New view of rotated page not saving in Acrobat X...

When I open a PDF file in Acrobat X often the page(s) need to be rotated. This is easy enough to do and easy enough to save the document. The bug is that the saved document doesn't remember the rotated view. This worked in previous versions of Acrobat why is it not working in version 10??

I discovered that there is a difference between page view rotation and page rotation. If I actually rotate the page then this problem goes away and I can save the file with it's new orientation in tact.

  • Rotating pages - not allowed in an unsecured document

I'm running Adobe Acrobat 9.1.3.  I would like to rotate the even pages of the document 180 degrees.
When I select the pages in the page view, or use the document menu, the "Rotate Pages" option is not available to me. (it's listed, but greyed out in the document menu).
When I look at the security options of the document, it is set to "no security" and everything listed is "allowed."  I have no options available to change anything on this page.
The document was originally submitted as a PDF/A version - I removed this information from the file using the preflight tool.  It still doesn't work.
    Any ideas?

In the preferences set the entry 'View documents un PDF/A mode' to 'Never'.

  • Rotated Pages not Printing Properly

    Greetings All,
I'm not sure whether this is more an Acrobat issues or Word. I'm sure each would say the other.
Working in Word 2010 with files that have some hi res images in them. We're using the Acrobat X PDF Maker Office COM Addin as it was the only way I found to get the full resolution of the images. The books also have pages that are rotated in Word to landscape. Once PDF'd those pages are then rotated in Acrobat to be right-reading. Which all seems fine on the screen.
When printed to a laser printer, however, the pages that were landscape in Word and rotated in Acrobat sit lower on the printed sheet than the "regular" pages which are portrait in Word and therefore NOT rotated in Acrobat, ONLY when this button at the bottom left of the Acrobat print dialog is turned ON:
If the "Auto..." button is on it prints correctly. It's almost as if the rotation in formation within the Acrobat file is incorrect.
This happens when printed form Acrobat versions 9, 10 and 11.
Has any one seen this and is it something the printer may have trouble with?
    Thanks for reading,
    Ken

I've printed the PDF on 3 different printers, all get the same result.
An interesting note (and maybe a clue?) that I hadn't bothered mentioning is that for the previous book in this series, using the same Word 2010 template, we used Word's Save As PDF to create the PDF. It wasn't until we were making the final PDF for the printer that we realized Word wasn't exporting the art at full resolution.
WHICH MAKES NO BLOODY SENSE AT ALL!!! (sorry for the rant - we ended up editing the PDF going to the printer and replacing the low res art Word put in with high res versions)
THAT PDF does not have this problem. Whether it's from having been created with the SaveAs or whether it was the extensive editing in Acrobat I can't possibly say. I DID try saving the PDF from Acrobat but it didn't fix the rotated pages problem.
    Thanks for chiming in!

  • Safari always opens with "Welcome to Safari" screen. Home page not saved.

After a clean reinstall of Yosemite on our mid-2010 iMac and an upgrade to Safari 8.0.2, my partner is greeted with the "Welcome To Safari" screen each time he launches Safari.
In addition, his home page is not saved and the Favorites bar, which is set to be displayed by default, does not show.
My own Safari experience is unaffected.
Has anybody else experienced this and any suggestions on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Page not saved

This page is not saved as html file: http://www.zerozero.pt/equipa.php?id=19
After selecting SAVE in the menu, only the folder with the images is saved, the main html file is NOT saved.
Other files in this site save without problems.

That web page has an impressive long page name.
Firefox usually tries to use the page name by default to save the page and in this case this might not work if you accept the name that is offered.
I've shortened it to zerozero<i></i>.pt<i></i>.html and that did work for me.

  • The view won't rotate unless I put it to sleep and then wake it up in the new orientation.  rotation is not locked.

The view on my I-pad won't rotate.  I know its not locked.  started yesterday.  I-Pad is only 2 weeks old.  what coul it be?

You are absolutely sure the screen is not locked? You do not see the lock icon in the upper right part of the screen next to the battery percentage indicator? If the lock icon is there - the screen is locked.
Restart your iPad. Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. Then hold the sleep button until then Apple logo appears and let go of the button to restart. See if the screen will rotate now.
If that doesn't do it try a reset - hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.

  • New view object row does not get committed to DB

    Hi guys,
on a taskflow with a new transaction I have a form to enter a new record on an entity-based view object.
Before the page is called I call the CreateInsert Operation to create the new record on that view object.
There are quite a few attributes that have default values which I determine in the ViewRowImpl's create method (using populateAttributeAsChanged to set the values).
Now if none of the inputValues in the form is filled manually and I want to save the data (default values are sufficient to save the record) the taskflow return action commit does not commit the data to the db. As soon as I manually enter one value into any field the same return action commits the record correctly to the db. There is no error message and the new record is visible in the application because it is inserted into the view's iterator...
Is there any way to mark the new row as changed/insert if only the default values are filled? Or am I doing something wrong?
    Using JDev 11.1.1.5
    Achim

Add the following method in your RowImpl class:
    public void setNewRowState(byte b) {
         if (b != Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED ||
             getNewRowState() != Row.STATUS_NEW) {
             super.setNewRowState(b);

  • Web Part - Report Viewer - Override Parameters are not saving

When I select the override option and check the one parameter out of the list and click apply, or OK, the Web Part refreshes and resets the parameter list with all the items checked again.

    Hi Developer_46038,
i tried this steps in sharepoint 2013 SP1,
    ·         A report
viewer web part is added to a standard page
    ·         The parameters are loaded in the web part settings, and the option to
override the default parameter is selected and overridden with the desired value.
    ·         After pressing OK, the
    report loads as expected.
    ·         After pressing "Stop Editing" on the page, the
    report still appears as expected.
    ·         If the page is reloaded, the
    parameters have been removed.
seems the issue reproducible there, i already submit a request for checking, but i cannot make any guarantee regarding the time process.

  • Pages not saving documents to iCloud drive

After the latest OS X update I was no longer able to save Pages documents to the iCloud Drive, which meant I could not access those documents on other Apple devices (iPad, iPhone), nor could I save documents created on an IOS device to the iCloud Drive.  Contacted Apple tech support and the problem has been elevated to the iCloud engineers.  Hope to have asolution in a few days (or sooner).

VikingOSX, many thanks. What you have outlined is good to know. Easier and faster than converting and saving an original.
Now, something further. If I transfer a .doc document this way to iCloud, does the .doc document get converted, automatically, to a .pages document? I ask, because my reading here and there suggests that .doc documents get converted to .pages when they are put on iCloud, although it may be possible to retrieve a document put on iCloud in its original Word format. The somewhat older .doc documents that I have kept, and put on this Mac, have tables and formatting that may be slightly disturbed if converted to .pages documents - which is why I've left them alone so far, and not put them on iCloud. And I can send them out as .doc originals.
But iCloud is a great system/concept, and I'd like to use it for these older items as well. Of course, these .doc documents can remain on my Air as such, and I do do regular backups.
In any event, many thanks for your help.

  • Pages not saving document causes crash

Yesterday I made changes to a document using Pages.  Today, the document with changes is shown in the thumbnail, when I try to open it Pages shuts down and brings me to the home screen.  I was able to email a copy of the document to myself and it does not include the changes I made yesterday, even though I can see the changes on the thumbnail view.  Also, the document shows it was last updated at 5;57 last night, which is when I stopped working.  To further complicate things, if I search for the name of the document, there is no record.  Any ideas what happened and how/if I can access the updated document.  Yes, I have restarted the ipad and am running the most current of everything.

    Hi Terri020,
I've the same problem after 2 hours of editing ...
Apple Inc., do you have a solution or an update for this error ?
Hope to have a update/answer soon,
    Thanks,

  • ITunes view columns - changes are not saved

    Hello there,
When I make changes to the column size in the iTunes list view; like title, artist, album title ... it does not seem to save, regardless if I am on the iPhone list view, shared library list view, local music view, etc. When I close iTunes and open it again, it is often reset to the default settings. Where are these defaults settings defined? The default settings that it resets to, are those that came the way iTunes was first install, but how can I save these column size changes?
Thanks for all and any replies.
    - Applies to my Windows iTunes and Mac iTunes.

    KHCrowley,
    Welcome to Apple's discussions.
Try clearing your browser cache, and then take another look. The changes are most likely there.

  • Fields on the master page - NOT saving in Reader!

I have forms that I've setup through Designer 7.1 and enabled through Acrobat 8. I'm currently using Reader 8 to open and fill in the forms. The fields that are on the master page (i.e., "Page ___ of ___" footer) DO NOT save, either in Reader 7 or 8. I can type in my info and it shows up just fine in the PDF preview pane (nothing seems to be blocking it and it is appropriately setup within a subform). I'm hoping this doesn't mean I have to go through all 800+ of my forms and redo what I've already created....

Check the binding tab for the fields. They may not be bound. By default, when you add a field to a master page, it is not bound (i.e. default binding is "none").

  • ECL Viewer 7 background color not saving - proper registry entry?

    Hi,
This is with regards to ECL viewer 7 in SAP GUI 7.20. I want to be able to save the personal settings for background color to white since it does not save for some reason.
I have found threads such as this: Personal Settings (Options) for ECL Viewer
which tell me to add a registry key "Background" to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SAP/VCT_Retained/6.1/Common/de/ImageViewUtils to store the settings. However the version in the thread mentioned is for ECL viewer 5 and 6.
We tried to change the "6.1" to "7.0" and "7.1" (since it was patched with patch 1) and "de" to "en" and putting the key there with no luck. I have tried searching SAP notes but have found none relevant to ECL 7.0. Does anybody have information on how we can save background color for ECL 7.x?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nico

    Hi Nico,
we solved it with this key:
    HKCU\Software\Siemens\PLMVis_Retained\8.2\Common\de\ImageViewUtils
    Background DWORD 00FFFFFF

  • HT2476 Pages not saving since Mountain Lion installation.

**SORRY** I just realized that I posted this in Lion and not Mountain Lion and I don't see a way to delete the post.  I reposted in Mountain Lion**
I just opened a document I created in 2010, and got an error message when trying to save changes: "Can't save, print, or export documents until the iWork 30-day trial has been activated."  I have been using iWork 09 for quite a long time (I have version 4.2)...I installed Mountain Lion about 4 days ago and this is the first day I've been in Pages since.  I don't know why I'm getting this error when '09 is installed on my computer and I've been using a paid version of iWork since for years.  I have not discovred instances where other people have had this issue after installing Mountain Lion, but wanted to ask here.  Thank you.

    gcr,
Go to Calendar>Preferences...>Accounts>Account Information, and delete/re-add your iCloud account information.

  • Latest Pages not saving to PDF properly

Anyone else found a fix for when Pages won't export all of a document to a PDF, please?
The PDF displays all my paragraph headings; but some - not all - of the *text in those paragraphs is missing in the PDF*.
    TIA!

Check whether they are in fact in the same font.
There are lots of fonts with the same name but in different formats.
Any of these Windows ttf fonts?
Also I am guessing that the heading is in bold but the paragraph text is plain, therefore not the same font although they +may be+ from the same family or appear to be from the same family.
How did you upgrade to OSX 10.6.2? If you did not upgrade with the combo upgrader, chances are that you have damaged font caches and possibly damaged fonts as well. This has been discussed at length here.
