New VIA 4in 1 drivers

I used auto update to download and install the new 4.51 VIA 4in1 drivers and had nothing but issues running them. The system would do a reboot every 30 minutes or so ....I went back to the 4.49 and it all works fine...anyone else have any issues????

Hi Husker_Faithfull
I have been running the 4in1 version 4.51 Pro "BETA" package with no issues.
The alternate site that VIA has listed to get this PRO version is:
http://www.hardtecs4u.com/files/via/     It's a german site or the direct d/l link is:
http://www.3dcht4u.de/ht4u/t13fgendz/via/4in1451Pro.zip
Remember that this version is not MS HQL Certified but others that have installed it that have the same VIA chipsets that we do ...are reporting that it improved game playing frame rates and was a stable build for them.....

  • NEW VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers for KT4AV BAD

Ok heres the problem. I have a KT4AV-L motherboard and I wanted to update the VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers. While I was installing it and when it reached 100%, the screen went black and wouldn't boot back up. I had to hit the restart button to reboot Windows again. Doesn't anyone also have this problem with the new VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers V4.51 on the KT4AV motherboard?

I haven't heard of this, but I know if not installing under Safe Mode the driver install often hang at the last percent.

  • New VIA 5.07 Drivers - Anyone Installed them yet?

Has anyone bravely installed these yet? There seems to have been an update to the AGP driver and I'm wondering if it may solve the ATI 9800 Pro at 8X problems.

Well took the plunge. The driver installed without issue but the update to AGP didn't fix the 9800 Pro running at 8X AGP. Don't Think I'll be buying another VIA chipset anytime soon.

  • VIA SATA RAID Drivers

I lost the floppy disk containing the VIA SATA raid drivers for Windows Installation. My M/B is the KT600 FISR. So I kinda need the drivers as I am setting up a SATA drive.
Can someone please say where I can get the drivers, or email me the attached drivers.
    My email is:
    [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Sam

I am worried my floppy drive controller or something on the motherboard is not working. I tried the floppy disk containing drivers and Windows Installer said still said "Please insert the manufactuer's disk", I took out the disc and got the same message.
Then I booted up Windows Installer with the same floppy disk in a different MSI motherboard (a P4 mobo I have) and it detected the drivers fine.
Tried all the updated drivers you specified, and the floppy drive reads fine from Windows and is brand new (same problem with old one which I replaced only to find the same problem :
The mobo is still under warranty, should I give MSI / dabs.com a call?

  • New VIA driver pack

VIA Hyperion 4in1 v4.46, released 10 March 2003  is available... almost, on VIA's web site. Both http and FTP links have shown to be dead or alive this morning, not to mention slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.  I have no idea what is included in the update, as that link was DOA all morning.

VIA Hyperion drivers are suitable for any VIA chipset. If you are looking for VIA 4in1 drivers, these are the drivers you are looking for. The "Hyperion" name was added to the 4in1 driver set name in December 2002. This is the second release with the Hyperion name.
VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 driver includes four system drivers to improve the performance and
maintain the stability of systems using VIA chipsets. These four drivers are:
VIA Registry (INF) Driver, VIA AGP VxD driver, VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver
and VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver. For Windows NT users, VIA IDE Bus Mastering
driver is the only driver to be installed to your system
VIA Registry (INF) Driver is to be installed under Windows. The driver will
    enable VIA Power Management Controller.
VIA AGP VxD Driver is to be installed if you are using an AGP VGA card.
VIAGART.VXD will provide service routines to your VGA driver and interface
directly to hardware, providing fast graphical access.
VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver enhances compatibility with IDE devices.
VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver installs under Windows 98 only. It will
improve the PCI IRQ routing sequence.
The driver package will automatically detect your operating system and provide the
necessary options by default. If you choose Normal install, the installation program
will display those options and you may untick any options to either not install them
or uninstall them. If you choose Quick install the driver options will not be
displayed they will just be installed. Therefore if you are running the program to
uninstall any drivers, just must chose the Normal install option.
    Change Log:
Update VIA AGP driver to v4.41a
    Fixed overwrite issue
Fixed the K8 CPU cache Flush syntax error in Viagart.sys (miniport driver).
Note: Please uninstall AGP V4.40 first if you want to install previous AGP version

  • Problem accessing BBC News via iPad 2, iPhone or web

Anybody else have these problems - and solutions?
I have continuous, but erratic problems accessing BBC News either through MacBook Pro, iPhone 3G or iPad 2 (64G Wi-Fi & 3G).  Until a few months ago, I never had problems accessing BBC News via my computer.  Now I often cannot access the site at all, and problems occur whether I use Google Chrome (11.0.696.57)or Safari (5.0.5).  Erratically and less frequently, however, the pages load OK.  I have no problem loading other news websites, e.g. CNN or Al Jazeera.  I live in Spain.  My internet provider is Movistar. I have an ADSL connection of 10Mb (maximum available here) and a wireless router. My MacBook Pro runs OS X 10.6.7.
When trying to access BBC through Google Chrome, I get the following message:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.bbc.co.uk
    Try reloading: www.bbc.co.uk/news/
    Additional suggestions:
Access a cached copy of www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Trying to access BBC on Safari, I get this message:
    Safari can’t find the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world/” because Safari can’t find the server “www.bbc.co.uk”.
Using the BBC app on my iPad 2 and iPhone 3G, sometimes the BBC News loads OK, but more often, again, I  get this message:
    No network connection.
Sorry, you are currently offline and will not be able to view any updated content.
N.B.  I am clearly NOT "offline" at this time, since I can open any other web page.

I'm trying to access BBC news on iPad 2 through the app.  Have the same problems.
I wrote to BBC tech support complaining about my access problem through computer, iPhone and iPad.  On May 2, I received the following reply:
    Thank you for your email.
We are aware that some people in Spain are having problems accessing the
BBC News site.  We have identified the problem to the Telefonica ISP.
We have contacted Telefonica and they have advised anyone with problems
    to contact them directly
    Kind regards,
    BBC News website
Hence, I contacted Movistar (new name of Telefonica) tech support.  I was told they knew nothing about the problem and tried to blame my computer for it.  And then they hang up!!!  Not impressed!!
I wrote to BBC again on May 19 asking WHO I should contact in Telefonica/Movistar, since their tech support staff claim not to know about the problem  As of today, no reply from BBC, so still very frustrated!

I downloaded the zip file version of the driver then followed the manual installation instruction in the readme file to get it installed.I had a problem using the EXE version because I am always prompted with this message:
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."
whenever I launch the EXE installer.
Graphics operation feels snappier but I had a problem with color profiles being unstable in Optimus mode. The screen randomly turns bluish or redish despite being calibrated by the color sensor. The WEI graphics score in Intel-only mode is 6.4 as shown in this picture

  • Building VIA's Prosavage drivers on Arch Linux

The source code for VIA's prosavage drivers for Linux is available here:
    http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pa … bCatID=112
What I'd like to know is, how do I compile it for Arch Linux instead of Redhat? I know it sounds stupid, but if the readme.txt is correct, Redhat has the placement of XFree86 arse backwards, with the executables, libraries, etc. in /root/xc (!), and the stuff within that directory also vastly changed from the normal layout. Unless I am reading the instructions totally wrong, installing VIA's drivers is going to be a big fat pain in the ass... Does anyone have advice as to how to go about this?
(Please read the readme.txt included with the source package at the link I gave. I know this may be inconvenient, but I'm pretty sure that I can't post the readme here, as it is copyrighted material.)

D'oh... I was reading it wrong. I have to recompile XOrg to install this driver... Shouldn't be too tough.
My question now is: is it worth it? How do VIA's drivers compare to the DRI/Mesa ones - is OpenGL support any better?

  • System just reboots over and over after VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers installed

After installing the (2005-1-14) VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers on my K7T Turbo Ver 3 system (Windows/2000 SP4, Award BIOS 3.6) I got the following blue screen:
    *** STOP:  0x0000007B (0xF681F84C,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000) INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
If this is the first time you've seen this  Stop error screen, restart your computer.  If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer.  Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers.  Check you hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.  Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Refer to your Getting Started manual for more information on troubleshooting Stop errors.
    1.  I logged into Windows/2000 via "Safe Mode", got the same error above.
    2.  I then rebooted with the Windows/2000 cd, selected Repair.  Went through the Repair process, had the emergency disk.  Still got the above blue screen after rebooting.
    3.  I then rebooted again in "Safe Mode", got the blue screen error.
    4.  I then rebooted again in "Safe Mode with Networking". got the blue screen error.
    5.  I then rebooted with the Windows/2000 cd, selected Repair.  Went through the Repair process and DID NOT use the emergency disk.  This time the system got to the Windows logo screen (before log in prompt) and then reboots over and over.  No blue screen.
    6.  On next reboot, I hit F8 for "Safe Mode".  "Starting Windows ..."  appears on screen, then system reboots over and over.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jim

To get the pc to stop rebooting over and over, I ran chkdsk /R.
Next, I booted with the Windows/2000 CD and selected to Repair.
I tried just doing the Repair, but that did not work.
I tried to log in after doing the chkdsk /R and that did not work.
I then get the blue screen when trying to login to W2K, but was able to login "Safe Mode".
I removed the VIA drivers using Device Manager:
    VIA Bus Master IDE Controller,
    VIA CPU to AGP Controller,
VIA Tech PCI to ISA bridge,
    VIA Tech Power Manager controller.
I then clicked on the "Scan for hardware changes" icon.  This added back drivers.  Rebooted.  Got the blue screen with errors in my first posting.
This is a little progress since the machine is not stuck in a "reboot loop" like above and I can log in to "Safe Mode".
Does anyone think that upgrading from Windows/2000 to WindowsXP will fix this? (Does WindowsXP have these drivers in pnp?)
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • New VIA Drivers and Live-Update

I noticed the latest VIA drivers are not yet available for download using MSI's Live Update prgram. Is it ok to download them seperately from the official VIA site? Or should I just wait for the Live Updater to get them?
    Just Wondering...

     :D
I only used Live Update for a limited time ... mostly because there was too much time between launching an new driver and the driver becoming available through Live Update. The VIA drivers are available for more than a week, I think.

  • Via Hyperion chipset drivers for K&t266 Pro2 MS 6380

    hi all
Having recently re installed XP to new hard drive thought I should update the VIA chipset drivers so have installed 4in1 Hyperion 451v.
Am having some lock up problems transfering files from 1 hard drive to another on the same IDE channel.
Power supply problem identified and new Antec on the way.
Looking for some opions guidance around standard XP drivers vs Via and as this is quite old board should I be using retro Via drivers for stability.
    Views, thoughts experience appreciated.

Some kt266 chipsets requires the VIA latency patch.
Fixes file transfer issues, corruption and stability issues.
Improves PCI bus transfer rates and crackling sound issues.

  • New nVidia 6.70 drivers

Recently i got nVidia nForce 6.53 drivers on my computer installed, they are working well. I would like to install the latest nForce 6.70 from nVidia  and i am not sure how to do it. Do i have to uninstall the old ones first ?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Yul is not using RAID;
    2. Of course Windows will not see the RAID arrays after uninstalling the drivers ... installing the new drivers will make the array come back again, though - so I do not think that you actually killed your system (the arrays were just temporarily out-of-sight ). I have done this numerous times before I switched to a Promise card;
    3. If the OS is on the array, then of course the situation is a bit more complex, but even then you will not kill your system right away;
    4. it is good advice and generally accepted to remove remainders of old (Nvidia-) drivers, before installing new ones

If you have restored the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media, that probably means you restored to a drive with the new advanced-format technology.
