New Toshiba hook-up to Directv
I just got a Toshiba 19" tv/dvd for my office. Model #19L610U. I have connected it to my Directv box via an HDMI cable but am not getting any picture or sound, just snow. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong in programming the TV but nothing seems to work...I've tried setting the tv to channel 3, 4 plus all other single digit channels and still, nothing..... Does anyone have any tips? Its probably something totally simple!!

I sincerely hope you get the product working, and I did not indicate your post as a bother. I know for a fact that connecting and viewing sources is a part of the instruction manual.

You are using an external tuner (cable box) that is why volume adjustment using the cable's remote will not be applicable. Volume is part of the TV's settings. To control the TV's settings (Like the volume) you need to program the cable box remote (If applicable).

ran troubleshooter said its a compatabilty problem suggested turning off itunes compatability or selecting windows service pack 3 tried both no help

New Toshiba 3tb external drive not recognized at startup WIn 7
My new toshiba 3tb external drive (with wall wart power) is not recognized at start up (Win7). The message I get is that it is a USB storage device but can not be used until it is formatted (I already moved files to it). If I plug it in after start up it's fine and shows up as a toshiba storage device. I've used the 2.0 and 3.0 ports and it is the same problem (it has wall wart power). I have never encountered this problem with any other usb storage device (an iomega 1tb and a WD 500gb) always plugged in and recognized at start up.
Thoughts?Please provide your complete model number of your system.
By doing so, we will be in a better position to provide you assistance.

my ipod touch 4g is not being recognised on my new toshiba laptop or itunes. Its not being shown on my computer and its not shown as 'unspecified' in the 'devices window'. The ipod touch starts charging then stops this keeps continuing like a ongoing circle. Please help.
I have tried on my family members laptop and its seems to be picking up. So the ipod or the usb wire is not the issue.
I have tried everything from reinstalling itunes and updating windows.
I have tried the diagnostics test and its still says the ipod cannot be found.See

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:

paying special attention to item #5
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

How can I install my pantech um290 on a new toshiba laptop?
Bought a new toshiba laptop today, installed vz access for the pantech 290 and cannot connect to the internet. I contacted tech support, and they attempted to help me, but there really was no help. I am running windows 7 on the newbie. I installed, detected the device, and kept getting error message wmc100. Tech support advised me to uninstall it, shut it down, open it back up, install it, shut it down, open it back up and attempt to log on. Still got the same error message.
<sigh> if only I could afford a new mac laptop. It really is my preference........The first thing I would do is take evsotech suggestion to install the updated version of the software because the cd has a habit of having out dated software on the cd, go to http://vzam.net/ and download the most recent version of the software..
Now as for having driver issues, basically to make sure you have all your drivers installed correctly go to your desktop and right click on the
1."Computer" icon and select
2."Properties" and then select
3. Device Manager located on the left boarder....
4. Once the screen comes up that shows a list with all the hardware on your PC (Check for any yellow triangle or red exclamation point) because this will indicate a missing driver..

I just bought a new toshiba laptop and I am trying to download the pictures off of my iphone 4s on to my laptop. The laptop keeps trying to download the pictures and it stops part way through and says "No files to download" meaning that I have to pictures on my iphone, which is not true because there are about 600 picture that i wanted to put onto the computer.. How to i get those pictures off of my iphone and on to my laptop?
Pics synced to your iphone from your computer are one way- computer to iphone.
If these are the pics to which you are referring then copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your computer, to your new one. -
Help required with Photoshop Elements 4.0 this has been installed on my new Toshiba laptop with windows 8.1 for some 18 months and operating well. Now it will not open, message pops up saying “attempt to access invalid address” then “application not responding” Suggestions how to access would be much appreciated. Tks. Stuart
What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

Connecting Optical cable to new Toshiba 46TL868
I have a new Toshiba and I am having trouble connecting the Optical sound cable from my Orbitsound T9 soundbar to the TV. The connection on the back of the TV had a plastic cover which when removed showed a hole for the cable to fit in but the connection seemed to be slightly different to the cable I have with the soundbar. There is a small metal spade sticking out of the centre of the socket. Does this have to be removed or does it in some way hold the cable in. The cable I am using is a standard optical sound cable but cannot seem to make it fit into the Toshiba. Has anyone else had this problem?
That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

Bought brand new Toshiba A500 laptop, but no Windows 7-64 CD/DVD's came with it, just the programs installed on the computer. Since I have been a long-time Dell customer, where all programs installed also come with various CDs/DVDs, I am rather surprised, especially when you consider that I bought a complete Win 7 Utl OS. Where are the discs? For me this can be a future deal breaker. Is Toshiba so confident that their machines will never need to see an OS disc?
they havent put the discs in with there products for a few year now. there is a recovery partition on the hard drive you can use for a recovery. they also have a program called recovery media creator on your laptop to make your own recovery media. it is a way that if people dont make the recovery media you have to call and order some and toshiba gets another $25 for the user. there is a section in your users guide( search users guide in start menu) about page 60 shows how to recover from partition.

Trying to instll iCloud on a new Toshiba laptop so I can sync contacts, calendars, email with my iPhone and iPad. Get error message HRRESULT:OX8007OBC9, says installer encountered errors before iCloud Control Panel 2.0 could be configured. Have the same problem trying to istall iTunes.

If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

New Toshiba PC with Acrobat Reader pre-installed. I installed Acrobat XI Standard. When opening a PDF, it opens in Reader. How do I get Standard to be the default?
right click a pdf>click open with>tick use as default and navigate to adobe acrobat xi, if it's not listed in the 'open with' panel.
