New video rent/buy feature in iTunes Spain: no original audio version??

Hi there,
I live in Spain, although I'm not Spanish and I watch movies with original audio, as opposite to average Spaniards that watch movies with Spanish dialogues over the original ones.
Recently Apple opened the iTunes movie store here in Spain (although not yet officially) and you have a very decent and broad selection of movies you can rent or buy. However I was shocked to notice that the movies are with Spanish dialogues over the original ones and there is no offer to rent or buy an original version! This is shocking...
Moreover, with present Apple's policies for Europe, I cannot go to other European store and buy there unless I have an local address and credit card.
Does anyone here from Spain knows how I can use the new movies feature in iTunes and watch movies in original version?

Even if I agree with you in the principle that Apple can only sell what distributors provide, I think Apple and iTunes are a pretty good marketplace for upgraded products where customers are willing to pay more for a markup product: in this case, movies with dual audio and optional subtitles are a must.
The information that you probably don't have (because you're not in Spain) is that we have digital TV everywhere (not cable TV, free public TV) and the majority of open channels provide foreign content (i.e. movies and TV series) with both original and Spanish audio and optional subtitles for free. Also, all the DVDs in Spain are sold with original audio and a couple of other dubbed languages (Spanish and others). This is what makes the decision from Apple not to push distributors to sell or rent movies with dual audio and subtitles completely absurd. Only an average educated and middle income (i.e. price sensitive) customer will be willing to download movies from iTunes Spain, as all the others potential clients (e.g. highly educated, richer and strong iTunes users) already have a better product elsewhere...
But the most frustrating is that I am still trying to contact Apple with this question: Is it or will it be possible to rent or buy movies with original audio in the Spanish iTunes Store?; and I still wasn't able to reach anyone here in Spain (only a support agent in Austin Texas who had no clue of what I was talking about). But I'll keep trying...

Unable to rent/buy films on iTunes

I have a Macbook Pro, have the lastest iTunes, and cannot rent or buy movies. I have checked parental controls, searched the forums, and still nothing. When I go to the iTunes store, I can click the 'rent' or 'buy' button and it animates by changing colour, but that is it! I get no promt to enter my user name and password to be able to download the movie/film. Can anyone help please?

The latest version of iTunes is 11.01... your version of OS X may be too old to support it? I'm not sure - you may want to try downloading and installing it. http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Artwork is not shown in my new video ipod but appear in itunes

Recently I bought a 30G ipod and when I first sync with itunes I could see some artworks in song. Now I add artwork in almost all my songs but I cant see it in my ipod. I delete the song, added again, delete art and added again but it doesnt solve the problem. Please let me know how to fix it.

I just find my problem. When I installed the itunes version from the CD it was not the latest version. I installed the new version and that version has a check option to display the artwork in the ipod.

I've recently changed my network provider. iTunes recognized the new number and amended it in iTunes. My original number is now available but iTunes won't accept it or allow me to change the number on the device. How can I resolve this?

I have just changed my telophone provider in the UK from )2. To transfer the number, which I wanted to retain, took 24 hours and I was given a new number by the new provider Virgin Mobile. To unblock my iPhone I had to connect it to iTunes, which recognised my device and changed the telephone number. 24 hours later, my old number returned but iTunes won't recognise the device or allow me to change the number back to the original. How do I reslove this?

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name. (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.) After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library. If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account. To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

Living in Germany but want to rent kids films from iTunes in the original version (English) and am finding that everything is in German!!

Can I change the language back to the original version if I download a film in Germany (e.g. Batman) - on the info page it says the only language provided is German, whereas for adults the films seem to be provided in both the original version, and the horrid dubbed version.

I am afraid that this is a local policy of Germany as a state, and adopted by companies, which activate there. This method has been used in many European countries, but not in all countries. I am still happy that almost all the films are subtitled in Romania as this allows to hear the original language, the original voice and is very useful for learning foreign languages. Dubbing films is, in my mind, against the European spirit of mutlicultural continent, and states which still support this should abandon this method. I think this is an issue of a cultural phenomenon, not an Apple forum issue.

IPod video not displaying new videos

For some reason now when put new videos (mostly downloaded podcasts through itunes) they dont show up in the Podcasts folder where they used to. Its only just started doing this. The only place I can view them is in the "Recently Added" folder. Also TV shows dont come up in my menu. Ive tried restoring it etc and nothing is working. can anyone help??

yeah mine seems to be more restrictive too. more so though of videos i had converted. i had a bunch of tv shows i ripped that played fine then after i updated the ipod to the newest software it said they weren't compatible....wierd...
In response to your syncing problem, mine does the sync and it says it updated ok, but wen i go into the podcast menu they arent showing up. If i plug it into my windows machine and go into the directory of where its stored the file is there and works, the ipod just doesn't see it or file it in the podcasts. The only way to play it is go into the recently added folder. I then have to make a separate playlist for those podcasts so when i add new stuff it doesn't get pushed out of the list and is unplayable. videos classed as "TV Shows" arent even viewable on it at all... Its stupid things like this that push me closer and closer to buying a Zune....

Video is jerky from my itunes download

I just downloaded the daily show and played it thru quicktime 7. The video is frozen and jerky. It's cos my system is pretty marginal I know. But vodcasts and other mp4 video plays fine. It's just that the daily show has an fps of 30 and stereo sound, my system can't handle it. Is there any way of reducing the quality or otherwise working around this? The lower fps stuff looks good enough and plays well.

Well that's the point I don't want to buy a new computer when this one plays most video I want. Here's a good comparison:
Video: Bill Gates runs like a girl (podcast). AAC stereo (L R), 44.100 KHz, MPEG-4 Video, 320 x 240, 29.97 fps, 786.45 kbits/sec. PLAYS FINE
Video: Daily show (bought from itunes). MPEG-4 audio (protected),stereo, 44.100 KHz, VRML media, 320 x 216, 29.97 fps, 654.94 kbits/sec. PLAYS VERY BADLY.
Can someone explain why the first video plays much better than the second, when it has a higher resolution and bit-rate? Also what is VRML media, is it a video codec?

Why can't I rent/buy movies with MA or R rating?

It appears that whenever I try to rent/buy movies from iTunes Store via Apple TV or iTunes with a rating of PG, M, they work fine, but if the movie is rated MA I get error message - Can't connect to Store. Try again later. For a 35 year old man I find this censorship frustrating. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Maybe there is a parental control setting I need to change?

This is happening to me too.
It seems pretty random, I've found a few movies I can rent, but most come up with the same error message you've seen. The movie rating doesn't seem to be a factor for me.
I've checked parental controls as suggested, rebooted, made sure software is up to date etc. I even waved a dead chicken. Just kidding. Something is broken with the iTunes store methinks.

A new feature in iTunes 7 allows you to set the Kind for your video??

I'm new to Apple TV and I use Windows for the itune. My question is my music video.
I have a lot of video music that imported to Itunes to play on my Apple Tv
the problem is, when I Imported them it automatically put the kind of video
to "movie". I know you can change this individually to music video.
Is there a way to do it all at once instead of one at the time?

There's a Doug's AppleScript called Set Video Kind of Selected that does batch processing of the video tags.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Hi mterry1723, one solution that might be worth trying is this:
- Close iTunes, if it's open
- Open Safari and got to 'Preferences'
- Select 'Security' on the top
- Untick all the security options in the menu
- Click the 'Show Cookies' button and look for all the 'apple' entries in the left-hand column.
- Highlight them (select them collectively) and press 'Remove'
- Now open iTunes and buy the song as usual.
- You may be asked to do the same security process as before, so do as asked.
- Hopefully, the security check will now have accepted your answers and start downloading the song as normal.
Remember to re-tick all the required security options you had just un-ticked in Safari preferences. You don't need to bother about opening the cookies again.
I hope this has worked for you and my profoundest apologies if it has not. Worth a go, though!

IPod touch 3G won't synch new videos (SD) from iTunes

My iPod touch 3G won't synch any new videos (SD) I buy through iTunes. Tried restoring it twice, software is updated, de-authorized and re-authorized my Mac I'm synching to, manually managing videos (also tried the automatic synch with 3 and 5 most recent movies), creating iPod version (option grayed out), checked to see if some audio options (like surround sound) were selected on the videos and see if they were interfering (they weren't)...still no luck. I'm pulling my hair out. Just bought the videos solely to be able to watch on the touch. The new videos (6 of them...all bought directly from iTunes over a couple of weeks time) don't even register on the multicolor capacity bar when I select them while manually managing videos. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No luck, but thx for trying. That was one of the spots I had been to before. I searched around the forums and tried everything I could find listed with no joy. I don't get any warning that the videos won't sync. All my previous videos bought on iTunes the exact same way work just fine. The only difference with these ones are that they are new (both newer content to iTunes and downloaded more recently). They will play from iTunes on my iMac perfectly, when I select them for sync onto my Touch 3G there's no indication that they even register (the capacity bar does not expand...but as if I select an older movie the bar increases to show the spce that movie will take up). If I manually select the (new) video it shows the movie as selected (minus the capacity bar increasing the requisite amount), the iPod syncs (no warnings or complaints from iTunes about the video format...and there shouldn't be, I got the video from iTunes), but the video is not on there on my iPod when all is said and done. Very frustrating . Thanks again for trying.

I don't want to "erase" or lose any information when I sync with a new itunes that is "empty"
What are the steps? After I download Itunes and set the folder location to my external harddrive what is next? Will Itunes recognize my IPOD? Will it load the music/list from my ipd or external into itunes?
