New u310/u410 BIOS 65CN99WW

Look at what I found (or may be someone else - didn't see it posted).  BIOS update fixes issue: BIOS and boot menu can't be accessed after windows recovery.
Worked on my 65CN98WW BIOS u310, now I can actually get into the BIOS setup using the NOVO button.  Finally.
Here:  65CN99WW Bios

What's new in the BIOS Update v2.00 for Satellite l505-144
    Thanks

    Hi mate
As far as I know Toshiba European driver page does not provide any details what has been changed in the BIOS.
But I found some details on Toshiba US page.
It seems that Fn+N+1/2/3/4 debug function has been removed in BIOS 2.0 to avoid keyboard abnormal behavior.

  • U410 Bios won't save settings to boot from USB

    Hi-
I'm having some major issues with my system, so I'm trying to boot from a USB into my Windows Recovery disc.
The only way I'm able to access the BIOS is by going into the machine and disconnecting the CMOS, which forces the BIOS to come up.  I change the boot order to have USB Boot first.  However, when I reboot, it goes into the boot manager (GRUB).
I've tried it several times, changing the boot order, then saving it, then rebooting - always ends the same way.
I've seen all the other u410 BIOS-related issues on the forums, but this seems to be fun, slightly different twist to those issues.
Any help would be appreciated.  I can't really do anything, and I'm stuck in limbo if I can't get it to boot from a USB.
    Thanks.

Since you stated GRUB, I'm just curious and I would like to know if you have installed another OS aside from the pre-installed one.
    Thanks in advance.

  • P67A-GD55 (B3) new 1.15 BIOS ERROR

    Hi
I am owner of MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) motherboard. My system configuration is:
Intel Core i5-2500K (not overclocked, turbo mode is off) (water cooled)
    Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD 1.0 graphics card
    4 x 4 GB Corsair Memory (Part Number: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Corsair 90GB SDD Force III HDD + 1TB Samsung HDD
    Sound blaster X-Fi gamer
I was using latest 1.14 (1.E0) BIOS version. I have Microsoft Sidewinder mouse and sometimes I had problems with my mouse. Yesterday I saw that you released new version of BIOS 1.15 which improves compatibility with gaming mouse. Without wasting time – I’ve download new 1.15 BIOS version – copy it to my booted Pen Drive. After restart system, I’ve booted form USB drive and uploaded new version of BIOS. Everything was fine till restart. System turned on for about 1,5 second, after that computer turned off. It happened every time. I’ve tried to clear CMOS by clicking on the „clear CMOS Button” on Back Panel. But it didn’t help. My computer turned on for 1,4 s and turned off. I’ve tried to “Clear CMOS Jumper”  with JBAT1 jumper. But it also didn’t help. I was really pissed off. I have been uploaded BIOS for long time and I never had problems like this. I thought that I would have to return motherboard to my store. But I tried something else. I’ve put out one of my memory module (form DIMM4), suddenly my computer turned off. So I’ve enter into BIOS and set everything to default. Everything was fine. I’ve restart system, booted up. After that I’ve turned off and put in my memory module and …………. my system turned on for 1,5 s after that turned off. I was really pissed. I’ve tried with others memory slots. DIMM1, 2, 3 – and it worked OK – but with DIMM4 for was error. So I’ve download 1.E (1.14) BIOS version and upload it. Now everything is working fine (with 4 memory modules loaded) but I have still problems with my mouse. There is some problem with this 1.15 BIOS version with 4 modules loaded – or just with Corsair memory. Does anybody had the same problem?
    P.S. Sorry for my English

  • Does the 790GX-G65 Support the new UEFI / Click-Bios

Hey Everyone! Does anyone know if the MSI 790GX-G65 supports the new UEFI / Click BIOS? I presume that if it does, I could use the forum's bios flashing tool to update it

Does anyone know if the MSI 790GX-G65 supports the new UEFI / Click BIOS?
    No.
The board uses old-style AMIBIOS8 coded BIOS releases.  There will be no UEFI (AMI Aptio coded) releases for this board.
Still, for BIOS Updates, >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<.

  • New R9 280X BIOS revision - undervolting required

Hey guys I'll try keep this as short an concise as possible whilst still being thorough
    I have bought 3 R9 280X's two have arrived with a different PCB/revision
    S/N 602-V277-28SB - 1  older rev. boards - BIOS
    Bios version 0.15.040.000.000.003435 (113-C3865000-G77)
    S/N 602-V277-44SB - 2 newer rev. board - BIOS
    Bios version 0.15.042.000.003.000000 (113-C865000-X77)
I have dumped the 28SB BIOS and undervolted to 1.050 volts using ATIflash & VBE7 to modify the voltages which has worked well. However the same method for the 44SB cards results in an non functioning card when 3d acceleration is required so I am forced to use the original BIOS which has no Vcore functionality
please see attached dump of original 44SB BIOS
    mediafire(dotcom)/?fwvaaz3c3za9zd6
I need to lower the Vcore of these GPU's, currently the cards are sitting at ~90C under 100% load, this will not make for a long life span, I will be improving the airflow however lowering the Vcore is an easy way to knock 200-300 watts of TDP away, look for a max temp of 60-70C
Edit; I have tried the usual software AB & Trixx to no avail

Quote from: lejimmy on 19-January-14, 08:33:59
Thanks for this post, applied those AB configuration, however my cfg file was named MSIAfterburner.cfg
Almost exactly the same situation as hypnoticspector, I have the same carbide air 540s.
Both cards with the 44SB and 042 Bios.
First card is hitting 97C and the second card is at 80C and fans at 100%.
Using these cards for mining so these temperatures are rather unacceptable.
you shop at cyberpowerpc.com too?  love this case and the setup, just wish the temps would stay at 72ºc like so many review sites have shown. they're gonna get a lot of rmas...
i tried cleaning and reapplying 10.2w/mk thermal paste, top 5 stuff according to several sites, and it did not help. manually undervolting through bios and underclocking through afterburner slightly helps but only on one card, and it hits 80-82º which is still not acceptable. apologies for broaching any forum taboos, not sure how to edit my posts.

    Hi Bela
What do you search for? Do you need informations about new BIOS version or what?
At this time you will find a newest version of BIOS on the Toshiba page.
I have checked the site and it seems the 5.10 version was released on 25/01/07 and its OS independent.
Unfortunately, you will not find any information about modification of the new BIOS version.
It seems Toshiba European site doesnt provide such details.

  • A Bug with the new ms-6729 Bios (6729v5.30)

    Hi
After updating my Bios to the new version, the motherboard detect my CPU(Athlon 2400+) as a 1800+.
I tried to change settings manually without success.
Anybody has encountred a similar problem?
    Best Regards

    Dir Sir,
Thank you very much for your quick answer, but i believe you didn't try
    the mentioned Bios.
I'm not a novice, i mounted more than 300 computers for my clients, and
around 30 of last 50 computers are with MSI Motherboards.
Cpu Fsb for Athlon 2400+ is 133 but the ddr/fsb is 4:5 because i'm using
DDR 333 and the K7N2-V (MS-6729) is DDR 400 ready.
With all MSI motherboards i mounted, it’s enough to put the correct CPU
FSB and (Auto) to detect everything by the SPD.
Certainly it's a BUG with the new version because the Bios and Windows
detect CPU as Athlon 1800+ (1500) instead of 2400+ (20000.
    Best Regards,
    Lostan

  • MSI have finally commented on the Temp reading in there new 3.4 bios

Well like most of us that have upgraded to the 3.4 bios I have now very low CPU temps.
So low infect that I now no longer need my air condoner anymore as my PC's CPU is running so cold on air that it cools the whole room down for me..
    Like so
When we the public asked MSI to comment on the finding that we found in the new bios MSI was very quick to reply and put us all straight.
MSI comments on there new Bios
I hope that this helps all these that where in doubt
    Thanks you for your time

  • U310 Raid Bios Setting

I have a U310 Touch w/ Windows 8.1,  500gb HDD and 24gb mSata SSD.  What does the RAID setting in BIOS do?  If it is supposed to do something,  Windows will not boot up after switching to RAID.  It just says there was a problem starting you computer and goes into Startup Repair. Any help would be great.  I am just trying to make it  a little faster if that is what it does.
    Moderator Note; subject edited

    Hello,
Traditionally, a RAID option in a computer's BIOS or UEFI firmware allows the computer to treat multiple drives that are installed in it as if they were one big drive, and spreads files written to the RAID drive "array" across the individual drives for redundancy and performance.  For it to work best, the drives should be identical models.   There are several ways in which the RAIDed drive array can be configured, depending upon the number of drives, and what the RAID option in the firmware supports.
In some instances, the capacity of the RAID array is limited to the size of the smallest drive in it.  For example, if you created a RAID array with a two 500GB hard disk drives and one 24GB SSD, the size of the array would be limited to 72GB (3x24GB).
Probably the best way to speed up the U310 would be to remove both the 500GB HDD and 24GB mSATA SSD, and replace them with one SSD (either a 2.5" SSD where the 500GB HDD was, or a mSATA SSD where the 24GB SSD was), then reinstall Windows from your recovery media.

  • U310 no bios or usb boot

    Hi -
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 on the 32gb msata on my u310 and merged boot partitions at the beginning of the drive after the install. The BIOS didn't seem to like that and I get only a boot diagnostics screen for phoenix tiano secure boot and a "press any key to continue". Pressing "any key" takes me back to the same screen in an endless loop. I tried all known possible BIOS combinations and the crisis recovery steps and no help. Has anyone in the community encountered this and /or had any luck recovering from this ? Attempting to limit the number of paperweights I own :-( Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

What i think could be a solution here would be a bios reflash. Did you take a look at other ways.mentioned in this link

  • Any news of the BIOS update to support the Athlon X2's

Wonder when we will see the BIOS for these bad boys turning up?

Still waiting for a reliable venice/san diego bios.
Maybe the X2 will be included or come later as a separate update ?
VIA and ATI has officially stated chip-support ( 939+940 socket ) for the Athlon64 X2 dual core cpu´s.
Hot on the heels of AMD's announcement of their Dual-core Opteron processors, VIA has issued a Press Release to state that the K8T800, K8T800Pro and K8T890 chipsets support the new processors.

  • New ***3.9*** Bios Needs Testing!

Hello everyone. First, I am on vaca and unable to test this new beta bios from MSI...plus I cannot test at higher fsb speeds with my valueram.  Second, MSI is really focusing its energies to fix this 219 hypertransport cold boot bug problem. Even if it doesnt work, we need constructive input on this and I will not pass on negative comments.
Specifically, we need to test at these different fsb speeds and ht multipliers with memclock set at 200 (1:1) - assumming your memory can reach these levels:
    200 - x5
    219 - x4
    220 - x4
    245 - x4
    250 - x4
    255 - x4
Finally as usual, you download at your own risk... Thanks to Rebelshaven for hosting the download:

rebelshaven, i hate to bring in the bad news, but nothing was fixed. i flashed the BIOS 2 hours ago and i've been trying since then solutions. 219 bug is still there. here are some results:
    - MSI recomended setup - (no safe defaults because there is no such option in the BIOS) - aggresive mem timings disabled - 1.45V+9.9%, 2.7V , 1.5V, memclock 200 (1:1), mem timings auto -> 5104 CBBID
    - 219, 4x HTmulti - post to windows works like charm no problems whatsoever
    - 220, 4x HTmulti - no post, i've tried reset 10 times, power plug etc. - not a single post
    - 220, 3x HTmulti - post to windows works very well
    - 240, 4x HTmulti - no post (same trials as at 220, 4x)
    - 240, 3x HTmulti - cold boot but BSOD - tried 5 times, same result
in order for you not to question my bad memory modules, i can post you a pic with them working at 240 MHz - using clock gen.
again, a stranged thing that was noticed before, looks like that at 200 memclock setting, the PCI speed goes up with the HTT speed. i can confirm that this is not happening if using a 180 or lower memclock. this maybe a thing to consider since it is known that increasing the frequency of the PCI bus causes hangs and BSODs.
also, another thing, this is a BIOS for the Diamond board - it has the Diamond logo splash screen - but it works stable at defaults on the platinum sli. more tests probably during the weekend.
This is true, this bios does have the "DIAMOND" splash screen, but I guess it doesn't matter?
