New vfstab entries after upgrade to 10

I just did a regular upgrade from solaris 8 to solaris 10 (NO live upgrade or flash upgrade). What are the new entries in vfstab (/devices devfs, ctfs /system/contract, objfs /system/object, sharefs /etc/dfs/sharetab).
What can I get rid of so I have a clean system (I don't run nfs)?
Thanks

What are the new entries in vfstab (/devices devfs, ctfs /system/contract, objfs /system/object, sharefs /etc/dfs/sharetab). They are filesystem interfaces to new kernel systems. Just like /proc has been an interface to process information, and /etc/mnttab changed from a static file to a kernel structure.
What can I get rid of so I have a clean system (I don't run nfs)? I suppose it might be possible to remove the sharefs thing, but I don't know what will break. Nothing else is associated with NFS. Devices have been moved from static files to in-kernel. Contracts are a new form of process groups. SMF uses them as well.

  • Query on new Authorization Objects after Upgrade&SAP_NEW profile

    Dear Experts,
    We have upgraded our system from 4.5 to 7.0 version,  i  was checking what are the new authorization Objects  introduced after upgrade comparing older system ojects.  I got few objects which are new in upgraded system,
    But when i check SAP_NEW profile,   and in the latest profile SAP_NEW_7000 profile i can not see all those new Ojects which are new.
    generally SAP_NEW should contain all new objects which come after upgrade?  i can see those in SAP_ALL  but not in SAP_NEW
    is there any issue  in system?  how should I know and where should i check what are the new Objects come in upgrade,
    Please advise.
    Thanks#Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Jurjen Heeck ,
    see my previous post
    I did 'nt get this.
    SAP_NEW is your friend here
    does the SAP_NEW profile contains all the new authorization Objects.

  • How do I get my old iweb sites into the new iweb 08 after upgrading?

    I upgraded and now the new iweb 08 does not see all my old web site pages. How do Igetnthem into the new application?

    I had a similar issure after buying a new iMac and trying to get my iweb sites onto the new computer. I called Apple tech support and they told me to copy the file "domain.site" form the user/library/application support/iweb folder from my old imac into the iweb folder located in the same directory on my new computer. Once it is copied to the new location, double click on the "domain.site" file and it should open in the new iweb program. They told me to check all the pages to make sure it works OK in the program. My problem is that the new iweb program crashed everytime I double click on the "domain" file. Hope this helps.

  • Can't save new comm channels after upgrade to PI 711

    I've been provided a recently upgraded PI system, 7.11 from 7.1.
    After creating a new comm channel and adapter type, and trying to save, the following error is displayed:
    "The chosen Adapter Engine has version 710 but the chosen Adapter Metadata has version 711. Use Adapter Metadata with the same or with a lower version as the Adapter Engine instead"
    At the beginning I couldn't even see the File/RFC/Idoc/... adapter type of SWCV 7.11. I could only select the adapter types of SWCV 7.10. so I imported the ESR content for SWC SAP_BASIS 7.11. Now when selecting the adapter type I have both versions, 7.10 and 7.11.
    I suspect some post upgrade operation was skipped, but I'm not sure.
    Thanks

    Dear Jorge,
    I do have the same issue.
    My PI 7.11 system is sending its data, RZ70 for ABAP and SLD_DATA_Supplier for JAVA - to our SAP Solution Manager.
    SAP Solution Manager's SLD runs on SAP NetWeaver 7.01.
    PI's SLD runs on SAP NetWeaver 7.11.
    What do you mean by local SLD ?
    Do you mean that my PI system must pointed to its own SLD, running on SAP NW 7.11 ?
    Thanks

  • Can't import new CD's after upgrade

    Yesterday evening when I logged into iTunes I saw there was a new upgrade (to Version 9) so I went for it, now I'm not so sure that was a good idea.
    After the upgrade when I try to import a new CD I receive the dreaded "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    I've re-installed ITunes and run the diagnostic on both my CD and DVD/RW drives and was told that the drives passed the test. I can listen to songs that are already loaded to iTunes, I can access the Itunes store and I can listen to the radio... but when I try to import a CD iTunes still crashes. Also, when I try to run the "Network Connectivity Tests" iTunes crashes.
    HELP

    I'm having very similar experience. Can't import any new CDs. Get same message as Stevo. Reinstalled iTunes. Checked for updates. Same results.
    I can listen to songs already in iTunes and even burned some digital files of LPs through a USB (although very, very slow compared to previous version of iTunes) but every time I import a new CD, I get the same message. I have also gotten the message twice when performing simple tasks (once even just scrolling through my library) immediately after loading.
    I'm considering going back to the previous version of iTunes, bringing in iTunes music folder, and using my previous library file to try to keep my playlists, etc. Will this work?
    Any suggestions, help? PLease!

  • Write-behind cache not removing entries after upgrade to 3.2

    We recently upgraded tangosol.jar and coherence.jar from version 3.0 to version 3.2. After the upgrade, our write-behind caches began consuming all available memory and crashing the JVMs because the entries were not being removed from the cache after being written to the database. We rolled back to the 3.0 jars without making any other modifications and the caches behave as expected. We'd really like to move to 3.2 for the improved network fault tolerance, but we need to resolve this issue first.
    What changes were made in 3.2 with respect to write-behind caches that might cause this issue? I've reviewed our configuration and our code and can't find anything unusual, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for.
    Any ideas?

    I've opened an SR, but I haven't heard back. In the meantime, I've continued digging and I've noticed something strange - in the store() method of our backing map implementation, we take the entry that we just persisted and remove it from the backing map.
    In my small-scale local tests, the size of the map is 1 when we enter store() and is 0 when we leave, as expected. If we process another entry using the 3.0 jars, it's again 1 and then 0. However, it gets more interesting with the 3.2 jars - the size of the map is 1 when we enter store() the first time and 0 when we leave, but if we process another entry, the size is 2 when we enter and 1 when we leave. This pattern continues such that both values increase by 1 every time we process an entry.
    This would imply that we're either removing the entries incorrectly, or they're somehow being reinserted into the map.
    Any ideas?
    Here's the body of our method (with a bunch of sysouts added to the normal logging because this app won't run correctly under a debugger):
            * Store the specified value under the specific key in the underlying
            * store, then remove the specific key from the internal map and hence
            * the cache itself. This method is intended to support both key/value

            * @param oKey   key to store the value under
            * @param oValue value to be stored
            * @throws UnsupportedOperationException if this implementation or the
            *                                       underlying store is read-only
            public void store(Object oKey, Object oValue)

                System.out.println("map storing  " + oKey);
                System.out.println("Size before = " + mapBacking.entrySet().size());
                Iterator entries = mapBacking.entrySet().iterator();
                while (entries.hasNext()) {
                    System.out.println("entry = " + entries.next());
                String storeClassName = getCacheStore().getClass().getName();
                Logger log = Logger.getLogger(storeClassName);
                log.debug(storeClassName + ": In store method.  Storing " + oKey);
                long cFailuresBefore = getStoreFailures();
                log.debug(storeClassName + ": failures before=" + cFailuresBefore);
                super.store(oKey, oValue);
                long cFailuresAfter = getStoreFailures();
                log.debug(storeClassName + ": failures afer=" + cFailuresAfter);
                if (cFailuresBefore == cFailuresAfter)  {
                    log.debug(storeClassName + ": About to remove");
                    mapBacking = RemoveOnStoreRWBackingMap.this;
                    Converter converter = mapBacking.getContext().getKeyToInternalConverter();
                    System.out.println("removed " + mapBacking.remove(converter.convert(oKey)));
    //                System.out.println("removed " + mapBacking.getInternalCache().remove(converter.convert(oKey)));

  • Cannot open new finder window after upgrading to Maverick 10.9.2

    Hello friends,
    I am experiencing a very strange issue.
    I cannot access the contents of my files via the finder. I can access my files via open or save as from separate applications.
    I have tried the following:
    Finder ---> New Finder Window (finder flashes or switches to an existing open application)
    Double-clicking on existing folders (finder flashes or switches to an existing open application)
    Double-clicking on the icon of my Macintosh HD (finder flashes or switches to an existing open application)
    From Dock, click on downloaded document and choose "Open in Finder" (finder flashes or switches to an existing open application)
    From iPhoto, select a photo, and select "Reveal in Finder" (nothing happens)
    Restart machine has not fixed the issue
    After several tries, I get an error displaying that there was an issue with the finder.
    I am running Maverick 10.9.2

    Unfortunately, Finder is a part of OS level files. So, we have a couple of options.
    First off, let's see if there's a software conflict somewhere. Boot into safe mode (boot the comptuer with the shift key held down) and try there. If it works in safe mode, odds are we either have a 3rd party KEXT or application blocking its launch. Check your login items (Apple -> System Preferences -> users & groups -> select your user -> login items), and disable them.
    Also check your startup items (you'll have to do this in safe mode as it requires Finder).
    /library/startupitems
    If Safe Mode/removing startup/login items doesn't work:
    First, boot in to the recovery partition (boot the computer with command + r held down). Launch disk utility, and repair both disk permissions and the disk. Reboot and try again.
    If that fails, boot into recovery again, and reinstall.

  • New iMac slower after upgrade to Yosemite...

    I recently (2-3 months ago) purchased a 21.5 inch iMac, with the following specs:
    Mavericks OS X
    1 GB Fusion HD (The HD contains approx. 500 GB of data, i.e. +/- a little over half full)
    3.1 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB DDR3
    I use the BlueTooth keyboard, trackpad and mouse.
    Connected to it, via a Lightning cable, is a 4 TB external HD for my media and vast iTunes library.
    I also use Bose external speakers.
    I run Parallels 9, (fully updated) to be able to access and run certain business related programmes, that I absolutely cannot run on an Apple, specifically, Airbus CBT (computer based training) courses.
    I was immensely happy with the machine. It was fast, the graphics are awesome and it was a pleasure to work with. Frankly, it runs Windows 7 in parallel, faster than any PC I've ever seen, but I honestly only use it when I absolutely have to!
    When Yosemite became available, I immediately upgraded to it, as was the plan from the beginning. The upgrade went without a hitch, save to say, there was a short power interruption during the download. I followed the instructions and installed the new OS, and commenced using it. I immediately noticed that upon switching between applications and programmes, there was a several second delay between clicking or selecting the app, thereafter the colour "thinking wheel" would appear for several more seconds and only then would the selected task or operation happen, allowing further selections or options to be made. This is a very noticeable and annoying delay, sometimes as much as 10 seconds, that did not occur whilst using Mavericks.
    Even within certain apps or programmes, for example, mail, there are these same delayed responses. For example - if I click on the reply tab, there is a 3 to 4 second delay, followed by the coloured wheel for another 3 to 4 seconds, before the reply mail appears and I'm able to continue. So too, in iTunes, if I select a different track, or move between movies and music, there is this seemingly incessant delay between selections and activity. Granted, I have a vast media collection on an external drive, but it is via a Lightning connection. I don't remember USB connections being as slow...
    I spent several minutes yesterday, on the phone to an Apple Care specialist in Europe, discussing another problem with my MacBook Pro, and when I mentioned this, he suggested several things to try - forcing Spotlight to re-index the drive, etc, and even he at this early time, was able to find where in Yosemite you can see if this process, (re-indexing) is being carried out - but nothing seems to have improved anything.
    Am I being unreasonable in expecting it all to run as smoothly and as quickly as it used to? Should I have waited before upgrading my machine? Did I do anything wrong or can you suggest anything that might restore my pride and joy to it's original lightning fast like behaviour?
    Cheers and thanks in advance for any help or recommendations you might have.
    Clive Lake

  • Duplicate ical entries after upgrade to icloud

    Hi,
    Have no idea why this has happened, but basically I have been syncing using itunes manually via a cable, got the email from Apple to upgrade, went through the process, now its all on icloud, but I have noticed I have dupliate ical entries.
    what is the best way to sort this out now?

    ok, I just used the app iCal Dupe Deletor and it found 500 dupes, went through and deleted them all
    BUT.... when iCal updated to icloud, it just brought them all back from what I can see and they are all there again
    whats the best fool-proof way of sorting this?
    pleeeease there, so close but yet so far.....

  • Lost all my diary entries after upgrading from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5!t

    I just upgraded my iPhone 4S to a iPhone 5... The transferring of information was fairly painless. EXCEPT I've lost all my calender entries for the standard issue iPhone calender as well as my Female tracker.... This is important information and I cannot seem to get access to it even though I backed up everything. What can I do? I'm going to miss important appointments!
    Erin

    Did you keep your calendar elsewhere? Or only on the iPhone calendar?

  • Mail app new messages badge after upgrade to iOS 7

    I just upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 and here's one of the issues that this brought up:
    I rely on the Mail app to see if I get any new messages and now my badge shows 3553 new messages When I open the Mail app though it doesn't show any new messages (with their blue dots).
    Is there any way to reset the Mail app badge back to 0 or none-shown?

    No, but there are other apps that will give you that view of your calendar information. Week Cal is one.

  • How do I remove the double calendar entries after upgrading to ios5?

    Upgraded to ios5 today on an iPhone 4.  I'm now getting double calendar entries.  It's not carrying over to my Mac though.  Any ideas how to rid my phone of them?  Thanks!

    I was having the same problem and even started deleting some of the double entries. I went into the "calendars" tab on the top left of the screen inside the calendar app and found that the appointments from my Mac calendars were being displayed along with (scroll down) all the appointments from the iCloud calendars (which are a mirror or backup of the appointments from my Mac). I turned-off the iCloud calendars and the problem was fixed. I guess if I am coordinating appointments from several devices (iPhone and iPad or several family iPhones) I would just leave the iCloud calendars on and turn off my Mac calendars. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's happening here. Any other ideas?

  • Can't add new calendar entries after losing all calendar entries

    I have asked about retrieving lost calendar entries that I had nothing to do with deleting.
    Went to ICloud and there are no entries there, either, even though the calendar is turned on in Settings on my IPhone 5s.
    I tried adding new entries to the calendar and it will not accept them.
    What is up here?????

    Hi,
    I discovered the same yesterday when I tried to create a calendar item. Also got a weird bug on my iPad where in week / landscape mode I can't swipe right unless I swipe left a little and then get some momentum to swipe right.

  • Can't make calendar entries after upgrade to OS5

    I recently upgraded my iphone 3gs from OS4 to OS5.01.  Now I cannot make any calendar entries.  The + sign in Calendar is no longer visible.  I have seen a few other reports of this in other discussions, but so far no solutions.  Is there a fix available for this?  If not, can I revert back to OS4.x which worked fine and wait for a future release of OS5?

    Problem resolved.  Went to Settings > iCloud and turned on Calendar.
