New touch better speaker?

does the new touch that was just releases have a better speaker than generation 2? Are there any other differences? I am thinking of upgrading my gen 1 to one with a speaker. I can either buy a refurb or a new gen 3?
Also is there any value today in the faster processor?

having upgraded from a 1G to a 3G, the difference in speed is definitely noticeable. the only other major difference is voice control (but you need the hardware for it - the 3Gs come with earphones that contain a mic, but i've never liked apple's earphones)
can't compare the speakers, havent read anything to suggest it is different, but its definitely nice to have (whether it be on a 2/3G)

  • Please help; What makes the 2nd Gen iPod Touch better then the 1st Gen?

I am thinking about buying an 8gb iPod Touch, should i save some dough and buy the 1st gen iPod Touch or pay a bit more and buy the 2nd gen?
Also, what makes the 2nd gen iPod Touch better then the 1st gen, what has been improved, changed, etc...?
    Thanks in advance.

I had the 1st gen touch since it first came out and just got the 2nd gen touch last month. I'll list a few things I like about the 2nd gen touch.
    1. internal speaker. makes a huge difference in my opinion.
    2. new design. alot nicer to hold in your hand than the 1st gen.
    3. seems faster overall than the 1st gen touch.
4.display no longer has blue tint. now has more of a yellow tint. makes pics and movies look a little better.
If you can afford the 2nd gen touch I would highly recommend it.

  • New Touch Missing Movie Rental/Game "In-App Purchase" Sync Problems.

just picked up the new iPod Touch 4G (64GB) and am syncing to Win7 Starter (32bit).
I rented a few movies before I bought the Touch. They all seemed to download fine. the "Move" sync process seemed like it worked perfectly. When I looked back at my movies on my touch, some of them were missing. When I double checked my rental section in iTunes the movies were missing. I remember a dialogue later, saying that the file couldn't be found. I ran a quick windows search with no results.
So it seems like I could "Move" the movie fine, but after the sync finished, the files were gone from both the computer and the touch.
Could someone please explain this, and what I may do to recover those files? I did pay for them after all, and would still like to watch them. I just don't want to pay for them twice.
    Also (another similar issue):
I downloaded and played the game "FieldRunners" fine, but then decided to do an "in-app purchase" for the next level. I clicked download/entered my info/ and it seemed to download correctly, but when I re-entered the app, the level was not available to play. just weird.
FYI: this is my first iOS device, so please don't flame me for newbie ignorance.
    Any advice/suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks.
Overall, Here is my experience with the new touch:
First Connection: Installation did not work. Unplugged / Replugged USB worked correctly. (no restart necessary).
Selecting content to sync: Did not detect Outlook 2010 (FULL/NOT BETA) for Contacts/Calendar/etc.
I chose not to sync this through iTunes, and instead setup an "Exchange" account on my iPod Touch through google (m.google.com). Works perfectly.
I have my other email addresses forwarded through gmail to take care of push notifications. I still don't have Outlook 2010 calendars synced with google yet, but I'll figure that out.
Then I noticed the other sync problems mentioned above.
Again, any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Epski
Let us know how you go as i'm having the same issue also. I upgraded to yosemite and itunes 12 at the same time and thought the OS upgrade was the issue. I downgraded back to Mavericks again (for lots of reasons i won't go in to here) thinking this would fix the problem but it didn't.
When i play any video content from itunes 12 in full screen goes dark once the controls fade away. QT, appletv or anything else plays them perfectly, as per itunes 11!
You don't have a Samsung TV by any chance do you?

  • Better speaker

Is there better speaker in the new Ipad 2?

Hi folks, I am an audio engineer and I can tell you that the first iPad resonates bass and low mid range frequencies in the body of the device. The whole iPad resonated sound and so it seemed to come more from the center of the iPad.
The new iPad 2 is brighter in the high mids and treble, this is why some say the sound is better, when it's just crisper. But it lacks bass and low mids, so the sound seems to come from the side and back. So it's a subjective choice for listeners as to which they prefer. It seems because of the small size of the iPad 2, bass has to sacrificed. Then again size, speed, camera, and graphics may matter more than sound quality.

  • Cases for the new Touches?

I have just purchased a new Touch as of 9-18-08. Does anyone know what cases will work with it? It has the volume buttons on the left side and the earphone hole is in a different place than on the iPhone so the iPhone cases won't work.
    Any help?

I have found this at Amazon. Seems some actual leather cases are due out 1st October as well. Not quite what I was looking for but better than nothing for the time being.

  • Daughter has new touch 4G, I have iPhone 4,can we have iTunes on 2 computer

Hi my daughter has new touch 4G, I have iPhone 4, can we have iTunes on 2 computers with the same apps already bought?
What I mean is currently I have an iMac with iTunes and my iPhone 4 on. bought a lot of apps etc. For Xmas I synced it to this iMac so I could get the apps on ready.
However she has a Windows PC with iTunes on. Can I copy my apps to this laptop somehow, and let her use the same iTunes account?
I would rather she learn how to manage her iTunes and touch, but we'll keep the same account I suppose as I have bought a lot of stuff?
    cheers

    yes.
authorize iTunes on her computer for your iTS account, then set up _*Home Sharing*_ on both machines. use home sharing to transfer content between homeshared computers.

  • HT4527 How do I transfer all my iPod songs to my new touch iPod

How do I transfer all my iPod songs to my new touch iPod

Hey, I had the exact same issue. The way that Apple explains to do it is change your iPod into hardrive mode by messing with the preferences. While your iPod is hooked up to your old compuer, go into preferences and check the box saying enable disk use. Then your iPod will appear on the desktop and you can drag the song files into it. I don't know if you can transfer them all at once or not. Anyway, then you hook up the iPod into the new computer and drag the songs into iTunes. I had trouble doing this and it erased all my songs one time but I think it was an error on my part. Another way to do it is to send the song files through AIM. Have someone on the old computer and you on the new one and send them in large bunches to the new computer. Yet another way is to e-mail them to yourself and download them on to the new computer. The sure-fire way (and the way I finally succumbed to but it worked!) is to download the program iPodCopy on the new computer and follow the instructions to have your music quickly and easily copied. It does cost $17.00 dollars to download but I was willing to pay the price to have my music transferred hassle-free. Just type iPodCopy into google and it should come up. After months of trying and searching how to transfer my music to the new computer, this was my last resort and it was well worth it!
I hope my suggestions help you out in your iPod escapades!
Let me know if they work. Buenas Suerte.

  • New Audigy Beta Drivers did they add EAX 4.0 to an Audigy 1 Platinum

    Hello,
does the new Audigy Beta Drivers add EAX 4.0 Support to an Audigy Platinum ?
    Greetings Picard007

Audigy (hardware base one) supports EAX3 (EAX Advanced HD) hardware. Audigy2 suports EAX4 hardware. EAX4 is supported with latest OpenAL drivers on compatible hardware.
    More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environ...dio_extensions
    Quote:
EAX has nothing to do with actual 3D audio positioning. Positioning is done by Microsoft's DirectSound3D API. An alternati've to DirectSound3D, called Open Audio Library (OpenAL), surfaced in 2003 in several titles. OpenAL allows direct hardware acceleration of audio, like DirectSound, including EAX. As of 2006, the API has been used in many popular titles including Doom 3 and Prey. These games support EAX 4.0 if audio hardware with an OpenAL-supporting driver is present.
Most releases of EAX versions coincide with increases in the number of simultaneous voices processible in hardware by the audio processor: the original EAX .0 supports 8 voices, EAX 2.0 allows 32 (Li've!), EAX Advanced HD (EAX 3.0) supports 64 (Audigy), EAX 4.0 again supports 64 (Audigy 2), and EAX 5.0 allows 28 voices (and up to 4 effects applied to each) (X-Fi).

  • New Touch - Cannot find iTunes 9.2 to download to sync with

I saw a previous post on this that was answered. But when I tried to update iTunes from 9.1.1 to 9.2 - which my new Touch says is required - I get a message that no new software updates are available from iTunes. I can't do iTunes 10 because I don't have Leopard on my MacBook. Does anyone know how I can get iTunes 9.2 to download?
