New VIA 5.07 Drivers - Anyone Installed them yet?

Has anyone bravely installed these yet? There seems to have been an update to the AGP driver and I'm wondering if it may solve the ATI 9800 Pro at 8X problems.

Well took the plunge. The driver installed without issue but the update to AGP didn't fix the 9800 Pro running at 8X AGP. Don't Think I'll be buying another VIA chipset anytime soon.

NEW VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers for KT4AV BAD

Ok heres the problem. I have a KT4AV-L motherboard and I wanted to update the VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers. While I was installing it and when it reached 100%, the screen went black and wouldn't boot back up. I had to hit the restart button to reboot Windows again. Doesn't anyone also have this problem with the new VIA Chipset 4in1 Drivers V4.51 on the KT4AV motherboard?

I haven't heard of this, but I know if not installing under Safe Mode the driver install often hang at the last percent.

LPX only supports 64bit Audio Unit plugins. You probably need to get the latest updates for all of your plugs.

New SSD and need drivers to install , but...

So I am trying to restore a portege R705-p42.... Its hard drive broke and I have no recovery disk. I replaced the hdd with a SSD , and loaded up windows 7 iso from a usb , the installation went well . its needs at least , network and other driversI downloaded them to usb and install them on the toshiba , but they dont appear to work i did manage to get intel LAN driver to work , but somehow it still wont fully connnect (connected but no access) ... other drivers go through the install but dont appear to work ... Is there something i can do to get these drivers to install properly ? thanks for any help

You need to install essentially all of the drivers and utilities at the site above for the laptop to work as designed. And the order matters. I don't have the time or patience and prefer to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly preinstalled. Windows is preactivated.
If you failed to create recovery media, you can obtain it from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here.
For instructions, see the section Restoring from recovery DVDs/media, which begins on p. 72 of the User's Guide.

New VIA 4in 1 drivers

I used auto update to download and install the new 4.51 VIA 4in1 drivers and had nothing but issues running them. The system would do a reboot every 30 minutes or so ....I went back to the 4.49 and it all works fine...anyone else have any issues????

I have been running the 4in1 version 4.51 Pro "BETA" package with no issues.
The alternate site that VIA has listed to get this PRO version is:

Remember that this version is not MS HQL Certified but others that have installed it that have the same VIA chipsets that we do ...are reporting that it improved game playing frame rates and was a stable build for them.....

New demos for Forms9i, how to install them ?

How do i have to install the demos which comes with demos9_0_0_0_8.zip file ?

Hans - I have added the README file to the Forms demo page - this should be "live" within the next 24 hours.
Incase you need them now:
1) Download Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 from OTN of you don't have it installed
2) Unzip the file into a suitable temporary folder e.g. c:\temp\9idemos
3) Start OC4J befor installing
4) Start the Universal installer from the Oracle Installation Products start
menu option
5) Point the installer at the (c:\temp\9idemos\)products.jar file and select
your iDS Oracle Home as the home to install into
6) Follow the installer instructions
7) Read the readme file launched by the install
8) Click on the Desktop icon or Start menu option to launch the demos.
Restrictions
This set of demos is only intended for installation into an Oracle9iDS
Oracle Home on Windows NT or 2000

ProSpeed eSATA Mac OS X Drivers, anyone have them?

I lost my installer disk for the card and they aren't available for download on the manufacturer's site and emailing them did nothing, didn't even get a response.
Anyhow, if anyone has the original disk, I would be eternally grateful if you could make a disk image and pop it on an iDisk or some file sharing site.

Based on the look of this low cost 2-port eSATA card my guess is that it uses the SiI-3132 chip. You can use a magnifying glass to read the Silicon Image chip on the card for verification.
I would try the "SiI 3132 32-bit universal Mac OS X 10.4.9, 10.4.10, & 10.5.1 BASE Driver" found here:

GTK+, MetaCity themes, anyone using them yet?

I was just wondering if anyone is using the GTK+ Look and feel, and the MetaCity theme feature? I played around with them on my Windows 2000 machine, and was having redrawing problems when resizing, some tearing, etc... Also it would crash occasionally, and it seemed to slow everything down pretty bad..
I understand that GTK+ and Metacity are targeted to the Linux environment, but I'm looking for an easy way to change themes, without having to write a new LookAndFeel. I've used SkinLF and it seems to work much better than the java GTK+/Metacity combo. Also, if anyone has found good documentation on using GTK+/Metacity on a windows machine please post the link. thanks

I tried for a little while when I first installed 1.4.2, and quickly gave up. The GTK+ L&F definitely has the feel of something that was rushed out the door before it was ready. It's full of rendering errors and odd things.
I've noticed that if you switch to GTK+ and and then switch back to another L&F, various stuff fails to get updated -- I think there's probably some parts of the containment tree for the Synth UI classes that SwingUtils.updateComponentTreeUI() can't traverse, because after switching back from GTK+, there are "remnants" left over here & there.
Hopefully the full blown Synth L&F for JDK 1.5 will be much more robust. Even better would be if it shipped with several professional-looking skins.
Myself, I've gone to using JGoodies PlasticXP L&F wherever I possibly can.

You won't find them until you are in Windows.
Helps to read even print the guide.
If you have auto run enabled, which is a security risk, the Apple setup.exe will run.
Otherwise, just run that.
Either use your OS X DVD, or use the drivers downloaded by Boot Camp Assistant.
Two different ways to get them.

Got a new IPAD and was charged 200.00 for all apps previsouly purchased!. Has anyone else had this issue? I went thru the appstore and clicked on already purcahed apps and "installed" them on my new IPAD and got about 50 charges all at once from ITUNEs

After setting up my new IPAD2 I went into the APPStore and noticed there was an already purchased section, which showed all my previous purchases I had made and installed on my IPAD I. IT gave me the option to "install" them onto my IPAD2 and there was not visual "COST" associated with it and it never prompted me for a charge althought I had to enter my account password each time. Additionally I didn't get any emails like you usually do when buying an app. A few days later, BAM! 50 charges or so totalling upwards to 200 bucks with no description other than ITUNES on my bank account so I can't even tell which apps they were for. Is part of the public BETA cloud testing?! I hope to god not, it caused my bank account to go negative and now I have many NSF charges. I can NOT affort this. I know apple has a disclaimer "No refunds" under any circumstance. But as far as I"m concerned. THIS IS THEFT!
Please note the IPAD os version is 4.3.3 (8J2) which isn't a drop down option for my OS below... Figures.

More update on y situation. Now on both the IPAD and IPAD2 I can not got to view my purchase History, it says it can not connect to the ITUNES store, but yet I can still d/l apps and can view my account etc etc etc.

I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.

Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.

P6-2016 New MoBo but I need to install AHCI drivers for it to work

Hey I just got a new motherboard for a haswell processor and some new ram. The thing that I'm having trouble with is if I try to boot with the new Motherboard CPU and Ram I will get a 0x7 boot error which means that the boot drive isn't being detcted, after hours and hours of forum searching and my own troubleshooting it seems I need to install the AHCI drivers onto the HDD because HP doesn't install them when they ship the systems because thats not what mode Your computers boot in (so I've seen), but that just so happens to be the mode that my new board boots with, and well without those drivers, I'm sure you can figure it out. So here's what I did next I went onto the intel website and got their AHCI drivers but if I try to install them then it will say that my system does not meet the mnimum requirements to install the software. And well without those drivers.... I've just got $400 of new PC parts just laying on my desk.
P.S. I heard you guys will offer a free win 7 copy if I give you a product key or something like that but a clean install is the LAST THING I WANT TO DO!
