New update how to play music on apple tv

I just updated my iPhone 4 and now can't figure out how to play music or videos on my apple tv

iPhone 4 can AirPlay audio just fine, I'd forgotten that it can't do screen mirroring.  It's been so long since I had my iPhone 4 but I'm certain that some apps will allow video output over AirPlay (which is not the same as screen mirroring).  The stock iOS Photo and Video apps could stream pictures and video to ATV, but true mirroring of everything you see on the screen is not supported on iPhone 4.  It isn't iOS 7 that took away this capability, it is a capability that has always been limited with iPhone 4 (and earlier).
If you are sure that your old 3G can output video over AirPlay, which specific apps?  Those same apps should work on the iPhone 4, even with iOS 7.

  • How to get music from Apple TV to play through all 5.1 channels

I recently set up a new 5.1 channel receiver and 5 very nice speakers. However, when I go to play music from Apple TV the sound only comes through to the front left and right speakers. Is there a way to play music through all 5 speakers? Is the receiver a problem? Does a video also have to be playing? It works completely fine when I play a movie through Apple TV, just not music. Help! I would enjoy Apple TV and the speakers more if i could listen to all 5.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Generally speaking music isn't 5.1

  • How to play music through my external hard drive through iTunes on my mac?

I recently purchased a external hard drive for my mac for my movies and music, as my disc was almost full.
I have spent HOURS searching how to play music through my itunes without transferring them onto the mac.
BUT everytime I click media destination folder in prefrences and advance, the whole music library in my external hard drive folder is  greyed out, and when i click it nothing happens.
    PLEASE someone help...

First, a brand new drive is likely formatted for use with Windows.  You need to reformat it for use with Mac.
Pondini: Formatting,  Partitioning, Verifying,  and  Repairing  Disks... - http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DU.html
Second, you are better off moving the whole iTunes library to the external drive, not just the media.
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.
Do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in

  • How to stream music through Apple TV?

Just learning the uses of Apple TV. So I know it mirrors devices & can turn tv into a huge monitor, but what else can it do? How to play music through it, since it's not connected to home stereo?

The Apple TV will not act as a computer in any way.
It connects via wifi to your home network.
Home sharing allows it to show your iPhoto pictures, iTunes content, Apple radio and more through the TV
You can play your Netflix or Hulu membership with Apple TV Apps.
Movies or TV shows purchased or rented can be shown with Apple TV
Many people use a sound bar or are connected to a home theater which improves music quality.
I prefer my Roku to the Apple TV because it has more Apps (Amazon among others)
If you have a Windows PC, rather than a Mac, you should consider Roku not Apple TV

If you are going to change your AppleID login you will need to log out and back in on all your devices. Turn off 'Find My iPhone/iMac/iPod' first or you will find yourself unable to sign out and be stuck.

  • Is there a way for two people to play music on Apple TV.  We both have itunes [she on windows, me on mac [mt lion].

    Use Boot Camp Assistant in
    Applications/Utility
    Remove the partition.
There is also a full pdf help guide built in Help menu there.
There are other methods also. Use OS X DVD and delete it but you can't do so while booted from your hard drive.
Memory = "RAM" that programs use and get loaded into to run
Your partition is part of hard drive physical storage where OS and applications are kept until needed.
And yes, Mac needs to have 20GB or 20% minimum to avoid problems and will run slower with such small amount of free space.
You could also do one of a number of ways to backup and then boot from another device and reformat and then restore your drive.
A "Mac Pro" is a workstation with multiple internal drive bays so really easy to backup, put Windows on its own hard drive; and no need to have someone else do anything - at all.

iTunes Match is available now. You can sign up from your computer and then, on your Apple TV, you can turn iTunes Match on to listen to your iCloud library from the Apple TV.

  • How to play music from iPod through Windows Media Player

I don't want to insult anyone's intelligence .... but just in case anyone hasn't yet figured it out, here's how to play music from your iPod on a computer that does not have iTunes installed:
On your computer, connect the iPod to iTunes and click on it's name. Then under the general tab, check "allow disk use". Your iPod will then act as a USB hard drive and will then show up as a drive in My Computer. Now all you need to do is to create a Music folder on it and then copy all your music to it!
Your iPod's USB hard drive should show up under My Computer on most Windows computers. Therefore providing the computer has Windows Media Player installed, you will be able to play all your music on it! This saves you having to bother with portable/travel speakers, some of which sound terrible anyway!

Mains lead for the computer is a bit of a problem on the bus though!

  • A different apple id appearing when i try to install updates, how can i change that apple id?

a different apple id apearing when i try to install updates, how can i change that apple id?

That's the ID that was used for the purchase.  ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

  • How To play Music File's From computer 2 FireFox By using the New "Audio API", Audio Visualizaion 2D And 3D

and when the beta gonna come out on mac?

    Hi
The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

  • How to play music simultaneously both on my computer and the remote speaker

I have an existing wi-fi station and one Airport Express, but I can not play music simultaneous both on my computer and the remote speaker. I just can select only one speaker.
My iTunes is the latest Windows version 6.03.5, but I can not see the option of "multiple speakers" on the bottom-right menu. What is the problem? How can I do if I want to play music simultaneously both on my computer and the remote speaker?
    Thank you!

On that note, long story short, it was very helpful for me to download the latest firmware. Here's a link for the Windows download. Try this first, if you haven't already. One of the fixes "-Resolves issue with Audio dropout when playing to AirPort Express with AirTunes". Not exactly your issue, but worth a try.

I just purchased my AirPort Express, too bad they don't recommend updating firmware in BIG BOLD LETTERS, and who would think to do so if the equipment is brand new...anyways, good luck.

  • How to play music from my present CD library?

I have an extensive collection of fine music on CDs and DVD. How do I play music on my iMac 27" with Mavericks without having to buy more unneeded discs from iTunes? Find nothing in Apple "help" not my book on Mavericks. Apple doesn't have as much interest in selling fine computing equipment as it does selling goods from the iTunes store.

Not true, personally I have never purchased any music from the iTunes Store and have over a 160GB of music from my CD collection in iTunes.

You can easily Import your CD collection into iTunes.
If you have a newer iMac that does not have a built-in Superdrive, you can use most any USB External Optical DVD Drive to Import your CDs into iTunes.
You may even be able to use your PCs drive, see > DVD or CD sharing: Using Remote Disc
Or move the music from your PC, see > Migrate your Windows files or system to your Mac
