Hi all,
I want to format my leopard, but my disk came with 10.5.6
is there anyway to have it update to 10.5.8 and yet not creating an account?
the reason is I'm selling off my mbp to another user, I want it to be the latest update of all
yet maintain the new feeling of getting hand on the mbp.
you know the first startup welcome scene~`
in order to update to 10.5.8 I need to create an account to install it.
but that will pass off the welcome scene, anyway to by pass that?

Don't. Boot with your restore disk, erase the internal HD with Disk Utility, using the zero out data security option, quit DU, and shutdown the machine. Include the disks and any manuals with the computer and instructions on how to restore the software. Let the new user do that and let them do the updates.

After the new update, the screen shows only 3/4 of what is presented. I have reduced the size of the print and that did not help. For instance, in typing this, once I got as far as "presented" the screen had to shift to the left to allow me to see what I was typing. It did this automatically. What do you mean by 'refusing from the system', if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
For a credit card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is and if you are getting a 'declined' message then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If when trying to download you are getting a message about a 'problem with a previous purchase' then that implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase. If that is the case then you won't be able to download anything else (including app updates) until you've paid off what you owe : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If you aren't getting the 'problem with a previous purchase' message then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card's details and be able to download updates to your apps : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support

Any way to get only new updates for disconnected WSUS?

I have two servers set up. One is online, getting the new updates correctly. The other one is offline where I successfully was able to transfer the approve updates from the online WSUS. My work requires me to get new updates and transfer the new updates
from the online to offline WSUS once in a while. The problem is that I cannot use any external hard drive for data transfer due to security reasons. I can only use DVD of which we only have duel layer (8.5GB max) as our highest.
My question is any way to get the newest updates only and be able to plug them in the WSUScontent folder in the offline WSUS? I rather not have to span 7-8 DVDs for a 61GB folder of all the updates each time. I would love any method or advice that can
be offered. I'm limited on what third-party software I can use as well unfortunately.

You could probably work something out, using ROBOCOPY and it's various comparison operators (such as Archive bit, or date/timestamp).
You'd need to have the "last file set prepared for the offline server" available, to do the comparison. Then, tinker with the comparison operators to determine the set which works for you. This should give you the "delta", and then you could
burn the "delta" files/folders to your media.
Depending on your OS in use, ROBOCOPY might already be built-in for you (so no third-party software needed)

Just installed new updates and Safari won't open due to TelevisionFanaticPlugin

I just insalled all my new updates for my MacBook. Every time I open the Safari brower, it automatically closes. The error message says it crashed and it is due to the TelevisionFanatic Plug in. What can I do to fix this?

The first four locations listed are in the root-level Library on your hard disk, not the user-level Library in your Home folder.

Problems with new update of Numbers for Maverick

When opening any of my documents creted on a alder version of Numbers, I lose the format that I had on the page. The table or spreadsheet stays intact, but no the document perse. Where is the "Show Print View" feature on the new update of Numbers. I am frustrated and disappointed with the new changes, since I had to recreate all the spreadsheets that I had for my personal use and work.

Verity and New File Formats

I've searched the help files, KB, and forums and don't see an
answer to this question: Are there ever updates to the Verity
search functionality in ColdFusion to accomodate new file formats,
such as the newer versions of Word, PDF v7.0 and 8.0, etc? While
the search functionality of CF is great, it's somewhat limiting if
it can't be updated to index the latest file formats.
So does anyone know if it's possible to update Verity
(without waiting for major version upgrades in CF)?

Converting all of the videos to DV-AVIs before combining them in the same project is an excellent idea. Because you are using a Mac, however, you should use the DV-MOV as your common video format. To do this you should use Share/Computer/MOV using the PAL-DV preset. (There are many types of MOVs. A DV-MOV is a specific type of MOV that is used when shooting and editing video on a computer.)

New Update = I hate this phone now

The new update has messed up my phone, the camera no longer works, the apps shut down, the email is hard to switch from one account to the next then back. Facetime goes off while talking on the phone, this is a joke! I now hate my phone! iphone 4S

New Update and Apps loss in iTunes

After the new update this week after installing and rebooting computer there was no longer an app folder in the library. Completely gone. Has this happened to anyone else and how do I fix??

After investigating..I realized I had lost many but not all the apps that used to show in iTunes under the App folder icon (Under LIBRARY category at the top left). From what I can tell that folder shows what you last sync'd with your computer. I somehow had not selected to sync that folder when I sync'd my iPhone with my computer. Two methods to recover your lost Apps are;
1. Download the Apps and songs again based on what you remember (took me ages and I missed some) <grr>
2. Access your "Purchase History" so you know what you downloaded b4. To do this open itunes on your computer and login..i clicked on my login name and authentication window pops up...after authenticating is successful a page called, "Account Information" appears. About the fourth radio button down on the right is one called "Purchase history"...select that and it takes you to a screen that shows all your downloaded apps and songs (free and purchased)...You then just need to go back into the "Apps Store" on your iPhone and request to download those apps again. The system is smart enough to recognise you have paid and downloaded b4.

The latest update for LR 4 is version 4.4.1, you can download the appropriate install package from the links above.
Unfortunately support for the Nikon Df was only included with LR 5.3, so the options are.
1. Upgrade to LR 5.
2. Utilize the free Adobe DNG Converter (the latest version is 8.8) to convert the nef files to DNG format and import the dng files into Lightroon 4. Good idea to retain your original raw files and do appropriate investigation into the uses of the DNG format.

Why won't Focus Area Show up under selection from the new update of PS CC '14?

So I am looking for the Focus Area in PS CC '14's new update, but I can't find it. I search it up on help but it does not find it.
I've updated it all today. Is there a setting I need to have so that it will show up?

I got it. I still don't understand why so if someone can explain it I'd love to know. But when I removed <div id=ads> and it's close div, putting the content of that div in with the webcam div, it all worked. I don't have it that way on the page that uses the same size images and layout, but in a slideshow format, but for some reason it's what it took to make it work here.
I'd love to know if anyone knows why. But in case anyone else is struggling with something similar, maybe this will help.

After new update when I open Movies and look for movies, the referation is in swedish and I live in Finland.
Menus are in English like I have always had.
General settings:
Language: English.
Region format: Finland.
How to get referations in finnish or english?

under those tabs in sync all is checked then there is no need to select anything else. and nah, you only need to set the parameters once and it all stays there unless you make changes.
just verify they say "sync all" and you'll be good.

Massive Stability/Usage Issues With New Update [1.0.9.113] on Mac

Hello! So I'm new here, but a longtime Spotify user. Honestly, I have been left unimpressed and in fact quite annoyed with recent updates. Today, however, marked the first update that has rendered Spotify essentially useless on my Mac. Beyond features, this new app struggles to play a single song... on an app... designed solely for playing songs. The track length (thing at the bottom showing current place in the song) is behind by *minutes* in some songs. The play/pause button lags by about 10-25 seconds between pressing the button/spacebar and getting a response. Moving songs between playlists by clicking and dragging has become very difficult because of lagging. Just overall, a much less stable app has replaced an at least mostly stable, usable one on my computer. Is there something I'm missing? Or something I need to do, or just hold out until a new update and hope that the stability issues are resolved?

When you open up the app, click the search icon and search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.
