New WRT54GL: can't save settings!! (firefox, chrome ..)

Hello,
I bought a new WRT54GL (v 1.1)
Problem: I can't make any changes in the settings, using the webbased configuration.
everytime I click apply/save,  I get a blank page saying:
The webpage at http://192.168.1.1/apply.cgi might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Are you trying to make the changes on your router from a Wired computer or Wireless Computer? What settings you are trying to change on your Router? Have you tried from a different computer and checked if you are facing the same problem or not.

  • Printing setting job log - can't save settings.

Hi, this problem's been around some time with my printing settings.
I am attaching the my setting image as below.
User ID & User Code when printing Color from my computer is '100109'.
I want to permanently save this numbers.
However, every time I try it appears as '100108'; may be my previous setting.
How can I save it as '100109'?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Your image shows that you are using the Presets menu. If the Preset of Color has been saved with a particular User ID/User Code (ex 100108), then delete this Preset and create a new Color preset using the number you want (100109).
To do this, with the Color preset selected, click on the Presets drop menu and select Delete. Then, change to the Job Log menu, enter your 100109 User ID and Code, and then click on the Presets drop menu again and select Save As. Give it the name of Color and click OK.
Now when you print and select the Color Preset, the Job Log menu should show the 100109 User ID & Code.

  • Migrating to new server - Can anyone save me some time?

    Hi all!
I've got a very basic Tiger server setup... only running services are firewall, ftp, mail and web. Web service is supporting 6 virtually hosted domains, and mail service is carrying 1-6 users (eMail accounts) for each of the 6 domains. I'm migrating the web service by manually re-configuring it all on the new machine and moving /library/webserver/documents on a DVD.
Is there a short list of files/directories I can copy over to preserve my mail accounts, users and mail messages? I have a remote user who can't change any settings in her Mail.app, and another user with 4000+ mail messages in his IMAP inbox. One guy has all of his photos and junk sorted into 12 user-created folders within his inbox. Needless to say, I'm in seriously hot water if there is too much disturbance and anything is lost.
Downtime is not an issue - I can stop services for several hours if need be.
Right now my plan is to use mailbfr to backup everything it can, but I don't believe that will move my user account database, will it? I would like to simply clone the HD and drag it to the new server, but the old machine is a G5 and the new one is Intel, so I have my doubts.
    Ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Launch WorkGroup Manager and select the node you are interested in or the node that has all your users; eg: local NetInfo or /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1. Command+A will select all the users in the node, but make sure you de-select the Server admin or Directory admin accounts (depending on which node you are in) as you dont want to transfer those over. Next click on the Server Menu and select Export and save the user list file to a desired location. Do the same for groups. The process works in reverse on the new server. Bear in mind passwords are not transferred over. You can transfer passwords over but it is not a trivial thing to attempt. There is a technical article available on afp548 that outlines how you can do this if you feel brave enough

  • If I restore & set up as new phone, can I save contact data?

I've been searching for a while but still can't find the information I'm looking for...
I have an iPhone3G on an O2-UK contract. When I first upgraded to iOS4, the MMS camera icon disappeared from the left of the message box, and I was unable to send or receive any picture messages.
Then, 2 weeks later, when I reset the network settings the Mobile (Cellular) Data Network option (under Settings > General> Network) completely disappeared leaving me utterly baffled. I wasn't too concerned about it before but now I need to send some photos and it's extremely annoying.
I've been to the local Apple Store and the O2 Store twice and neither of them were ultimately able to do anything about it. They changed the Mobile Data Network settings multiple times and instructed me to restore the phone also.
On my latest restore I completely erased all data from the phone and restored from a backup, but the problem was still there... I know it can't be a hardware problem because BETWEEN erasing the phone and restoring it from the backup the MMS icon and network options all reappeared.
My question is this: If, instead of restoring from the backup, I was to bite the bullet and set it up as a new phone, would I be able to keep all my contacts and other data? Is there a way to transfer my contacts temporarily to the SIM while I carry out the operation?
It's extremely annoying that such a simple operation is so difficult to find... Why are contacts, notes and calender events not available to view and edit in iTunes? I can't see any reason why Apple shouldn't include this obvious feature.

Thanks for the advice wjosten. I haven't actually done the set-up-as-new-phone thing yet so it's not too late for me to do what you've suggested. There are still some problems though...
    1. It says everywhere that contacts and calendar events are supposed to be synched with Outlook, however apparently Windows 7 Starter (for netbooks) does not come with Outlook at all. Can I get it for free somewhere or download some other program?
    2. I've tried synching the ccalendar events with gmail, but it doens't work at all.
    3. The only luck I've had in this regard is that I've managed to save about half of my notes to gmail, but another stupid little annoying thing which is bothering me is how to save all those un-backed-up notes in the "On My iPhone" account into the backed-up gmail account without moving each individual note one-by-one.

  • How can I view the Firefox "chrome" source in Firefox 4?

I set up a userChrome.css file for myself about two years ago and I'm happy to say that '''most''' of it works fine in Firefox 4.
I do need to tweak one item, but I can no longer see how to view the Firefox UI "source" in order to make the change.
What command, tool or add-on do I need to use to view the Firefox 4 user interface "chrome" ? (i.e. HTML and CSS).
I've already spent about 30 minutes searching to no avail; probably using the wrong keywords.

You can open any chrome file in Firefox via the location bar, provided you know the path.<br />
XML (XUL) files need a view-source: prefix.
    chrome://browser/skin/browser.css
    chrome://browser/content/browser.css
    resource:///defaults/pref/firefox.js
    resource:///greprefs.js

  • Can Enery Saver settings affect performance in iDVD

    Hi,
I would like to know if changing the settings in Energy Saver in System Preferences will result in iDVD encoding taking MORE time and thus save on processor heat etc, thus allowing me to fully encode a slideshow and its transitions without the iDVD quitting unexpectedly?
I notice when I encode using BEST PERFORMANCE that I get the encoding to go further than when I choose PROFESSIONAL QUALITY.
    Many Thanks,
    James

allowing your system's hard drive to "sleep" while encoding an iDvd is simply NOT recommended regardless of the fact it may be less CPU intensive. Yes it produces less cpu heat BUT it also makes for a greater number of read / write errors each time you allow the HD to enter sleep mode and the transition in and of itself can trigger the application to quit.
It's best to set these energy saver controls to "Never" while encoding. The only exception is allowing the display to sleep while encoding which can safely be performed while encoding. However my personal preference is to set EVERYTHING to Never and simply turn off the display as it encodes.

  • How can I save my Firefox bookmarks on the iPhone

I managed to save my bookmarks from my pc (browser is Firefox) onto my iPhone, following the advice on a post here about 2 years ago - cant find it now though
I just cancelled mobileme after the free period and have lost all my bookmarks...grrr.
Does anyone know how i can get them back?
Also, how can I sync them with the phone when syncing? (option is only for explorer)
    Thank you!

If you have a recent backup, that has the bookmarks, you may be able to recover them by restoring the iPhone from backup.
To sync the bookmarks, you can exporting your FireFox bookmarks and importing them into Safari or Internet Explorer.
You can sync bookmarks on iPhone with Safari on a Mac, or with Safari or Microsoft Internet Explorer on a PC.

  • Error #-51 ever since moving to new Mac - can't save files

    Hi All,
For whatever reason, I can no longer save anything from Appleworks, new or old. I always get "Unexpected Error Occured. #-51." Anybody know what this means? I've tried throwing out the preference file, reinstalling and also updating to the latest version. No luck.
    thanks,
    Elliott

I tried reinstalling AppleWorks. I'm back to square
one - the program opens but the same error message
comes up when I try to save. If it's an OSX issue,
how do you suggest I proceed?
Error code -51 means: rfNumErr: refnum error.
    <http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/user/lenzo/html/mac_errors.html>
This is a file system error which in plain English means something like "I can't find the reference number for this file". Each file has to have a unique reference number.
In this case, AppleWorks is trying to save a file by asking Mac OS X to do this for it. But Mac OS X is replying by saying it can't create a file with a reference number.
This might be for a number of reasons. My first thought was that the file permissions were stopping the save process by 'locking' a folder. Another explanation is that your account is corrupt in some way. You can confirm this by creating a new User account in System Preferences and seeing if AppleWorks works in it. It could also be that you have hard drive problems. You can start up from your Mac OS X CD and run Disk Utility to confirm whether this is an issue.
My next step would be to:
    1) Create a new User account and test AppleWorks in it. If it works OK, move your documents from your old User account to the new User account, deleting the old User account when you're done;
    2) If this fails, reinstall Mac OS X. An 'Archive & Install' reinstallation saving your network preferences might fix the problem.
    3) If all else fails, reinstall Mac OS X by backing up your hard drive and doing an 'Erase and Install' installation.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • Can't Save settings in Web Service

Strange: Recently, I neeeded to change a few trivial things in the Web Service. But when I click Save, the list of Sites disappears, and if I click back on the Sites button I see that the change I wanted wasn't saved. It doesn't matter what I change -- any setting for any site in Web Service is not Saveable.
Anyone else run into this? Know of a way to solve it?
    ...Rene

Yes, thanks. I've been editing httpd.conf anyway, and whenever I run apachectl configtest, there are no problems with the configuration. So I know that what I've done is okay, and shouldn't cause Server Admin to refuse to cooperate -- but for some reason it does. I mean, at this point, I can't use Server Admin at all for the Web Service, which is starting to make the Xserve feel like nothing more than a pretty Linux box.

  • Unable to save settings in mail app for Mac OS X for iCloud mail?

    Hello
    I have two questions really.
1: I wanted a new email address, was happy to see I could create an iCloud email address - but it seems you need an initial email address to have an iCloud email address. As in, I couldn't use it as my apple ID?
2: I cannot save settings for my iCloud mail because the incoming server is 'greyed out' and the mail app identifies this as the incoming server being blank which it isn't, but I cannot edit it as the 'greyed out' font is locked and unchangeable. Apple state that the incoming server should read as:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
But mine reads this and it won't let me change it. Other wise the email works, but I do need to adjust the settings etc and I can't because the incoming server is apparently blank when it isn't.
    Server name: p09-imap.mail.me.com
I hope this made some sense to someone. I simply wanted a new email address and it's taken up the best part of an afternoon.
    Thank you.

    Problem Solved(ish)
I had to Apple chat, iCloud is set a certain way, and that's it.
They edited my full name FOR ME (I know).
Password is made to match your Apple ID, so that's how to change that.
As for Mailbox behaviours, as I said above - On the left side bar of Mail app, right click or Command Click under Mailboxes iCloud.com and select Get Account Info then> Mailbox Behaviours. Your settings will save then without the whole 'Can't save settings when incoming server is blank.'
I hope Apple will soon make that if they must have an auto-filled Incoming Server, that the Mail app will not recognise it as blank so that we can at least edit Mail preferences when and how we like it.
    Thanks.

  • How can I save my bookmarks, then move them to a new computer when I re-download firefox?

I am getting a new CPU and will download FireFox when I get it. I would like to be able to save and or print my list of favorite bookmarks so I can re-create them on the new computer/FireFox. Is there someway I can just transfer the old bookmarks list to an new computer and a new download of the browser.

    Hello Hellen.
If you're just getting a new CPU, you shouldn't need to worry about backing up your information, since you don't need to format your hard drive to change the CPU.
However, and I don't mean to insult you in any way, so please forgive me for my assumption, if you're referring to the computer (the tower itself, with the drives, boards and all that) as a "CPU", hopefully this support article is what you need:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information
The main thing to remember is that you don't need to just back up your bookmarks. You can port your ''whole'' Firefox experience (that includes passwords, history, cache, settings, add-ons, bookmarks, home pages, absolutely everything) from computer to computer by just copying your profile folder around. It's a brilliant thing that many people don't know, and often people will start all over again, which is totally unnecessary and definitely a big shame. I hope this helps.

  • How can I save my current Firefox customization to install on a new Windows 7 installation

This is not asking for a problem fix.
How can I save my current Firefox 3.6 customization, toolbar set-up, plug-ins, add-ons, etc. to a file or files so I can install it, pre-customized, after I do a re-format and clean install of a new Windows 7 operating system?
I am currently in Windows Vista.
I'm just trying to make it so I don't have to re-customize everything I already have done by doing a fresh installation of Firefox.
Or can I just save the existing Mozilla Firefox program folder and then drag and drop it into the new programs folder in Windows 7?
    Thanks,
    numetro

A couple of links that can help with this, [[Backing up your information]] and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base]. The second one includes a link to a free utility that can make this easier.
Just saving the progams folder will not work, the user data is stored elsewhere.

You can bookmark all those tabs and place them in a folder.
    * "Bookmark This Page" and "Bookmark All Tabs" no longer show in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
