New version of Thunderbird (24.5) does not download e-mail -
When prompted to get mail, says it's connected to gmail or other server, does not send log-in info, does not retrieve messages.
What is happening, how can I correct this?
Check to see if your firewall is blocking Thunderbird after the upgrade. I have had two people fix this problem by resetting their firewall to Allow for Thunderbird.

Having a variety of crashes with the new version of Firefox. There does not seem to be a pattern
Several things have happened since the installation of the latest version of FireFox:
1. Intermittent opening of the browser from the desktop.
a) Opens in safe mode no problem provided shift key is used.
b) Opens sometimes and remains open
i) Sometimes page switches cause the browser to close
ii) Sometimes page switches continue as expected
c) Opens then closes a few seconds later
2. Intermittent opening of project pages from BOINC
a) Sometimes opens and allows browsing of the science projects website
b) Opens then immediately closes
c) Opens and page switches cause the browser to close
There does not seem to be a discernible pattern to what is going to happen each time the browser is opened.
The only crash report I have was submitted November 2010. I am not aware of any crash reports that have been generated for the current problems on my system.

Page File C:\pagefile.sysMy observation so far is that if you just type keywords, Mail wants to search everything. The reason for the missing results, I think, is because the email is not getting indexed properly. If you rebuild, then things get indexed correctly.
I tried your idea with the quote. Now, no matter what I type, I always get a set of options. But I cannot tell if that was enabled by the quote or if it was already going to do that, because now I don't need the quote to get a list of various options. The first, which I've always gotten is "message contains", but now I'm seeing subject suggestions and such.
Very confusing. I'm wondering if spotlight hasn't been doing some incremental work in the background that we don't know about, and some things will just magically start working now. -
I am worried about downloading the latest version of yosemite on my macbook pro "10.7.5" for the reason that downloading the latest version for iphones actually killed my phone.
IT would not turn off anymore and the battery died in about 3 hrs even without use.
My friend did it and said he is unable to use iphoto anymore from his computer and other things are not functioning as well.
Any help on this.?

Since the new downloads on my phone ""which is useless now"" i am sooo upset at them for not caring about the amount of money it cost me for their wrongful versions.
I can't afford to lose my computer as well as the phone just for new versions?.As long as you don't have any carpware on your Mac such a so called "cleanup" software, AV software, memory cleanup apps or the like, you should not have any problems at all.
If you are that concerned with Yosemite then I would suggest that you create a partition and install and test Yosemite on the partition.
Once you have tested in its own partition when you find that are no problems then you can move it to your production partition.
Since I am a member of the beta test team, I always run the beta code in its own partition. When I am going to do some testing I reboot to the partition with the beta code and test over there. -

Thanks for the information. I am a bit nervous about the method because I get a "serious" warning when I put the command in the URL. Also, I wonder if you know the answer to this: Someone/Firefox pushed an upload tab to me. That is the best way I can explain what happened. Now, sometimes I get an ! in a triangle, sometimes I get an outdated message with the Firefox logo in place of the ! and sometimes it does not show an icon indicating the program is out of date. They were both functioning fine yesterday, but after the v.11 download today they aren't being recognised. Can anyone help me to get them syncing again? I am using an iMac, Mac OS X v.10.7.5, if thats of any significance.
Disconnect your devices then reboot your computer.
Before connecting your devices again reboot your devices. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -
I can no longer open any attachments that are sent to me. I click on and get cannot preview (but have had this for ages). I am clicking on download and nothing happens. It does not download. I clicked to install a new version after updating and clicking repair. But still the attachments won't open including invoices I have received today. It is all attachments not just pdfs.

In previous version of Thunderbird it was possible to set that incoming attachments are shown as "Read only". The solution was to set browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit as TRUE. In the latest version, no matter how I set this value,. the attachments ARE NOT shown as Read Only. As I need my attachments to be shown as Read Only, I had to restore older versions of Thunderbird. Does anybody have an idea how I can solve this in the new version of Thunderbird ?

I don't see a solution on these links. I am not a computer expert, but it was easy to fix in previous versions of Thunderbird. I can't do it now with the latest version, on either Windows 7 or 8. -

When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

And which version of Windows do you have?
NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there. -
Below issue is with only one client in that untrusted domain. So boundary is not the issue.

That looks like the system you are installing on previously had an MP on it. I would delete the ccm namespace in WMI, cleanup all reference to ccm and Configuratin Manager from the registry, and then try again.

There is no license required for iWeb. Just do a Wyodor suggested and you'll be ready to go. If you're running Lion however, consider the following:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

I bought Adobe Elements 12; I cannot use panorama photomerge, I have followed the directions to go to Full Edit mode in edit workspace> choose File> New> Photomerge. However the Photomerge does not work, it does not respond.

Obviously I have seen your post, and sorry you are having problems. Unfortunately this is likely to be because you did not take enough care on the Internet. It is all too easy to go to bad websites and pick up malware that once downloaded does things you may not like or expect.

First thing to try, check which search engine is selected ? <br /> Because this is so simple and could have an effect it is worth checking what Search engine is selected for the Firefox Searchbar. You may have changed that, or software may have,and that will affect other searches including those from the address bar and the start page. All you need to do is click the little downward pointing arrowhead in the search bar and check what is in use and what is available. In most countries Firefox uses Google by default.
Check the shortcut Icons - has an address been added ? <br> Right click the icon on the desktop used to start Firefox has an address been tacked on to the end of that. If something has changed that Firefox goes to that address as it starts up. For comparison use a run command directly. In Windows & with Firefox not already open Use keyboard shortcut Winkey+Run then when you get the run option key in ''firefox.exe'' & hit return. That will run Firefox without any extra instruction.
Adware removal<br />
I you have got adware, or unwanted software especially if it also affects other browsers (So check the use of Internet Explorer) look for anything unexpected installed in the Windows OS, use the Windows Control Panel. especially if only Firefox is affected check what is installed as extensions and plugins by using the addons manager.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
