Paul

Hi Paul
I am very glad to hear that you are very satisfied. I use Tecra notebooks for a long time (because of my work) but I am also interested about Qosmio series. Qosmio G20 is my favorite but for a short time I bought TV with HDMI port.
I believe that Toshiba will create new Qosmio notebooks with this port. On this way I will connect it to my LCD TV and have the best possible picture quality.
Good luck and have nice time with your new toy!

  • Qosmio G10 - Sound speaker quality

Hi Guys, have any of you qosmio g10 owners experience pretty ordinary sound from your speakers (harman/kardon), specially when you turn up the volume? music cds,mp3s,even movies,, the speakers dont seem to handle bass well at all? i did call toshiba and they will take a look at my machine..i would just like to know if its just me or have all you guys experience the same problem..to my understanding the sound quality of this machine should be excellent crisp and very clear..any input would be much appreciated cheers..

    Hi
I am also owner of Qosmio G10. I must tell you that I am very satisfied with sound and very powerful harman/kardon speakers. The only thing that I can advice to you is to check all sound settings. Please check all settings in Toshiba virtual sound tool especially Restore default settings if the basic Settings is switched to ON.
I have noticed that all options there have a strong influence on sound quality and there is possible to set the optimal sound quality for every sort of music.
    My configuration is:
    Speaker Size 200Hz
    TruBass Level 75%
    FOCUS Level 76%
Don`t forget that every player has an own equalizer and there you can also try to find out which setting is the best one for your requirements.
    Bye

  • Qosmio G10: News Flash - Great News for Capturing!!

I own a Qosmio G10. I live in Australia and purchased the notebook here. I like to keep things upto date and was scanning the Australian Toshiba website when I came across a special up-date for Qosmio owners Here's the link
    http://www.isd.toshiba.com.au/cgi-bin/ai1.exe/topic/content/driver_search_list.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1490231535 .1109544574@@@@&BV_EngineID=eaddckkmlflebfdhcjkcfg ldkf.0&theAction=true&CATOID=-15058&MODE=NPRO&ProductMenu_0=Notebooks&ProductMen u_1=Qosmio&ProductMenu_2=897343&x=21&y=4
I am yet to try it but have installed it and using WinDVD creator I can choose to capture from S-video, Composite video or TV tuner. This may be just what we've all been waiting for. You can change the quality settings as well. I've looked on the international Toshiba website and can't find it. Anyway I hope it works for you all. There are some release notes for the utility on the page as well. Good luck!

  • Qosmio G10 with new graphic card and pcb - Tools CD Update doesn't work

    Hi everybody
I hope you can help me. Before a few weeks I received my Toshiba Qosmio G10 back from the support, because the notebook didn't work anymore. So I get it back with a new Grafic card and a new PCB. With my Notebook I get a CD which is called update Tool CD-Rom and an instruction sheet, where it says that you have to boot with this update Tool CD-Rom after you had installed the Windows with the reovery CD.
So I made it, but when I know put the update Tool CD-Rom in and I boot with it, the computer installs something but after a short while there comes a message that it is a different model and that I have to put a button to shut down the Notebook. So i made it but the Windows doesn't start.
Why is that so? I had everything done which was said on the instruction sheet.
    Please help me

    Hello
It will be interesting to find out more about this update Tool CD-Rom. Is there Toshiba label? Can you please write what is described there?

  • I'm a new proud owner of an iMac 21.5

Hello, I'm a new proud owner of an iMac 21.5. Formerly G5 owner who frequently visited the
Power Mac forums. Due to finances it took a while to move on to a better computer and I was having so many issues w/my G5 that I couldn't stand to deal w/it anymore after several fixes resulting in more hassle.
So now, moving on I plan to take much better care of this baby and check up on any issues resulting from downloading, updating, n general maintenance.
I took it out of the box and have already updated to 10.6.3
So now what, (I'm seeing a huge list of software updates from the drop down menu)...

The only advantage to doing updates from Apple's website is if you have skipped multiple updates on the OS itself, in this case you would use the Combo update. For example if you got Snow Leopard which is 10.6 and skipped updates to 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 but wanted to go to 10.6. In that case you would download the 10.6.3 Combo update. The Combo update is recommended in this case because it includes information from 10.6.1 & 10.6.2. BTW it isn't necessary to do a Permissions Repair with every update, however it won't do any harm either. The only time it's really recommended when doing updates is if it's an update to the OS itself for example an update from 10.6.2 to 10.6.3, on other updates it's probably a waste of time.
If you follow Software Update you won't have any problems, just check it weekly, follow any update instructions and your system will run smoothly.

  • Qosmio G10 - new hard drive

There are two hard drives in this Toshiba Qosmio G10 machine, a 56 GB & a 40 GB - looks as if the 40 has failed.
Is this simply a metter of popping in a replacement drive? Here is the link to the drive I speak of....
    http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/2.5-inchHardDiskDrives/MK4026GAX
What needs to be done? Time to put in a bigger drive? Use a an external housing for this drive with a USB connection, providing that this drive works outside of the machine? Probably the "C" drive will fail next. Can the two drives be replaced with one larger drive or what?

Replacing the hard drive is relatively simple since you are going with the same GB model as original.
I could not find this model to rview its configuation specs, but it has to be assumed it was setup this way due to processor ability to handle. Best option would be to call Toshiba customer service/tech support and let authorize a replacement so that you feel competent the unit will function as you desire.  You can even use the ASK IRIS option for immediate chat aspect.  Good luck,

  • Qosmio G10-133 - need Keyboard Part No

I have a Qosmio G10-133 for about 5 months, but alas a small picture fell and damaged the keyboard. It broke one key luckily, and one that isn't used much!!! The |\ key. But it is still a pain. I could claim on my household insurance, but I wont.
I am trying to find the correct part number. How easy is it to install a replacement? I recently changed a hard drive for a friend in other notebook, and keyboard removal replacement seemed very easy. What is it like on the Tosh?
[Edited by: admin on 09-Oct-05 13:36]

I just couldn't be sure as one website like www.laptopbits.co.uk says:
    Toshiba Replacement Keyboard UK Specification
New Toshiba original spare part for the following range of laptops - UK keys part number P000349000, P000405490 or P000367420
Suitable for the following Toshiba Laptops
    Qosmio E10, Qosmio F10, Qosmio G10
    Satellite 1410 series & 2410 series
    Satellite A40 and M30
    Price each 55 + VAT
Usually ships: same day for next day delivery
    P000367420
    Price each
    64.63
    Qty required
So I wasn't sure, as I can get the part no P000367420 fairly a reasonable amount secondhand. But I am uncertain what the difference is between this one and the one you quote? Any ideas? Will this part no work on a g10?
Kind regards to all who are helping.

  • New MacBook Air owner

    Hi there!
I am a very proud new owner of a MBA 11inch with 64GB drive.
REally very happy with it and will be using it primarily for work etc when I am out of the office and out and about.
Can anyone suggest a number of business apps that really made a difference for them. Would like some recommendations etc that helps me stay in touch with mails and especially file sharing.
    Thx

    Welcome to Mac!
I use the Office for Mac 2011 suite. Can be a bit pricey, but look around, esp if you are a student you can get better pricing.
If not, Apple's own apps (iWork) are good also. (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) http://www.apple.com/iwork/
If you're on a tight budget, there are some open-source apps out there also:
    Open Office http://www.openoffice.org/
    Neo Office http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php
Libre Office (the new boy on the block) http://www.libreoffice.org/
Personally I didn't like Neo Office, but I did like Open Office.
    Libre, I haven't used yet.
    Best of luck!

  • Qosmio G10-106: No warranty but motherboard was replaced free of charge

    Hey there.
I have my toshiba QOSMIO G10 since 2005 and this year my graphic just went bad for any reason, my bad was I had my warranty already expired, so I called Toshiba to inform myself about the price of the mainboard as the graphic card is integrated with it.
It was absurd with VAT will cost me £630.00, I fell frustrated and I resolved to call Toshiba to make a complaining as a did. They returned my call telling me
They will change my mainboard FREE OF CHARGE and they did it in "48 hours" unbeliveble.
It was amazing and grateful. So if someone is having the same problem as i had just call them.
PS. this is my second Toshiba computer i can tell you after that i will love toshiba forever and i fell so happy and proud to have had purchased my computer from a respectable company as Toshiba.

I saw you have already posted you issue here in this thread:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=21291
Hey Marcelo thanks for sharing this info with us! I think the Toshiba support is really NOT bad and you message confirms this fact!
    Thanks for feedback

  • Qosmio G10-133 & Vista can not recognise my memory stick

    Hi,
I have installed VISTA on this laptop, and I have had a few problems as you can imagine!!!!
I can not get it to recognise my memory stick. I can't find any drivers and Windows can not solve the problem.
    Anybody got any clues?
I am also having a problem if I power off the laptop. The only way I can get the power on button to work is to remove the mains cable and the battery and then I can power on the laptop. If I don't remove the power cable and the battery, I get a green light on the power button, or no light at all, and pressing it seems to do nothing. I also get a flashing orange light on the mains power light at the front of the laptop. I assume it is something to do with the computer thinking it has hibernated or something?

    What to say buddy.
The Vista is not supported on the Qosmio G10 series officially and therefore the Vista drivers dont exists for this series.
Fact is that you need an card reader driver to use the memory sticks. But as I said above such drivers are not released and dont exists.
What you can do is to check the drivers for G30 but Im very skeptical that this will work on G10.

  • Qosmio G10 Graphics and Sound driver installation

    Hi
I have recently tried to reinstall my Toshiba Qosmio G10 after downloading all the latest drivers of the Toshiba site.
Unfortunately I have had my motherboard and display replaced over the last 3 years (under Warranty) , which means all the hardware has changed from the original laptop I bought (now has Graphics card ,NVIDIA GeForce go 6600, new chipset, etc, as far as i remember).
Does anyone have a system recovery cd or a place I can download the correct drivers for this laptop.
I am a sys admin, and technical and have spent about 5 hours pulling out my hair trying to get the video and sound drivers working.

    Hi!
It is pretty easy to get drivers for a Toshiba notebook.
Did you search on Toshiba website?
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
Search for Qosmio G10 and then you will find it.

  • Qosmio G10-100 - failure afer HDD replacement with larger HDD

Following a HDD failure in a Qosmio G10-100, I replaced the current IDE 80GB HD with a 160GB IDE drive. After running the recovery DVD, new HDD was formatted and the software successfully installed (subsequently proved by removing the drive and treating as an exterrnal HDD on another PC).
However, on booting up, the machine recognised that this was a different hard drive and would not let me proceed beyond the screen that offered alternatives (Safe Mode, etc), neither of which would allow me access.
    Any advise greatfully received

Many thanks for looking at this issue Paulo30 and Syntax. To answer your questions:
    a) I have installed the Windows OS using the Toshia recovery disc on the new 160GB HDD
    b) I have now repeated the procedure twice following the failure of the PC to successfully start up
    c) What appears to be the correct file structure and files have been written to the drive (confirmed by removing the HDD and looking at its contents on another PC)
    d) I also repeated the procedure using the original 80 GB HDD and still no joy
    e) I get an error message that begins with the following:
' We apologise for the inconvenience but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this'
    f) The 80GB HDD was a replacement installed by Toshiba under warranty when the original drive failed and the operating system was installed on this new drive by them but not using my recovery DVDs
What I think I understand from the above is that because the hardware configutation is not exactly the same as when first installed at the factory (HDD in this case has changed) at the time my Toshiba recovery disc was created, this has caused a glitch with the recovery procedure.
I am sure that I am not the first person to be in this position and wonder if there is a simple solution
    Many thanks

  • Qosmio G10-100 - optical drive replacement and IDE01

I just replaced my DVD optical drive on my Toshiba Qosmio G10-100 with a Product Number Optiarc AD7543A drive but I get an IDE01 error message at start up.
At first the DVD optical drive worked then Toshiba did not recognize drive. Any solutions?

Joao is right. If you use non-compatible device the pin assignment is not the same and the new device is not recognized by BIOS. To avoid all those problems check users manuals document and try to obtain the compatible ODD.
