New Window of ESS with Exit button

Hi All,
For all applications in ESS, I am facing astrange issue. I will explain it taking one scenario. I go to the page where I can change the personal data under service Personal Information. Here there is an 'Exit' button. If i click on that, a new Overview page ESS window opens up instead of exiting. This happens with all the services, bet it Leave Request or any.
How can this be stopped?

This is to do with workprotect mode settings.

Also note that
this 'exit' button has been determined not to
work if the application is running in pop-up window. 'Close' button of
popped up browser window can be used to close that window.

iTunes will run fine with the media on an external drive.
However, I suggest that a tablet computer with a tiny hard drive is not ideal as the primary computer for managing an iTunes library, even a small one. If you have another machine, perhaps a big, boxy, inexpensive old desktop with a decent amount of storage, that might be a better choice.

Did you set Internet Explorer as the default browser? If not the set it as the default. Check to see if you can do custom install

Won't open homepage on open, won't open web pages from the menu 'open new window', Can't open menu button

Ok, since update to version 31.0, I have been having some problems.
I have tried doing everything stated in the support page about resetting, reinstalling, safe mode, restarting pc etc.
First problem, when I open Firefox no web page loads. It just says New Tab and a blank white page. If I press the home button I am taken to my homepage which is google.
Second problem, when I right click on a link and the menu pops up, if I click open in new window, a new window opens but it just says New Tab with a blank page and no URL information, just blank.
Third problem, the Open Menu button just doesn't work at all. You can click all you like, that thing is not opening.
I am really stuck as to what to do. I have only been using Firefox for about a month and t was good until these problems. If I can't resolve it, I will have to use another browser as it is really annoying.
I am using Windows 8.1 by the way and have scanned my computer thouroughly for both virus's and malware.

I am having a Print Button. On click of this I want to open a new window? how is it possible. Note it should not be a popup or panelwindow.

Open link (PDF) in new window from WebHelp custom skin button

This question relates to my work with FM>RH integration. But the task I'm trying to accomplish is something specifically done in RH with customization of WebHelp skins, so I'm posting in this forum. I'm running RH9 on Windows XP Pro.
We have recently replaced WebWorks with RH and finally have the mapping files set up to generate Help from our FM source files. Celebration was short, because then we realized that our users wanted a PDF option. We haven't done any mapping to create PDFs from RH, and that seems kind of silly anyway, since we have superior PDF generation from the FM files.
So I set about making a custom button in the header of a WebHelp skin that will link to a PDF. I accomplshed that work, but its behavior falls short of the functionality I'd like to see. Currently, you click on the button and it opens the PDF in the browser window of the Help system. I want it to open in a new window, so I can keep the experience clean for the users, separating Help and PDF. I don't know if this is possible.
Here is where I am at. To create button I navigated to:
Project Set-up/Skins/NEW SKIN/WebHelp Skin Editor/ Main/NEW BUTTON
When I choose the edit icon to customize the new button, there is an option to choose Link or JavaScript. I got the PDF to open inside the Help browser by just using the Link option and specifying the PDF. I have tried to use the JavaScript option without success. My JS may be wrong, but when I choose inline JS option and place anything there, it turns all the navigation buttons to gobbledy ****. Specifying an external JS file doesn't work at all.
Any direction or help would be appreciated.

I see one other shortcoming with this solution now that I've implemented it. Our Help follows the applictions through a convoluted path of development servers, amongst other strangeness with the way we deploy Help and PDF documentation. My concern is referencing a single URL/file on a server. Since we're moving things around, that doesn't really work well, we want the PDF to be with the Help system, if possible. Is there a way to reference the PDF as a relative link in the baggage files, so it will pull it from whatever server the Help system resides on without having to make changes?
UPDATE:
It seems if you place the PDF in the WebHelp folder and reference it as the JavaScript, the Help system automatically reats it as root folder and find it there. So, I think this is the solution to my question? However, this is a bit annoying, as it means you have to remember to manually place the file in the compiled Help system. I had earlier experimented with placing the PDF as a baggage file, but those don't seem to carry over when you compile Help. Is there any way to put the PDF in the Baggage Files and designate that it be included in compiled Help?

Open new window on click of a button

Dear All,
We are using VC for development of Dashboards.
I have created the related i views.
First page of dashboard shows all the high level graphs.
I intoduced a button on the chart to go into details (another Iview)
I was able to navigate to the next layer on click of button in tool bar and comeback to the first layer again.
I want to open a new window when I click on the button on the tool bar of chart..
Is it Possible in VC? Please help us in this regard.

I have already posted this issue in the forum VC 7.1. But I couldn't get the answer.

Sorry for getting back late.
Thanks for your inputs. Problem is solved using pushbutton. I gave the URL of the second Iview in the hyperlink of the pushbutton system action.
The problem with the Popup window is that it wont allow you to to go back and choose or analyze other parts of dashboard. so we adopted the pushbutton approach which takes you to another window allowing full access to the main window.

Home Page Framework issues with Exit Button

We are just implementing the ESS package within the new EP7 portal using ECC6.0. We are having a issue when we select a service within the Home Page such as Address, the iview gets displayed which brings up the different addresses which can be edited. On choosing for example the permanent address edit option the new screen appears where you can modify the details if I choose to exit from here, rather than taking me back to the initial page, a new page gets opened with the default to the Personnel Information Page. Could someone please advise what is currently wrong here as I have checked the resource link and service link and all seems to be pointing to the right pages.
For example on choosing the exit the below url gets displayed

If i understood correctly your requirement, check for the WDA service, that the field "Service Type" has the value "WDABAP".
Also, for the corresponding resource, check that the "URL of PCD" property matchs with "PCD Location" property of HCM Process Overview page, but entering by your Role (check note [1234273|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1234273] for more info about this process).

Why is the left hand window and bar with the buttons for TOC/Search/Glossary not displaying in one client location?

Greetings all:
I have more years of experience with RoboHelp than I want to admit, but I have never run into this before. I have a published RoboHelp 9 project for an overseas client that displays exactly as it should when the published version is viewed by myself or another RoboHelp developer (not located where I am). However; the users at 1 of 2 two client sites do not see the left hand TOC window or the bar above the project with the buttons (the other site does see it). The users at both sites are using Internet Explorer 9, and I have been told there is no difference in their security set-up. I suspect that at the site where it is not displaying there is a security setting that is throwing it off, but I am not sure what to have them look for. Anyone have any ideas?

Do they not simply see the bar or is it empty? In the first situation, it seems they are opening the topic directly instead of via the start file.
What is the URL the users are using on both the locations? And do the users have a hyperlink 'Show' at the top of the topics?

In EP7 Ess, how to remove "open new window" for ESS areapage

   In ESS areapage, there is some tabs for click. When I click it, it open a new window. But I want the content display inside the same content page. These are all standard areapage and worksets.
   How can I reset the "open new window" ?
   My EP version is EP 7 sp9

You can set the workprotect mode on a global level so its used for every user.
Systemadministration -> Systemconfiguration -> Service Configuration -> Applications -> com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> Services -> epcfloader. Set the "workprotect.mode.default". After you have saved the entry. ricght click on com.sap.portal.epcf.loader in the tree menu and choose "administrate". Click on "restart".

Hi,
yeah first i used golink only. it is working fine.
But i have other requirement, im using export to excel option, their wt happening is,
ex: abc , xyz... are 2 values.
say "abc" is an hyperlink.
that time "abc" is not placing in excel, only xyz (without hyperlink) going to excel.
Now, i rectifiyed this problem with commandlink, everything is working fine (redirecting and export to excel)
but i want to open this link in NEW WINDOW.

Every time I open a new Window, it opens with a second tab. With "my" top sites. How can I undo this? I made a screenshot, if necessary.

When I open a new window, it opens 2 tabs. First is the requested url. Second is a tab without an adress. The second tab looks like some kind of touchscreen buttons for smartphones? I guess, it's an Firefox feature.
I tried about:config and changed browser.newtab.url, checked starting window, etc. etc. Nothing helped.
How can I keep my Firefox from opening this tab? Please help!

Can't write anything with javascript in a new window create dynamically with "window.open"

I develop a website and an application in html/css/javascript and i have a problem.
I need to open a new window with "window.open", and then change and modify the content dynamically with javascript in it. It works perfectly in Firefox 3.6 and lower but not in Firefox 4.
In Firefox 4, the window is created, but it stay white with "about blank" as name.
Do you have an idea of what I can do? Can I detect if the browser is Firefox 4, and if it is true, instead of "window.open", create a new tab? Can I change the content dynamically in it, and how?

"Open Link in new window" not working with OBIEE 10.1.3.4

Hi All,
Recently we upgraded from Siebel Analytics to OBIEE 10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Go to Settings > Administration > Managae Interactive Dashboard > Select any Dashboard > Right Click on Properties tab > Open Link in New window:
This throws an error saying "javascript:void(null)".
In Siebel Analytisc the above functionality used to work.
Does anyone knows thereason behind this?

Get Firebug and inspect the element. You'll see that it actually is this:
