New Update didn't fix the "You're Not Connected to the Internet" problem.
So I downloaded the new Front Row update yesterday, hoping the "Your Computer is not connected to the internet" problem for the iMac would be resolved, but no dice. Still says that when I try and view trailers. The only fix I've found is to create a new internet login manually that exactly mimics the "automatic" setting. However, when I do that I lose my video iChat capabilities. There's gotta be a way to have my cake and eat it too. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone find a fix? Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes my data is backed up. I installed the latest iTunes and now the program opens and immediately becomes unresponsive. The reason I tried to install the latest version was because it stopped connecting to the radio and to the store. I thought maybe the software update option was somehow related since they were both telling me I was not connected to the internet. Disabling the firewall doesn't make any difference, either, for the record.

I was hoping that the software update would fix the "Updating library, please wait a few minutes" screen that comes up when I try to play a song on my ipod touch after syncing. Is this bizarre "updating library" delay going to be a permanent feature of the ipod touch now? Could someone from Apple please clarify if you are trying to fix this, or is this just the way it is now?
If you (Apple) aren't going fix it, I hope you make it known in your marketing for the ipod touch that you can't listen to your songs immediately. If you don't disclose this, I sure hope the Zune touch people make a big deal out of it when promoting their mp3 player. I woudn't have bought an ipod touch if I had known I had to wait 2-10 minutes to listen to a song.I suspect there's something else going on here... I'm having terrible trouble syncing films, and even tho they are clearly there, they don't seem to load in the list... I noticed that especially if I had dropped my network connection - the list would disappear (and this is on multiple touches)... It then starts to look very like my issues on Apple TV, where if it cannot verify the film back throught the network to the store, it deletes the content from your box... I suspect that each time it loads on the touch, it's doing some kind of 'legitimacy' verify, and that's what's causing the problem.... If I crash the sync just before the end, the re-index seems to work okay, but there is still that slight delay....

Just downloaded new update 7/.1 and now firefox will not connect
Just downloaded the latest update 7.0.1. Restarted computer now firefox will not cponnect. IE will Thinderbird will. Turned off firewall and tried no luck so not firewall blocking it
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

ProApp Update didn't fix DVDSP still menu issue
The update that came out this week didn't fix the field problem on still menus. Can we make a noise about this so maybe they will fix this soon.
I consider this a major bug, as 90% of the menus I make are still...I understand this is a problem for slideshows, too.

SladeThis is the field issue on still menus (still images in general, as this includes slideshows). It is the intel/universal version. It distorts still menus, like it is only showing single fields instead of the properly interlaced frame. But the single field option isn't checked. I've filled out a bug report as have others and Apple is aware. I'm just venting because there was a pro app update this week and I burned an important DVD today and I have the same problems.

There are a few things here that make me think that this is the first nokia and the first update of FW for many of you.
when you update software, all of your installed after maket programmes, are gone and you have to install them again. If they are on your micro card, and you do the update, then anything that was on your phone pairing with the software on the card is - gone. you must reinstall all your programmes again. Just like if you reformatted your PC. Same thing.
many of the settings that you think you save, nokia software settings, are never brought back when you save backup and reinstall your settings on the phone. nokia has not got this 100% yet. i would say it is closer to 75%, and so i like to go through all the settings myself again. i have done many reformatts and have learnt that they are not worth the time. only worth it for a FW update.

Someone was talking about the connect/disconnect of the power and PC Suite when you are re/installing any settings, well your PC screen tells you that this will happen and so you should be aware of it at the very least. ONLY DISCONNECT THE PHONE FROM THE USB CABLE WHEN IT HAS FULLY REBOOTED AT THE END OF THE PROCESS. YOU WILL KNOW THAT THIS HAPPENS AFTER YOUR PHONE ASKS YOU FOR YOUR PIN. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. any sooner and you will ftuck your phone.

MSI didn't fix the temperature issue for AMD 64 processors. I'm sure.
For people who didn't read my previous posts;
MSI claims in BIOS 1.4 (for the MSI K8N Neo Platinum) that they fixed the problem that the CPU gets (for example) 54 degrees idle and 74 degrees load.
They didn't. They just made up a fake solution.
Here are my arguments.
- When I start my computer, after a cold long night in which the computer was turned off, I see 42 degrees for my CPU in the BIOS. This is when I go DIRECTLY to the BIOS in the POST. 42 degrees? That is impossible. The temperature in my room is around 20. It can't get so high so fast. My Northbridge is 21. In the old BIOS 1.3 it was the same; when you started your computer the BIOS showed temperatures like 52 etc.
- When my computer has started Windows XP, I start Core Center. There I see my CPU temperature. It is 39 degrees for my CPU. Ridiculous. My old AMD XP 1800+ started with a minimum of 29 when Windows started. After that the 1800+ increased to 48 degrees.
But ok, when I use the trick which some people used in BIOS 1.3 to get true readings (restarting their computer with a soft boot), I see 34 degrees for my CPU. This reading is the only true reading. Isn't it weird that when I have my computer turned on for about 4 hours, with whole the time readings like 42 degrees idle, and I restart, I just get 34 degrees... WITHOUT fluctuating temperatures to hell and back...
My conclusion is that MSI just made something up like '74-20 = 54 degrees in load and 62-20 = 42 degrees idle'.
Also, the temperatures are fluctuating to hell and back. It goes from 58 degrees in load to 54 to 50... Whatever...
This board is great, but this problem really, really s u c k s. FIX this. We have the right of correct temperature readings. We spend money for it.

Been there done that. They were responsive in the beginning. Continued to send them very polite and factual updates as I tried new BIOS updates but have long since ceased to receive any response at all. Again, I say I don't blame MSI. Just want a fix.....

I reread the thread a few times, and I don't see where anyone is claiming that they feel like that's a problem, so I'm confused about the relevance of this statement . The problem that's been mentioned here is that the temperature is being REPORTED at 50+C at IDLE load conditions when it obviously is NOT that hot. Restart of the machine immediately then shows an IDLE temp of 30C. Even though 30 seconds prior it showed 50C with just as low of a load since it was right after cold start? I managed to transfer the music from 1 pc to 1 other pc (it is played perfectly on the other PC (Windows 7- pc) by the newly downloaded and installed iTunes, version 10.6.1.7). But I didn’t fix the transfer of the meta data (for example the rating). Does anyone know how to use (or import) your old playlists, etc..(= meta data) on the other PC? So, short: how to migrate the meta data from one pc to an other pc?
It's a pity that it seems not to be possible to import on the new pc e.g. the ratings!!!
I don't want to start again with rating my (beautiful classical) music!

Hello all, new to the forums.
I've been recieving the error message "itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet". This problem didn't occur at all for the past 2 years of using itunes.
I've already scanned through numerous websites and forums for help, but none of them worked.
This set of instructions resulted in no change to any of the problems, though iTunes lists that as the supposed solution.

Others include installing IE7, which that didn't work either.

Listing order and dates of my photos have all changed and now it is a mess in my photo library! I tried to list them again by date, but it didn't fix the problem. What to do?
If your preferences keep getting messed up try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I Updated my wife's iPhone the other to the new operating system. It asked me first to use iCloud backup so I did. After the update was complete my wife can use wifi but when we try the 3G it says you are not connected to a cellular data service.
IT shows Bell as the provider but we seem to have lost something during this update.
can someone help me please.Check Settings>General>Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to On. If it is, try putting it in Airplane mode for 15 seconds, then turn Airplane mode off again. If it persists, give you carrier a call to confirm that it's properly activated with them and that your data plan is properly provisioned.

i just downloaded the new update for itunes and the itunes store wont open up it is taking a long time it still hasnt loaded since 5pm, i also cant sighn in either it just keeps on saying accessing itunes....

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I want to download the new updates I think to the 10.9 but our mac was given to us and when it comes to the last page it asks for the user name and password but this mac was wiped clean. How do I find out this info so I can get iPhoto? To be honest I'm not even sure what type of Mac I have and don't know how to find out what kind it is
I'd also like to make address labels and don't know where to find that eitherYou would make address lables with the Contacts app.

Installed a new update iTunes Saturday - My file directory could not be found, so I reset the directory path, and 'it' asked me if I would like 'it' to re organise my filing, foolishly (as a beginner, without checking) I selected yes - Many tunes have been duplicated, some have disappeared? Trawled through lots of misleading help files, mailed friends, tried many back routes into Apple web sites and they all wasted my time. Can anyone help?
I have discovered since then, that this resorce has been down over the weekend, which probably explains why I have had so many contradictory responses, so apologies if you all know what the prolem is.
My question is, my TIME MACHINE (which has not been used yet) was tried but looked nothing like that of the U Tube demo, so I am assuming that it needs setting up, however, it has been saving, I just do not know how to recover the data. Can anyone help?
