New version of Muse

I can't get the new version of Muse to download. The Applications Manager says that it is "installed" but I threw the old version in the trash, emptied the trash and restarted my computer.

Upon launching Adobe Muse, you should be prompted to install the latest version, if there is one. Now, if you are having issues with an installation you should always uninstall the previous release and then install the new one. But there are correct ways to do so. I understand you "threw the old version to the trash". I hope you mean the program icon and not actually all the program files... that could cause serious problems.
Uninstall properly first, doing this: (Ensure all other programs are closed when attempting to install the update).
Uninstall Muse via:
    Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
    Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
    Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
Then reinstall Muse through the Adobe Application Manager doing this:
Reboot your computer.
Launch Adobe Application Manager
Reinstall Muse (using Adobe Application manager)
Muse, as I said, should prompt you when new versions are available. This steps are not always necessary, but they can help troubleshoot certain situations.

How to save a file in the newer version of muse to use it in an older version of muse

I started to work in a project at home with a 30 day trial of the latest Muse, I was going to continue working at school, and I can't open it. So how can I save the file to open it in an older version?

Any file that is saved in the latest version of Muse cannot be opened in any previous of Muse and as of now there is no option available in Muse such that you can save the file in such a manner that it opens in the previous version.

No zoom in feature in new version of Muse

In the old version of Muse when you made your HTML files they would act like all other html files. Now they do not allow the viewer to zoom into and out of a page. This is kinda uber sucky, especially for the mobile version. People will want to zoom in. This is a really important feature and I am hoping you fix this!!!!!

To install the new version of adobe muse (german version).

I have problems to install the new version of muse (german version). Everytime comes a sign which says: The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Ask the application author is a new installation file.

Could you please uninstall the copy of Muse from your machine (In case of Mac, make sure it is deleted from Trash as well) and use the following link to download and install a fresh copy of Adobe Muse :

The thing is, I created a site using Muse last week. Today, I am trying to open it but a message appears saying: <This Adobe Muse site file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. Please update to the latest version>, but when I try to update the app, creative cloud says Muse is up to date and there is no option to update it. I need to solve this urgently please, I really need this file working today.

If you're part of the Beta program for Muse, this dialog would be displayed if the file was opened and saved using a Prerelease/Beta version of Muse. (Once saved with a newer version of Muse, a file can no longer be opened by the older version(s).) If that isn't your situation, please send us the .muse file at [email protected] (along with a link to this thread for context) so we can investigate further. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can send it using a service such as DropBox, WeTransfer, Adobe SendNow, etc. Thanks.

Latest version of Muse?

I'm asking because I was pointed to a Muse update on the Creative Cloud, and all seemed to go well except at the end I was told I have to log in with my Adobe id/pw. Well I tried but kept getting a "could not complete, try again later" message. After several tries I went online and logged in with no problem. But I still do not know if I updated successfully and cannot find the latest version number on Adobe.. My current Muse install says it is Release version v3.0, build 645, CL 772478.
A related question, where is the Muse updater screen located? On the Muse blog it says "If you already have Muse installed, just open the application and click “Install Now” on the updater screen to get these new features." Can't find any updater screen, and all Adobe Application Manager tells me is that Muse is installed.
As an aside, the CC process needs a lot of fixing, but that's a topic for another forum.

Whenever a new version of Muse becomes available, Muse will notify you an update is available when Muse is next launched.

Latest version Adobe Muse does not open

I get the error (see picture) I have installed a clean version of Adobe Air, a new version of Muse, restarted the computer and still get this.
Can someone help I am working on a site at this moment and I need to use Muse.

In case others run into this problem:
One of the folders Muse needs to write to become read-only. To fix on a mac:
In the finder, select Go->Go To Folder, and enter "~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3/" (Without the quotes, including the tilde). Once there, click on File->Get Info, which brings up the info dialog. At the very bottom is a section called "Sharing & Permissions" - click the turn-down to view the section. There should be a table of users and privileges, so make sure that your user is listed. If it is listed, make sure that the privileges are set to "Read & Write". If it isn't listed, click on the little plus button, and add your user. Then set privileges to "Read and Write" as above. Once that is done, take the same steps on the "Local Store" folder that is inside the AdobeMuseCC2014.3 folder.
On Windows, paste "%appdata%/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3/Local Store" into an Explorer window. Right-click, and select Properties. In the properties window, make sure the "Read-Only" checkbox is unchecked. Then, go to the security tab, make sure your profile is in the "Group or user names" section and that when your username is highlighted that "Full control" is checked in the lower window. Do the same for the "Local Store" folder here as well.
Once these permissions are set, this problem should be resolved.

My final project for this quarter in a web design class is due in less than a week. And suddenly, after months of working with this exact file, it won't open. I'm trying to open it in CC (newest version of Muse) at school. At home, I downloaded a trial version of it. I would think the trial version would be the absolute newest version..and even if it wasn't, why can't the even newer version open it? PLEASE help me. And, what do I do if my trial version has expired (I'm not home right now, so I can't check..) and I can't open it to fix it (if that's what I needed to do..)?
Note: at school we have CC, always updated. At home I have CS6, but downloaded a trial version of Muse. So, I would think the trial version would be the newest and CC not CS6. I don't know, though!

You may need to design the site again in older version OR may be copy and paste in place from new to old except what is new in the latest version.

How do you replace an existing MUSE site with a completely new version?

I am working on a complete revamp of my MUSE website.
I do not want to take down the current one until the new version is ready...
Do I have to delete the current version and then relaunch the new one?
The site is being hosted by Business Catalyst.

Hello,
You can publish the new site as trial to business catalyst. Once the site is ready to be live, you can republish it to your existing URL via Muse itself.
This will overwrite the current live site.
In case you do not want to delete the current live site, you will have to remove domain from current site and add it to this newly published site.
The previous version will then be accessible by business catalyst URL.

I installed it and tried to start Muse again.
Muse still asks for new version.
Under APPs I find Muse as updated to newest version.
I also started my Mac new.
Nothing helps.
Please give me a hint. (your suggestion).

Hi Markus,
If you did not removed the previous version, you should have two icons on your desktop. Adobe Muse and Adobe Muse CC 2014. Make sure you are clicking on Muse CC 2014, not on Adobe Muse. Better to remove older version and check it again, it should be fine.
