEs users).
    The funny thing is that I built it without support for... oracle :-) That's because it needs lots of oracle stuff installed and I don't have it. If someone has, he can build a static version of oracle support (if you do please post some info here if it works, etc.).
    The postgresql/mysql support depends on the qt package configuration. Current qt arch package does not inlcude postgresql/mysql plugin support. The next qt release will have mysql support at least (http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=1040, http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=1166) and I have made a feature reqest for postgresql http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=1244.
    I'm still not 100% sure if postgresql and mysql should/shouldn't be put in makedepends (according to the docs and mailinglists it's not needed). I'll check that again when new qt release will be available.
    In other words in such configuration and present qt version this application is pretty useless :-) (though it can be run). But I'm posting this pkgbuild for the others (if someone needs to test it or tries to build it, etc.). I'm sure tora will soon be more attractive especially for someone using oracle databases.

    This won't work using a newer oracle instant client version though, since the pathes won't be set correct.
    The Project TOra won't use automake, since the author refuses doing so.
    Probably it would be a larger patching work to get it working with instantclient_10_2 (the current release version from Oracle).
    Why so?
    It seems as if the include pathes for the oracle client won't be set correclty, since TOra seems to expect a full oracle product installation.
    The configure does not accept a --with-oracle-includes or --with-oracle-libs option any longer (in 1.3.21 it did). Therefore, TOra won't find in example oci.h, since it's not in any include directory known.
    Also, some other files are not in the path TOra expects them to be.
    Without the possibility of passing by configure options handling this, i guess it won't be possible to get this TOra version running with the current instantclient.

  • Event container binding

    I am new in WFs.
    I’ve defined bindings from the event container to the Workflow container In the Workflow Builder in the basic data of the workflow on the tab page Start Events.
    The event Created has one input parameter like zwxorder-norder. (norder is defined as a key in BOR, not as an attriute)
    Binding event -> workflow:
    &_EVT_CREATOR& -> &_WF_INITIATOR&
    &NORDER& -> &NORDER&
    But the container is empty after starting of a workflow via SWUE with the event input parameter. Why so?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    that could be a binding problem only try Automatic binding.

  • Server Hardware for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 with Oracle Spatial

    Hi ,
    We're to set up an Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise with Oracle Spatial.
    Can you provide me the possible Server Hardware CPU / Memory specs , number of CPUs,type of OS and teh Model, for Spatial which a million users hits the database via a webservice?
    The vendor suggested us SDD instead of HDD, any performance hike on this?
    Budget seems to okay but I think Exadata will be too dear.
    Your insights is much appreciated.Anything relating to setting up a server with spatial is greatly appreciated.
    P/S: Been a programmer and don't knwo much about server hardware specs.

    It depends.
    Seriously - before anyone can offer anything but generalities here you need to really define exactly what you expect the database to deliver.
    In general however, I will throw out these questions and ideas...
    For instance - you say a million users "hit" the database (via a web service). Is that WFS, WMS, KML or ???
    Over - how long? A year? A month? A minute? A million hits over a year spread out evenly is only about 2 per minute.
    And what is a hit? A single random record? Or about 10,000 records in the same spatial area... or? And for each record - are you returning simple point data - or hugely complex polygons with thousands of vertexes each?
    How does this software work? Is it custom - or is it well known? Does it really query the database for every map (I assume it is a map service) feature - or does it read an area once and cache it in the middle tier? Or does it do something really smart and use cached tiles for static data - overlayed with vectors for dynamic data?
    And although you say Oracle Spatial - are you really using Spatial - or just Locator functions (less processing in general)? And if spatial - are you doing raster in the db - or 3D analysis - or other special functionality?
    SSD vs. HDD. - If you can buy a server with more RAM than the data set size (pretty easy these days) - and you do mostly reads (almost always the case for a map app) - buy a small cheap array of RAID'd HDD's - internal to the server is fine. Once the data is read into RAM - the HDD's do basically nothing.
    Server CPU and memory. Amount - see above. CPU Speed (use performance benchmarks - not GHz numbers) AND memory speed (often overlooked) - buy as fast as possible. Why? You pay for licenses by the core (2 cores per license for x64). And HW is MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper than Oracle licenses. Plan to upgrade HW every year if necessary to avoid buying more licenses (sounds crazy - but it is much cheaper).
    This may seem like a lot - but these questions are just the tip of the iceberg. I have been in charge of spec'ing, building, and programming spatial systems now for about 20 years, so I have a pretty good idea of how to do enterprise scale computing on a Ramon-noodle budget.
    Smart clean software is your friend - don't ask the HW to do anything unless absolutely necessary (cache results and reuse as much as possible), and you can get crazy performance from minimal hardware.

  • Mapviewer caching on WMS and WFS

    Does the tile cache do any good for WMS?
    e.g.: only same result for same parameters like simple HTTP caching?
    or can it do nice things like assembling cached tiles as required?
    What about WFS caching? I assume every requests hits the database. Since moving the query window 5m to the left ... :-)
    ---

    Just to be clear then, if someone is accessing my MapViewer instance using WMS i.e they are sending requests such as
    http://host:7001/mapviewer/wms?REQUEST=GetMap&LAYERS=...
    MapViewer does not cache these and will generate the map each time (even for identical consecutive requests). Is this correct?

  • DV7-1019TX, Vista WMS & HPQP and TV frequencies in New Zealand

    I've been trying to get my DV7-1019TX notebook to tune into our local TV frequencies (Taranaki New Zealand) but it seems to only find the channels in the VHF spectrum - no UHF channels scanned at all. From another forum I see that this is a problem in the configuration scripts for the New Zealand frequencies in both Vista Media Centre and HP Quick Play. Not knowing how to alter these configuration files I have altered the region when setting up the TV scan to 'Germany' and Wahoo it does a full scan and pulls in all the channels including the UHF ones:-).

    From later in this thread:
    Solution
    Ok, do:
    ck-list-sessions
    There were two sessions for myself.  So, the new slim is starting your exec line already with a console kit session.  This is new behavior.  It didn't before.
    So, I modified my exec line to remove "ck-launch-session" in .xinitrc to:
    exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startxfce4
    Reverted the changes I made to the shutdown/restart policy and rebooted.  Shutdown, restart, mounting USB drive: they all work again now.
    Edit: from even later on in this thread, just:
    exec startxfce4
    As your .xinitrc exec line should be sufficient for practically anyone.  "startxfce4" does the dbus-launch itself.
    Original post here:
    Changed in my /etc/slim.conf:
    default_path        /bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin
    Same issue, in Action buttons Shutdown and Restart grayed out.
    in .xinitrc, launch line:
    exec ck-launch-session startxfce4
    Launch line was:
    exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch --exit-with-session startxfce4
    But, same issue with that launch line.  Was googling and I found results saying dbus-launch is contained within startxfce4.

  • New GeoRaptor release !

    Hello List,
    A new release of the GeoRaptor plugin is ready ! Version 20100524 is available for download on the project's sourceforge page : [http://sourceforge.net/projects/georaptor/] Update center : [Update Center|http://georaptor.sourceforge.net/install.xml]
    GeoRaptor is a SQLDeveloper plugin to view Oracle Spatial data and assist in creating/validating Spatial data and indexes.
    This current release (20100525) release includes these changes:
    - GeoRaptor now handles Tables/Views and Materialized Views.
    - Initiation of GeoRaptor functions can occur at the table or column level in the SQL Developer connection tree; (ie a GeoRaptor context menu has been added to the Columns of a table/view)
    - The way the sdo_geometry structure attribute is displayed has been re-written to handle xD data with slightly improved colouration (more to come).
    - There is now the ability to display an sdo_geometry attribute in a query result table as SDO_GEOMETRY/WKT/KML or GML2/GML3.
    - The dropping of a spatial index (for tables/materialized views) can now be done via a new context menu option.
    - The way the sdo_geometry data is displayed in the spatial view has been re-written. It will draw 2D, 3/4D (Z or M or both) data but only in 2D.
    - The way sdo_geom_metadata is handled and updated has been overhauled. Tables with multiple geometries can be dealt with in the one metadata panel.
    - Spatial indexing has been improved.
    - There is a Suffix/Prefix (called Affix) Tools>GeoRaptor>Preferences preferences for controlling its placement.
    - GeoRaptor can discover the layer_gtype parameter (from either all the data or from a sample).
    - Setting the sdo_indx_dims parameter can be done via a pulldown; as also whether the index is geodetic (tick box)
    - Setting the TABLESPACE parameters has also been added.
    - GeoRaptor can now be told to position a new table/sdo_geometry object (Add to Spatial View) in the spatial view at the top of the layer tree or at the bottom (Tools>Preferences>GeoRaptor)
    - The ability to move an existing layer in the spatial view to the the TOP or BOTTOM has been added via a right mouse click menu entry.
    - Similarly, you can now tell GeoRaptor where to put the layer list in the view: in the RIGHT or LEFT panel.
    - The position of the dividers in the spatial view now are trapped and saved.
    - The geometry spatial validation routines have been modified to allow for tolerance or diminfo based validation. Multiple geometries per table are handled. The user can now select their own primary key (including multiple columns) they would like to use in the output report.
    - GeoRaptor can now draw arrows at the midpoint of each segment in a linestring or just at the end.
    - GeoRaptor can process (ie visualise) data as STRUCT or JGeometry (a user preference controls this).
    - A comprehensive and flexible shapefile loading component has been added that handles multiple shapefiles, various attribute sets, changing of string attributes to numbers etc.
    Enhancements:
    - Code quality improvements are already being prepared.
    - The next release already has ready to go enhancements to the shapefile loader.
    - The ability to create (automatically) a single sdo_geom_metadata entry that covers all shapefiles in a shapefile set that is loaded into a single table.
    - Similarly a basic spatial index can be built at the end of a load run.
    - The ability to round the ordinate values read from each shapefile's X,Y, Z etc double precision ordinates. So, an shapefile X value of 234567.97456362839 can be written as 234567.975 if a decimal place rounding of 3 is chosen.
    - More options or colouring SDO_GEOMETRY data in a resultset;
    - Ability to colourize SDO_DIM_ARRAY, VERTEX_TYPE etc structures;
    - Support the mapping (add to spatial view) of a SQL query resultset (viewed currently only by styling the sdo_geometry attribute).
    - This will include the ability to select a subset of the resultset for visualisation, copying to clipboard, export (not just one at a time as in the current version). In fact, working with resultsets will become the main focus of how GeoRaptor will work in the future.
    - Add a new Spatial node to SQL Developer that collects up all tables etc with spatial data in one node (like Tables/Views/Materialized Views etc) so we can initiate action from there minimising mouse movement and increasing end user productivity.
    - Create a tool for discovering and removing stale sdo_geom_metadata records.
    - Support projections in the map view;
    - Support multiple independent map views (not just one);
    - Support WMS layers within the map view;
    - Provide spatial data export (shapefiles first);
    - Support limited visualisation of external shapefile data before loading eg to view to display with existing Oracle data.
    - Network topology visualisation and functionality;
    - Export functionality
    We encourage you to use GeoRaptor and discover its usefulness. We are spatial professionals who use SQL Developer every day in our business and consulting activities: we want the tool to make our lives easier and we hope they will do that for you too.
    However, we don't know how you use GeoRaptor and SQL Developer so we would love to hear your wishes for the product and the sorts of improvements would help you in your work and use: [Feature Requests|https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=158162&atid=806731]
    Like all software GeoRaptor is not perfect: the software contains bugs.
    Please help us in recognizing and fixing those bugs by reporting them : [Bug tracker|https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=158162&atid=806728]
    Now that we have a release out, we intend on making regular bug fix release and not just releases containing new functionality.

    This release is really great. Simon uses the term "we" but he has probably done 99% of all the enhancements that have gone into this release.
    Thanks a lot for the effort Simon!!

  • I need to bookmark a site where a new sesion is created each time I go to the site. How do I bookmark just the general web address?

    I have a site that I use for work where each time you go to the site to log in it creates a unique session address but I need to have the general address bookmarked. I can't bookmark the site until after I perform the search.
    So I type https://worldcat.org/wms and begin the search. That address is added to as the search progresses to the log in screen.

    Hello,
    In the Library:
    * Bookmarks [[Image: Bookmarks-29]] > Show All Bookmarks
    ** Note in the Library, you can also manually add a bookmark by right clicking in the main pane and selecting "New bookmark" (as long as you are in one of the Bookmarks Menu, Toolbar, or Unsorted Bookmarks folders)
    * If you click on an existing bookmark in the Library, the information stored in that bookmark should be located in the bottom pane. You can edit the link there.
