New version of iTunes can't sync or see my iPod Touch

I have been using my iPod Touch with iTunes for a few years (PC Windows) then I updated my computer and got the latest version of iTunes. Now, I can't add or delete songs to my iPod Touch. When I try to sync the iPod Touch, songs I've added to the iTunes library don't get added to the iPod Touch. Similar problem with trying to delete songs. I can't even seem to delete them from the I created a new Apple ID and authorised my new computer. My iPod Touch however doesn't appear as a device in iTunes. What do I need to do to get my iPod Touch communicating with this new version of iTunes?

- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Have you recently reinstalled your OS from an older DVD or backup or ued your Library from a different System? Try to update to the newest Version of iTunes  (it should be 10.4.1) from the  Apple Menu -> Software Update.
    That should resolve that problem.

itunes will not sync music to my ipod touch or iphone 3g. Passes all diagonostic tests. copies apps but not music. Any Ideas?

just bought iphone 4 today from verizon and had the same problem. this is my 1st smartphone ever. apps all synced when i plugged it in to my computer except the music. this is what i did and it worked. plugged in phone to computer. then under the devices tab i clicked on the music tab. if you look to the bottom right of the itunes page there will be two tabs you can click on. one says settings and the other one says autofill. i clicked on the autofill and then it just started syncing. that was it. i'm not a tech guy by any means. just kinda of got lucky. i hope this helps you out. good luck!

  • Downloaded new version of itunes, did a sync on my ipod and now music from my external drive is missing?  Help

Downloaded new version of itunes, and then subsequently performed a sync on my ipod nano as I had purchased a new song from itunes store.  I now only have 25 songs on my ipod as it removed all of my other music.  My music is stored on an external drive.  I downloaded the music there from cd's that I own.  Can anyone help me fix this.  I am going on holidays soon and want to have my ipod loaded with music for the trip.  Thanks

    hi mike,
First of all, your music is not gone. Its there, I promise. Second of all, you need to always make sure you backup your music elsewhere because funky things happen and computers do take nosedives.
Ok, go into File on the iTunes Task bar and click on add folder to library. Your music files should be under my documents>my music. Let me know how it goes...

  • HT1926 new version of itune can not install due to old version of itune can not be removed

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Can't sync any apps to iPod Touch? (ver. 2.1.1)

Hi there, can any one tell me why can't I sync apps to my iPod Touch 2 Gen? My firmware ver. is 2.1.1. Thanks

    I'm in a similar boat.
I should have 4 apps installed on my iPod Touch 1st generation (version 2.1), although only 3 appear right now -- I'll get to that in a moment.
My real problem is that the apps do not show up in iTunes. They are not listed in the Applications section nor do they show up on the Applications tab when the iPod is selected. When I connect, the title window indicates that Remote, Koi Pond, and Google Earth are being backed up, but they do not appear anywhere else in iTunes. Music I purchase on the iPod does get transferred to iTunes and appears in the library and in the "Purchased on iPod" list, so the basics seem to be working.
The reason one app is missing has to do with app updates. I obtained the Simplify Media (SM) app while it was free, and there were several updates after that. Trying to download the updates either failed or caused SM to appear a second time. The only solution seemed to be to delete it and then "buy" and download the updated version. That worked acceptably well until somewhere along the line the apps stopped appearing in iTunes. Now SM is no longer free, so my previous purchase seems to have been lost
Does anyone have an idea how to get the apps to become visible in iTunes again?
If I "repurchase" Simplify Media, will the app store realize I previously "purchased" it and let me simply download it again at no additional cost?

  • I can't sync apps onto my ipod touch? Help??

    I use a Mac.
So here's what will happen: I'll log into my account on Itunes, and then I'll connect my ipod touch (2nd generation) to it. I'll then click on Ipod (on the left hand window) and I'll select apps. I've purchased a couple of them, but whenever I click apply to sync, it won't.  I don't need to authorize it or anything, it just won't sync to my itouch. Help?

Are the apps compatible with ipod touch?
Are they compatible with the software version on your ipod touch?

Pretty sure there never was iTunes 4.2.1 and if there was, it did not work with the iPod touch (any version).
    Do you mean iOS 4.2.1?

  • New version of iTunes won't sync with Windows Media library.

Have just installed newest version of iTunes on Windows 7 PC, and also added new music to library in Windows Media Player.  For some reason iTunes is no longer syncing with WMP as it did in the past.   How to fix?

When iTunes is first installed it will offer to scan the computer for content. Thereafter you need to actively add content to the library, either by ripping or downloading with iTunes, adding to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, using the Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library menus, dragging and dropping into iTunes, or playing from Windows Explorer if iTunes is the default media player. There is a tool call iTunes Folder Watch which some people use to automate this process, there may be others. iTunes doesn't do it out of the box.
