New Windows 8.1 computer will not recognize HP Photosmart 6525 Printer.

My father in law got a new computer that has Windows 8.0 and we upgraded it to 8.1. I cannot get the computer to recognize the printer. I have downloaded the drivers and also tried to use the cd that came with the printer. While installing I get the message to connect the printer to the computer but its already connected by a usb cable. I have restarted the computer and also disconnected the cable and reconnected it multiple times. I have also downloaded the HP Install Wizard and it still will not see the printer. I will try the HP scan doctor software later today. The printer is HP Photosmart 6525. Is this printer compatible with Windows 8.1. Thanks!

What loop is occurring when installing the software? If you can provide screenshots of the loop, or any error messages/code, that would be appreciated.
In all honestly, newer printers would have a better chance of working. Personally, I could suggest the Envy 4500 and 5530. I have attempted to install these printers on 8.1, and I witnessed no issues. However, the Photosmart 6525 is compatible with Windows 8.1. More troubleshooting may have to be attempted, before the issue is resolved.

I have an HP Photosmart 7350 printer. I know this printer is supposed to be compatible with Mac, and I installed the optional thing from the DVD for HP printer drivers, but this one I guess wasn't on it. It is not in the list of HP printers when I try to set up the printer and go to the Printer Browser. I went to HP's website in search of a driver. For Windows XP, the 6MB driver works on Parallels. But for Mac OS X, there are files in the upwards of 100MB, none ~6MB. I found a file for hp photosmart install which I was able to extract using StuffIt Expander, but at the step in the installation where I am supposed to click "Utilities", it just closes instead of opening the list of printers. In the add new printer "printer browser," my printer shows up in the list as "photosmart 7350", but in the "Print using" drop down menu, this hp is still not on the list.

I was looking here to post my problem with the 7350 and lo and behold, someone else has the same problem. I have gone through a significant amount more trouble shooting than the original poster with no positive results. The printer worked fine until I upgraded from OS 10.3 to 10.4. Since then I have been unable to print at all. I tried to install the driver via the disk. I tried to download the updated drivers from the website. I have spoken with HP tech support ad nauseum about the issue without any luck. I downloaded the latest GIMP-print version, the driver was not in there. I downloaded GhostPrint and Foomatic, the driver finally appeared in a list as an available selection, but the printer came up with GenericClass:waiting for device. I have used the HP util to install. I have installed via the Printer Browser (printer is connected via USB, direct, no hub). I have gone into the advanced feature of the Printer Setup Utility and add the printer this way with the same results. The printer works on the PC machine that sits on the adjacent desk. I am at wits end! I am this close from going "Office Space" on this machine and buying something else!
Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You will need the help of some sort of 3rd party software to help you copy the content from your Shuffle back to your PC. Once you have done that, you can reimport this music into iTunes and configure it to sync to your new Shuffle.

I had updated the itunes to the latest version and the it was in the process of updating software in the ipod. It said that the download could not be completed. This is a new ipod touch.

I was updating my iphone and the screen changed to "plug into itunes" in the middle of it, but it was already plugged in. Now my computer will not recognize that my iphone is plugged in and it is stuck on the "plug into itunes" screen. what should I do? This just started acting up today. I am able to plug in the ipod to the firewire cable and get it to charge but the computer will not recognize it. It does not show up in iTunes or on My Computer. I have updated iTunes, accessed the device manager to stop and start the ipod service program (as stated in a FAQ), i have restarted my computer. All of these have not solved my problem. Does anyone else have any suggestion? Has this happened to anyone else and if so, how did you fix it. Thanks in advance for any help.

What are you talking about? There is no "compatibility feature" on the iPhone, and .exe files won't run on the phone.

i just bought a new ipod nano 3rd generation and my computer and itunes will not recognize it. i have downloaded the newest version of itunes and my computer meets all of the requirements, and it still is not working. the ipod guide that came with it said that setup assistant should come up, yet it has not.
