New Zen Vision:M Intermittent Audio Dropo

I have a new Zen Vision:M which has started to exhibit audio dropouts. The player will be working fine, but then without warning, the audio will drop out in one or both earpieces. I can see from the screen that the player is still operating, but the audio has failed. Turning the player on and off two or three times will restore the audio, allowing the earphones and their connection to the player to be ruled out as the source of the problem.
If anyone else has experienced this problem and solved it, please let me know.
Thanks very much.
Sincerely,
Ron

Have you tried switching head phones. That may be the issue.

  • New zen vision m mod

Just wondering if a new zen vision m model will be coming out soon? I know it has been out for a while and I am looking at buying the zen vision m but not sure if i should wait.

I tried the Zen Vision and I really liked it. It is basically a horizonal MP3 Player vs the Parallel type MP3 players like the Zen Vision:M. The buttons are fantastic, much, much better than the touch pad on the ZV:M. The display is 3.7" and the text information is very, very crisp and easy to read. However, I did find it a bit darker than the ZV:M. It is translucent, which means that like the iPod you can actually see what is on the screen with the light in the room or outdoors without using the backlight. The ZV:M is just totally dark and you can't see anything on it without the backlight.
There are a few things missing from the ZV, which are found on the ZV:M. Ability to protect and hide folders. 2 colors for backgrounds, but no ability to set a picture as a background/wallpaper. ZV:M has 5 backgrounds and allows you to set any picture you want as a background. ZV: backlight is either on or off. There is no fade down to 0% like on the ZV:M
Advantages of the ZV, user replaceable battery, you can also buy an extended battery, which increases run time by almost double. The port on the side that allows you to download pictures directly within the unit itself. It's pretty sweet, I test it out and I found it worked good. It's a bit slow on larger pictures though. But if you use smaller resolution generally its okay.
Gi'ven what you are wanting, I'd say you really should consider the ZV. It is available in black or white. I got the black one and its kind of a corragated black, so it doesn't show finger prints. However, after getting the black one, I really wish I had gotten the white one. What can I say, I like white.
    Good Luck!

  • Does the new zen vision m have the same headphone jack probl

I would like to know because my zen micro had the headphone problem after about 8-9 months
and I want a new Mp3 player by creative because I don't like going mainstream when it comes to Ipods.

I havent heard of it having any headphone jack issues like the micro had. I believe it was corrected on all of thier new players.

  • New Zen Vision

After a long search in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I finally got my ZVM 60GB. I purchased it on 02-02-2008. When purchasing it, I thought the player a tad thick. Prior to purchasing, I did my research and found out that the new batch of ZVM 60GB was made slimmer than the pervious models and now as thin as the ZVM 30GB model. I still thought it was the later batch. Upon inspecting the player's info, it stated the year as 2005 but the user guide stated 2006. So was i cheated into getting the later model? If I was and the sales person declines to change, what can I do? I don't think Creative will reimburse me, right? Anyways, the player plays like a gem. I love it!! But still think it's a bit tad too thick...

That's really something you'd have to discuss with the store, to check with them whether you can return the player for a refund if you're not happy. Were you told by the salesperson that the player you were purchasing was a slimmer version?

  • Possible to reformat my new Zen Vision:M to remove last users data e

    Hey guys.
I just wondered if it's possible to reset the unit back to its factory settings at all?
Would this be done if I updated the firmware for example?
Any info would be much appreciated.

Just delete the stuff you don't like for now, enjoy it while you still don't have any bigger problem.
I'm affraid if you start formating and reloading the Firmware, you might bump into bigger problem.
Such as your PC/Windows/WMP won't recognized your player.
    BTW, are you from Indonesia?

  • Zen Vision M Hanging Is

I have a new Zen Vision M I picked up in Singapore last week (June , 2006). It seems to hang quite a bit. When this happens it will repeat the last perhaps 6th second of audio over and over....kind of a long stutter and not respond to any buttons. I have had to reset the device using the hole at the bottom. I had to do this several times on the Singapore -> Melbourne flight (6+ hours). In the last week I have had to reset several more times. Once when powering it up it hung. It seems I have to keep a pin taped to the device to regularly reset it. Looking around on this site I see references to this problem happening with Firmware version .2x, but this device came with .30.02 on it when I purchased it. Just in case I tried downloading .30.02 and installing it anyway, but all I get is a message that says: Your player is not connected, please connect your player.
I would love to see this problem go away and I look forward to any suggestions on how to fix it.

I had similar problems with a Zen Vision M purchased less than two weeks ago.
I was running firmware .40.x at the time, so that was not the problem.
I did the Rescue Mode Clean up of the dri've. But the problem recurred. So that was not the problem.
Thinking it might be some form of electronics or hard dri've problem, I just let the player play music continuously trying to exacerbate the problem and get it to reproduce the problem.
After a week of owning it, the player became so wedged that not even a reset would resolve the problem. Literally the unit would not reboot and I had to let the battery completely run out as there was no way to do a hard power reset (i.e. pull the battery).
Last night I returned it to BestBuy and exchanged it for a new unit. So far no problems withn the past 20 hours. (The first unit had some UI sluggishness and non responsi'veness the first day out). While the unit booted fine at the BestBuy exchange department, by the time I was signing the paperwork for the exchange, the technician on duty said the player had hung itself.
I'm letting the player play music continously to see if player was a bum player or of player 2 is part of a manufacturing batch problem.
I like my wife's Creative Zen Microphoto so am disappointed by the experience with this first ZVM and the fact that I only got an automated reply from Creative Customer support and no other responses after 0 days.

  • Creative Zen Vision:M Anoun

    http://www.engadget.com/entry/2340005707380/
"Creative is introducing their new Zen Vision:M, an answer to Apple?s <FONT color=#337788>5G iPod, and what an answer it is. We know it gets old hearing every new player get compared to Apple?s flagship offering, but can you seriously blame us here? The specs are vaguely familiar, with a 2.5-inch screen at 320x240 resolution and a 30GB hard dri've, though thankfully Creative squeezed in 4 hours of video playback, doubling Apple?s endurance on at least video. (The audio playback conks out at hours.) The size of the two players is virtually identical, with the Zen Vision:M only changing it up on thickness ? at about twice the iPod?s 0.43-inches.
They?re also forging their own path on button placement, sporting a layout similar to that of their <FONT color=#337788>Zen Micro Photo, and including a vertical scroll pad. Creative did add their usual FM tuner and voice recording niceties, and they have a decent list of video format support, including MPEG-4, WMV, Motion JPEG, DivX, and XviD, so this $330 player could turn out to be a worthy candidate for video capable commuting buddy ? if Apple?s lawyers don?t have something to say about it first. "
    What do you think?

Covered in 3 or 4 other threads I think. These boards do get confusing though. Too... many... posts!

  • Zen Vision M 30gb Prob

I have a relati'vely new Zen Vision M 30gb player, which as of today stopped working.
It will not turn on, will not charge or interface with the computer. When plugged into the computer a blue light flashes at the top of the player, and the same occurs when attempting to turn on. I have tried recovery mode to no avail and the resets do naught.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

No helping me. I just got mine about 5 weeks ago and its been working great. I charged it overnight last night to take to the gym and it didn't work. So I though that maybe the outlet I charged it on was popped or something. I verified that it worked. I plugged it in again and I have the blue light, but I just chekced and the battery meter barely had a line, and that was after 7 hours. I unplugged it and it wouldn't turn on. Any idea. I am currently charging it now and there is a blue light again. It just doesn;t seem to hold a charge

  • Zen Vision M 60GB Player recognition w

Hello everyone. I have a Zen Vision M 30 GB player that I've had for a year and love it, so I recommended the product to my boyfriend. He received his 60 GB player in the mail today from amazon.com. Problem: Neither Windows Media Player NOR the Creative Media Explorer recognize the player. My 30GB player is instantly recognized on his computer with his cable, and on my computer with my cable. His player is NOT recognized on either machine, with either cable. Because the 30GB is recognized, I've ruled out faulty USB ports or cables as a problem. BUT...he did plug his in and charge it up, and while it was charging, about 0GB of his 30GB music collection was transferred to his player, with no particular rhyme or reason, and no direction from him. Obviously, at one point, it saw the player or it wouldn't have been able to transfer the music that it did. Both computers in question are running Windows XP SP 2 with all current updates applied,?He has emailed customer support, but it's Friday night and we aren't hopeful that we'll hear anything before Monday. Any ideas in the meantime? I searched for an updated driver, but none were posted on the web site. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!?~Val in IL

for new zen vision, you need to charge for 5+hrs in order for PC to recognise itdo you have a charger, it will do a better job

  • Use of Zen Vision M with in car media player functionali

I have an Alfa Romeo car which has the "Blue & me" option. This supports media players syncronised via Windows Media player to play music back via the in car entertainment system (plugged in via a USB port in the car).
I have successfully used an Apple ipod(syncronised with MP3 files) and a NOMAD MUVO player but cannot get my new Zen Vision M to be recognised by the system in the car. Does anyone have experience of this and any possible soltuions?
    Many thanks
    Paul

I have just bought an Alfa with Blue & Me media player and would like to know how to get around the problem of my Zen not being recognised by the system. I have used a friends ipod?and it worked so I know that the actual car system works. I have contacted Alfa but they have just turned it around and asked me to contact Creative for a solution, (and let them know the outcome!!)? which I have done and are still awaiting a reply. I would be grateful if anybody has come up with a solution to this problem if they could let me know. Hoping for an answer . GW

  • Warranty ZEN Vision:M HE

    Hello everyone,
I can have a deal on a new Zen Vision:M but the guy is trying to sell me another warranty saying that the company warranty doesn't cover the battery (the battery is actually the reason why I am not sure about getting that player and I am thinking about a MicroPhoto instead) so if the battery broke, my player is dead. I don't want to spend 350$ on a player and have the battery die soon. What do you think I should do? Go with the MicroPhoto where I can change the battery and try the ZEN Vision. Thank you for your help!

Sorry to post again after my post but I need to make up my mind today about the Zen Vision:M since the sale ends today in Canada and I was wondering if I have to take the best buy warranty at all? I checked and it is not true that the warranty does not cover the battery so he lied to me.
Is the warranty that Creative gives is enough or should I take also the one from Best Buy. They always put doubts in my mind so I never know what to do with their warranty.
My other question is just because I cannot replace the battery, should I go with the MicroPhoto 8Go?

  • Zen Vision:M Import Probl

I just got my new zen vision:M a few days ago and when I connected it to my computer it wouldn't pop up at all, even after I downloaded all the software from the CD's so I ended up updating the drivers which made it so the computer would actually detect it... But now.. I have a different problem, when I go to the ZEN Vision:M Series Media Explore and click " Add Media" and then add all the media I want on it then click next and then the import screen pops up and it just sits there.. Sooo I couldn't add any of my tracks or anything, however I did go to my computer and then went to " My Zen" and just copied and pasted some stuff but I still really want to know why can't I add music and files from the Zen Media Explore?? With my other zens it seemed a bit more convenient to import them through the Media Explore, I also tried going to windows media player, I believe I have version 0 or and my player can't be detected there either for syncing.
    Thanks

i am not real smart about these things, but i just bought vision m and am running vista, i had many probs some like yours, when i called in they said you can't use the cd that came in the package, you have to install from the web site. first for the zen, then for the components ie: library? rec play for sure media explorer. etc. i suggust u contact zen, cause i am not sure at all if this applies.
