New WHQL Vista Dri

Hi!
I'm running the dreaded NForce 4 and Audigy 2 combination of hardware on Windows Vista x64. To my surprise, I discovered a new WHQLed driver waiting for me on the Windows Update page.
Haven't tested it extensi'vely yet, but I've been working 2 hours non-stop on this Vista now without a BSOD. Hey, I'm even daring to type this message without copy-pasting it into notepad and saving it every line
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I really hope I can leave this driver installed and *still* have a stable system.

Can I install Photoshop 7 onto my new Windows Vista?

Hello,
My new Windows Vista is a 64 bit. Can I safely install my old Photoshop 7, which is probably 32 bit, onto my new Windows Vista? What kind of problems could there be?

nope. just has some new features. everything you used to do, you still can.

well i can say it does offer lots of improvements for that. i'm not a pro either and i use it for pretty much what you do, plus making things like invitations and thank you cards and the like. things like smart sharpen and the hilight/shadow adjustment setting and photo filters and the healing tools really make working with your old photos so much easier than with 7! i'd say the upgrade is worth it just for the hilight/shadow stuff. you'd be amazed at how much detail there is in many pictures that look almost totally black to the eye!
and like we said, if you want a feature later, you're going to wind up paying full price again instead of just the upgrade price because when cs3 came out, they instituded a no upgrades prior to 3 versions back. right now that's 7. when cs4 comes out, people with 7 lose their ability to buy at upgrade price.

Itunes 7.6 Crashes on New Windows Vista 32 bit Home Prem (64 bit processor)

I have a weird one... I have a new DELL XPS 420 PC with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium version on a 64 bit Intel Duo Core processor... Itunes 7.6 (Quicktime 7.4.1) crashes regardless of all solutions and suggestions (Quicktime also crashes as stand alone operation)... I have tried all suggested solutions from the discussions I have found about 64 bit Vista even though I don't have 64 bit Vista- I have a 64 bit "processor"... my logical conclusion is the latest, greatest version of Itunes (Quicktime) addresses the problem with 64 bit OS but NOT 64 bit processors... IF ANYONE or ANY EINSTIENS OUT THERE HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS, WOULD YOU PLEASE PLEASE HELP?

You probably need to manually remove your gear drivers.

32 bit live cam video im pro vista dri

I just purchased a li've cam video im pro and downloaded the vista 32 bit driver. I ran the setup and the files appear to be in the correct directory, but the "driver set-up" progress window stalls at 90%. I thought the installation might need the camera, so I plugged it in, but alas, to no avail. I've tried to install the camera 4 different times, but each time it goes all the way through the process and then freezes at 90%. I've doubled checked and I'm running a new install of Vista 32 bit on a ?new gateway computer. Anybody got any ideas?Pete

Moving library to a new PC, Vista, and going mad....

hi everyne.... loosing my head here could do with some help. buy a new pc and i want to transfer my ipod library from the old one.....backed it up in an external hard drive, connected drive to new pc... all working fine. Follow apple hints, create desktop shortcut of itunes on new machine.. plug in ipod and paste over itunes folder via my computer.. open i tunes no music.. look in file / import and they are there and i can import them individually but not all 3000 on mass.. anyone help please..

It depends what you managed to recover.
If it was the mother board that failed, the hard drive should be OK. You can put the drive in a drive enclosure and use it as an external drive on the new PC.
Drive enclosures can be obtained from Amazon or a store that sell computer stuff.
But if you already saved you iTunes folder containing the library files and music files you do not need it.
Assuming you had a default iTunes installation on the old PC with the iTunes Music folder in the iTunes folder...
If you have your iTunes folder, first install iTunes on the new PC. Do not add any music at this stage.
Drag the iTunes folder out of your music folder to your desktop.
Copy the iTunes folder from the old drive or backup into the music folder on the new PC so it replaces the one you dragged out.
Adjust the permissions on the iTunes folder so your account has full control.

Assuming you had a default installation, with any luck you will have your iTunes back.

New MBP: Vista crashes during install w/Boot Camp-any suggestions?

Trying to install vista on new MBP. Using Boot Camp, everything seems to work until the very end, and Then Vista says it couldn't finish due to a problem with a device(I'll have to check the exact error at home tonight....)and that I will need to restart and re-install. Then it gets stuck restarting and going to the same message over and over. so frustrating....
This is with a fresh copy of OSX 10.5.5 on a new MBP 2.4 with 4G of ram, right out of the box. New copy of Vista SP1, and following the bootcamp instructions to the letter. I installed all Apple software updates before launching bootcamp. Other than the Apple updates, am I missing something?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Can't download iTunes onto my new Windows Vista computer

I had iTunes on my old Windows 2000 computer. Just bought a new computer and have mu library saved on hard drive - transferred files to new computer but am unable to download iTunes. I have attempted the download multiple times. I have dial up internet and it takes several hours to download. Then I when I try to run the program I get the following message:
files\content.IE5\TPKB3035\iTunes.setup(1)exe is not a valid win32 application
I have tried to uninstall and start over but iTunes does not show up in my programs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I cannot find the file itunessetup.exe on my computer so I can't remove it. The itunes I am trying to install is the latest version, which is the one that is supposed to work with Windows Vista. However, it won't install for me. I am still getting the error message when I finish downloading.

I really think this sucks pretty much. - This is bad customer service. Of course softwareissues will show up once in a while, this is fragile technology and we have to accept that, but when something like this happens, I expect Nokia to come with some sort of statement Asap.
Are there like half a billion vista users or more i the world? And 1 in 3 cellphones are a nokiaphone. And there are like 2 cellphones per human beeing in this world in average. Hmmm, at some point, if I've done my math correctly, you will come across someone who has a nokia phone and vista on their computer. Hello, did you think we wouldn't notice it?
Yes, my N95 8 gb device "died" while updating the firmware a little while ago, and guess what? - there where no warnings from nokia anywhere even though i red in different forums outside nokia that this issue had been known for a while. And that they had called nokia servicedesk and sent mails...
pfff... this is just great.

New WHQL Nvidia Driver 43.51

This driver solved my crashing issue. It is WHQL certified, 45.51 Nvidia. Very stable with my MSI GeForce4 Ti 4200 128M 8x. It did drop my 3D Mark 2001 from 7570 to 7227, but I can run the complete test multiple times stable, where before I would be lucky to make it through at all. Please let me know how your testing goes with DirectX 9. I don't want to leave 8.1 again until I know how this works there.

New 'puter(Vista/PC) won't recognize old shuffle

Hi -thanks for trying to help. I bought a new Compaq Presario PC w/Vista & downloaded the latest iTunes. My shuffle is plugged into the same USB port that I used prior to changing cpus & has the green light on but doesn't appear in iTunes list. In the left hand column I see (in descending order) Library, Store, & Playlists but not my iPod. I also read other postings & checked under Device Manager but don't see it there, either. I tried the 5Rs.
FYI, under the File tab, there are listings for "Synch Songs Onto (My) iPod" & "Transfer Purchases From (My)iPod, showing that it is somehow acknowledging the existence of my shuffle but not listing it in the left hand column for my to click onto play from my iPod. Strange...

I just reinstalled my PS7 onto a new computer, Vista, and now I keep getting an error message which says "photoshopelementssyncagent.exe-no disk. I turned off Firewall, allowed Firewall to let in program and nothing works. I can't even get into

photoshop at all with this. I am about ready to get rid of this stupid program! Does anyone know how to fix this? Does this not work with Vista?

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I appreciate any help you can give me to get this audition program started

Installing itunes on new dell/ Vista, error that no audio cd can be found

After installing intunes on my new dell laptop, got message that it "was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn cd's, you need to reintall iTunes". I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Same error message. Diagnostics says "no audio CD found". I'm on my 4th out of 5 allotted downloads because of old dell crashing. don't want to uninstall again if I can help it. Please help me.

New Dell in title, old Dell in comment. Have you tried updating the driver for the device from the Dell website? Put the service tag number in and it should show you all available downloads.
And 4th out of 5 allotted downloads? Are you referring to authorizations? De-authorize the machine before you remove the software, if that is what you are actually talking about.

my zen is up-to-date firmware 2.2.02?connect it to windows vista 32 bits and windows says it can not find driver?why does this appens since creative says that zen micro is vista compatible.. thanks

Unfortunately there is little I can advise in that case, you will need to update to that firmware from an XP machine. Could you do this on a friend or relati've's PC? Or a PC in work/college/school?

If you select your product in the list, and choose XP as your Operating System, it'll show you the available files. The latest PlaysForSure / MTP-compatible firmware update for the Zen Micro is filename ZenMicroP4S_PCFW_L6_2_2_02.exe
You can enter that filename on the Downloads page search, and it'll bring you right to it.

Trying to transfer purchases from my 3gs onto a new PC (Vista). Keep getting the message "Waiting for changes to be applied". HELP!

Using the latest version of iTunes and iOS5 on my iPhone. Backup of the iphone seems to work fine. My old PC died and I want to transfer my apps to my new PC. But when I start Transfer purchases from my iPhone, it just keeps giving the message "Waiting for changes to be applied" and doesn't do anything. I'm getting worried as I have an iPhone 4s coming and I want to move my 3gs stuff over to my new phone. Anyone know how to fix this?

Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks back when I switched computers and migrated. Here's what worked on my iMac, so maybe it'll work on your iPad, too. Go to User(your home folder)/Music. Select/highlight your "Music" folder. Then do Command-I ("Get Info" from the File menu), click on the padlock icon in the lower right of the new window. Enter your user password. Click on your username just above the now-open padlock. Select "Read & Write" if it's on "Read Only," "Write Only," or "No Access." Now having your user account with "Read & Write" privileges (it may have been this way already; still do this next step), click on the gear on the bottom-center of that window. Click on "Apply to all enclosed items." When the pop-up says "Are you sure?" (or the equivalent), say "yes." This will grant access privileges to your user account for all the music files inside your music folder--all your iTunes stuff included). Then you should be good to go.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
Please visit the Windows Hotsync board, where you will find many threads about synchronizing older Palm devices like the m130 to a Vista computer, including this one which is stickied near the top of that board.
You'll need to use Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and a free utility from www.pimlicosoftware.com called PalmHotsyncSetup. Note, this will only work for 32-bit Vista. There are no 64-bit USB drivers. If your desktop is Vista 64-bit, you will be limited to IR (infrared beam) sync, which will also require an IR adapter for your computer.
While I'm at it, I will relocate this thread to the Windows Hotsync board.
