Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Sounds like your microphone might be busted. Test it by doing a voice memo. If this is the case you should take it to your service provider/carrier/nearest apple store to have it looked at.
Alternatively, try using headphones or a bluetooth headset. These are all steps to make sure it's not the mic that's damaged.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

I updated to ios 6 when it first came out and nothing happened till now. My wifi is grayed out and not working and my Bluetooth isn't working too please somone help this is getting annoying. I tried restoring the setting and resetting everything but nothing worked.

IPhone 4S: the Wi-fi is greyed out and the Bluetooth seems unable to initialize.

Several weeks ago, I got a replacement iPhone 4S due to an unrelated issue. Approximately six days after receiving it, I had the wi-fi start sporadically working (it could not stay connected to the wireless network). Within three hours of that, the wi-fi stopped working entirely. The wi-fi toggle was greyed out in the Settings app and I could not activate it. The bluetooth seemed to be unable to get going, either, although I at least saw a spinning "working" symbol instead of gray out. I tried the guidance provided in from the Apple Support site, including restoring, resetting, etc.
A week later (approximately four days ago), I went to an Apple store with the issue. They replaced the phone with another iPhone 4S. The wi-fi seemed to work. However, two days later (Monday, November 25), I observed that the wi-fi was no longer working. It was greyed out. The bluetooth seemed not to work either. I tried resetting it, clearing the network settings, and what not. It did not work it.
Today, I went to the Apple store at lunch time. After some standard troubleshooting, they got a new, replacement phone out for me. When that phone was set up (as a new phone), it wasn't able to connect to the Apple store's wireless. Once it was set up, we observed that the wi-fi was greyed out and could not be activated. The Apple store employee plugged it into a nearby laptop and did a factory reset. When that was done, the wi-fi seemed to work.
I got home roughly an hour ago. I have done little with the phone other than browse a few websites. As I was attempting to download some of the apps I no longer had (as I was *advised* not to restore from my old iPhone backup), the wi-fi disconnected. I went to investigate and it could no longer find any wireless networks. I tried to toggle the wi-fi. Once it was in the off position, it would not return to the on position.
I just completed a factory reset of the phone. As of right now (within 20 minutes of the restore), the wi-fi is still connected and functioning.
I'm already prepared to return to the Apple Store within the next four days because I'm expecting to the wi-fi to fail, again. Luckily, I got the extended AppleCare plan, but if I have to either return my phone to the Apple Store or do factory resets every day, this is not the phone I want.
Has anybody else had similar experiences? Is there an official justification for this, outside of "rumors" of iOS issues? Do I have a Sim Card problem? Or is this just a subtle suggestion from Apple that it's time to get a Windows phone?

It sounds very frustrating that you are unable to use wifi with your iPhone. I do have an article that I would like you to use in order to troubleshoot this, though it sounds as if you have already done some of the steps provided -

Specifically -
Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options.

Question About the New Update Due out this Month

Hi I would like to know when Apple, does come out with the New update this month will it be for the New iPhone, do out on June 9th,2008 or for the People who have the Old iPhone, that will then be out dated?

Firmware update 2.0 will be for all existing iPhones, and for all iPod Touch(es), but iPod Touch owners must pay a nominal fee for the update due to accounting reasons.
Firmware update 2.0 will likely be pre-installed on the 2nd generation iPhone. If not, it can be installed as an update the same as for the first generation iPhone.
Updates for the first generation iPhone will not stop after the 2nd generation iPhone is released. Both will be running the same operating system, with the only hardware difference we know for certain included with the 2nd generation iPhone is a 3G chipset making it a 3G phone.
The first generation iPhone will not become outdated when the 2nd generation iPhone is released. There are some people in the U.S. that don't live in an area where at&t has 3G network coverage, and where at&t doesn't have plans to add 3G network coverage this year or the next.
You purchase a new computer this week, and a new and improved version of the same computer model is released within 6 months or a year. This doesn't make the computer you purchased this week outdated. The same applies to the iPhone.

How to install once NEW update comes out with NFS disc?

I really want to go the UPDATE way and helped someone do this the other day and they did lose ADMIN privileges however, the fix for 10.5 DID work (where you use the install disc and chose repair password), but I do not want to lose my many email accounts as well as any functionality AND of course, Pro Tools/Logic.
So, let's say this new 10.5.01b DOES come out soon, how would one use the LEOPARD disc then the new UPDATE?

You will have to be running Leopard to get any Leopard updates.

New update Video out still doesn't work

apple posted a new update to ipod classic, and the video out isn't grayed out anymore, but when I hook my ipod to my Philips DVD (the one that was made for ipod video, you just place the ipod in the slot), it said "TV Out Enabled Please Connect Video Accessory" it is hook up, so I still get nothing. I bought this DVD player because it was made only for ipods and the ipod doesn't work in it.

I too have the same issue with the 160GB Classic and the Philip DCP 850. I still have time to return it for a refund, but I have already sold my 5.5gen 80GB. This was my fourth ipod and unless a firmware upgrade resolves this in the next 2-3 weeks I guess I too will be among what seems to be the hundreds(here) and likely thousands who are returning theirs.... and how many others just are not buying because of this issue. This is definitely worse than the iPhone pricing issue. Steve Jobs was right about iPhone technology pricing, however callously or clumsily he may have expressed himself. This is just gouging and causing faithful customers like ourselves to have wasted a lot of $$$$$$$ on accessories that he has now crippled or rendered useless. Perhaps Mr Jobs ahould become an oil company executive... then he can really manipulate the population.

I am having an issue getting the new update to download and process.

Ok so here is the deal I have tried to do the update at least 3 times this afternoon and each time it downloads and then says it is processing the file and I get a message that there was a problem and that my network connection has timed out and to try again later. Having at and waited for the download 3 times already I am not real eager to do it again without and answer. I just ant to update my darn phone already, I can't send pics in texts since the update and couldn't connect without wifi all last night which ***** cause I have no wifi at work. My network connection is fie and was working the entire time during download. I had this issue the last update as well but don't remember how I eventually go it to go through. Can anyone help me??

I just did that and waited for the download. This time it said it was corrupted during download to disconnect and reconnect check all network connections are working and active or tey again later. So frustrating, have disconnected and reconnected and am trying to do the update again.

You need to discard or save to an external disk and then discard some of the stuff we all tend to keep forever (movies, music, pictures, docs, apps no longer used, etc.). A clogged up disk also does not function ideally either.

When is the NEW UPDATE coming out??

I am just curious as to when the NEW UPDATE will come out to fix all these bugs still occuring on my iPod 4th Generation! Runs so slow! It lags! It crashes almost every app! I have restored! I have resetted everything! Its still the iOS 5 thats messing things up! So I want this new update to fix every bug that it can so far cause im sick of it all! It doesnt let me know when i get my text or show notifications menu, it lags, it freezes, just so much more! I am sorry for my complaining but its just getting me frustrated enough already!
