New window opens under already open window

when i have firefox open with mail or anything else. when i open a link it opens under the previous window. necessary for me to minimize old window to see it ? thanks for the help

A possible cause is a plugin-container process (Flash) that run in the main window.

I am looking for way(s) I can add a new line to an already open PO, (whose funds are exhausted) to accomodate unplanned expenses related to the same project/vendor. Is adding a new line to the original purshase requisition the right way to go?

Hi Fatima,
For unplanned expenses we actually do not need additional line item.
In case the invoice from vendor shows other expenses then in MIRO there is a TAB for Unplanned Expenses and we can put such expenses there. These expenses should be with in the tolerances limits set. Now if the expenses cross the limit, depending on the settings you have made, the invoice is posted but blocked for payment. Then some one in the approval list should approve the same and the payment can be made.
This whole process also gets recorded as PO history and hence is very well documented as well
Normally once a PO is signed it is binding on both parties. So as a Business Process we should not try to add a line item when the PO is exsausted.
In such case i think it would be a good idea to either create a new PO.
Some times companies aslo use OPEN PO if it is a year round activity.

I want to put this link (action?) on all new pages opened enabling the viewer to return to the home page if it is already open in the browser, or open the home page if it has been closed.

How can I get my REPLY or COMPOSE to open in a new tab? (Open messages already open in a new tab.)

I did see that others have this problem and you answered that it's not possible. Can you create an update that will allow this? If not, is there a workaround? When composing or replying to an email, we often need to consult other email or the Thunderbird calendar, and this is annoyingly difficult at the moment, but would be very easy if there was an option to "compose" or "reply" in another tab!

As far as I know, compose always opens in a new window. I have never seen any way to change that (nor would I want to).

Full Backup of PC Running Virtual Windows XP Under 64-bit Windows 7 Pro on a T410

I have a QuadCore (Intel i7) T410 with a 320GB HDD running 64-bit W7Pro. Under that environment I am running a separate Virtual Windows XP system. The T410 hardware and Virtual PC system allows me to see the primary C: drive of the T410 from either the W7 or XP environment, and the Virtual PC implementation is essentially based on the existence of 3 very large disk files on the primary drive which contain the entire Virtual PC image.
I want to back up my HDD in such a way that I can use the restore function to re-install both the W7 system image and all of its programs and files, and the Virtual PC system image as well. What is the best way to do this.??
(PS -- ignore the old system config associated with my profile -- I will update as soon as I finish this post...)

New app windows opening Under current ones

so I have this strange issue that just suddenly started happening and it's driving me nuts. this only seems to happen when I open applications, never folders, and it does it to ALL applications, so I know it's a system problem. the issue is this: say I've opened FireFox and now decide to open System Preferences. when I click on the System Preferences icon, it appears that nothing has happened, when in fact System Preferences HAS opened, only the Sys Pref window opens UNDER the FireFox window. unless I'm going nuts I seem to remember that all apps opened their new windows on TOP of all other windows. the same thing happens if I open Mail, Word, Safari, you name it. I cannot find any logical preference that I might have changed to cause this, and am really sick of having to find new windows after I open an application. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to say, except something mucked up in memory, where everything running on the machine is stored and operating. You might want to review what you had done since the restart prior to it happening. If it doesn't come back, running the Apple Hardware Test program, extended tests, wouldn't hurt. If you want to thoroughly check out the installed RAM, download and run Rember.

Whenever I start Private browsing, all the tabs and windows which are already open closes and then the Private browsing window opens. All the tabs and windows reopen after I stop Private browsing. What I exactly need is to open a new Private browsing window so that I can continue using the existing tabs. Is there a way of achieving this in Firefox 4?

There was an addon that did exactly this but it's discontinued now. It probably worked the same way as you laid out here.

What that alert means is that your iPhone 5c does not have a newer version of iOS on it to support that back up of your iPhone 4s. To get passed this you would need to update your iPhone 5c to the latest version to then restore from the back up you made with iTunes. XMII apllication window raises above all other windows

When opening url which is already open in another window I want a new instance of this url not to be taken to existing window for this url

I often need multiple instances of the same page open at the same time. I write pages that run complex php/javascript tasks and I need multiple instances open concurrently. The new default ( the latest version of firefox) does not seem to allow this and take you to a previously openned window with that url so assumes that people are just viewing information on a page which is a vast oversimplification of the use of the web. How do I revert to the previous default behaviour. If I want a page that I already have open I always find it for myself thanks. It is a pity that this new behaviour is enforced rather than an option given for enabling it.

If you try to open the same URL in more than one tab then you may have the "Switch to tab" feature preventing that.
Hold down the Alt or Shift key while an entry in the drop down list is highlighted to disable "Switch to tab" and see the URL of all entries instead.
* Alt + Enter opens the highlighted URL in a new tab.
* Shift + Enter opens the highlighted URL in the current tab.
* Cursor Right copies the highlighted URL to the location bar in case you want to edit it.

Create a hyperlink that does not open a new window if a window containing the url is already open?

Is there a way to create a hyperlink to a url that "jumps to" the URL's window if it is already open in the browser? Therefore a new window is not opened and the existing window containing the hyperlink would not change either.
If the target url is not already open, then yes the link could either open in a new window or in its existing window.

A few times a week

Firefox is shutting down windows I want to remain open. Example: I am done viewing one window. I click the X to shut the window and it shuts two windows. Every single time, attempt to close one windows, two windows close. Lately, I have been opening several windows with nothing but google search, just so it will shut that window and not something else I want to remain open. Firefox opens new windows under the current window

Whenever I right-click on a link and tell it to open in a new window, the window opens behind the current window. I have selected "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately". That used to solve this problem but seems to have stopped working.
I have read all the threads on this problem, including the one saying it's caused by Flash.
However, I have checked in safe mode and I still get the same problem.
This started happening around Christmas on three computers. Since then, because of problems getting a driver to install for a new peripheral, I have done a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit, reinstalled FF newest version and restored my profile, but get the same problem. At this point I have started in the FF safe mode which should disable all the add-ons, but the same thing still happens. I have also reset FF using the reset option in the help menu. It doesn't always happen, but it can happen when flash is already running in another window.
Are there a series of steps I can take which will verify that the fault is caused by Flash? I had thought the safe mode would do that.
Honestly, this is enough of a problem to make me switch browsers, and I don't even like any of the other browsers. If you can offer any other suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Safe Mode actually doesn't disable Flash. It's a little confusing: it disables extensions, but not plugins, so "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" is really not a very good description.
If you want to test with Flash disabled, you can set it to "Never Activate" temporarily. Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column that lists the categories, click Plugins. You're looking for "Shockwave Flash." Change it to "Never Activate."
You can keep this tab open during your testing. If you close and re-open the Add-ons page, Shockwave Flash will fall to the bottom with the other disabled plugins.

Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
