New trackpad - broken and blemished?
Hi there,
I bought a brand new Apple Magic Trackpad straight from Amazon the other day. When it arrived today I noticed an unremovable 'blemish' spot on the brushed aluminium front which is rather annoying. In addition to this, there is some kind of irremovable faint marking on the surface of the trackpad itself, in a completely random pattern. It is viewable under a specific angle of light. I would expect this on a trackpad that had been used for a while, but a brand new one...? Furthermore, the left click corner is a lot less responsive / tactile than clicking everywhere else.
What would you guys advise me to do? Are these things normal?

It's just that you said ' If it came from a third party other than Apple,' and it did come from someone other than Apple, it came from Amazon.

You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had one installation, you still have the option to install on a second without doing anything further than that. If you originally downloaded the purchase thru Adobe then you might find a download link available in your Adobe account online. You can have the first installation deactivated to free up the activation and have it available for another machine again as well. YOu need to contact Adobe Support thru chat for that. For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

Is the media already on the iPad? If not, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded if they are still available in iTunes. Non-iTunes purchases would need to be synced from iTunes on a computer. -

The right way is to restore the backup that you should have kept of your broken laptop before it was broken to your new PC.

If you don't have a backup then the only possible solution is to go back to the store and see if they can get your old phone and create a backup of that. I know very often that Apple employees will wipe the returned iPhones clean before shipping them back to wherever they ship them.
When you say your old phone was "broken" does this mean it is dead and won't turn on?
Do you have a Time Machine backup of your computer, or a clone that might have this info on it?
Other than that I hate to say you may be out of luck. Time Machine and/or a cloning program performed regularily will inevitably save your a** in situations like this.

As long as they are already ticked in your iTunes then yes. Just to check do a sync and as long as everything stays the same you are good to go.

I have loaded Lion on my MacBook and the new trackpad functions work only on one ordinary account or user and not on the admin account. The trackpad preferences are well set. What can I do?
iCloud should still help you reduce some hard drive space. Just select "optimize" in the icloud tab in Mac Photo App preferences.
Granted, not the same as completely offloading your library to a back-up drive at your location.

broken and can't be operated at all. How can I do this please?Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've authorised your account on your new Macbook then you should be able to log into your account on your Mac's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then reauthorise the Mac (and any other computers that you still have and need).

However, My carrier (orange) will b picking up my broken iPhone and I am unsure how to secure the content and icloud data on the broken phone. Is there a way to disable the data held on it and ensure that if it is fixed, nobody can use/see my data and access my account?

If you no longer have your iOS device
If you're using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, you can erase the device remotely and remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find, selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
If you're unable to complete either of the above steps, you should change your Apple ID password. Changing your password won't remove any personal information that is cached on the device, but it will make sure that the new owner can't delete your information from iCloud.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Or maybe:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

I have an ipad I used with a computer which's now broken. I bought a new Macbook Pro and signed into iTunes with my usual Apple id and pw. I connected my ipad to the new Macbook but it won't back up my photos or Apps from the ipad to the new macbook. Help
What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
My old computer has broken and I had not backed up my Itunes. I now have the hard drive from my old computer (windows 7) but cannot transfer the music. How can I transfer the music from my old hard drive to the new laptop (windows 8)?
Copy the entire iTunes folder from \Users\<User>\Music on the old drive into your music folder on the new computer.

My old Mac Book is broken and no longer turns on. A couple of years ago I bought the Creative Suite from Apple and would like to transfer this to my new Mac Book. However, to make things more complicated I seem to have misplaced my disc. How do you suggest I can transfer the Creative Suite to my new Mac?

JessYou would not want to transfer it even if you could. Transferring doesn't work in most cases. You need to install using installation files. You can download those files (can only provide a general link since you didn't indicate the version)...

You will need your serial number to activate, which is normally on the disc case. If you registered the software when you originally installed it then you might be able to find it recorded in your Adobe account online in the My Products section. -
My new mac mini seems stuck whilst launching for the first time - looking for bluetooth peripherals - they are a new trackpad and wireless keyboard - both in pair mode so I can't see what the issue is..Do I really need to find wired mouse and keyboard to set this up?
Hehehe... Yes, a freshly-booting Mac from the factory can get confused with all that wireless traffic. In the past I've been able to get new Macs to pair with a keyboard and mouse/trackpad by switching the keyboard/mouse/whatever off and then on again while the computer is attempting to find something to pair with. The computer will attempt pairing with the newly-activated device and otherwise pretty much ignore all the other Bluetooth chatter is sees.
That said, whenever I set up a Mac for someone, I always bring a USB keyboard and mouse with me. It makes the process faster and easier. I then set up their Bluetooth input devices later, using System Preferences.
