Newbie: Change PSD image pulled from an existing website via DW (CS4)

I need to make a minor change to an image created in photoshop.
The image is from a website I took over from another designer and downloaded to Dreamweaver, and I successfully uploaded the image to Photoshop. However, since the image (in this case, the website header) is flattened, the only way I know to make the update I need is to create a "patch" for the part I need changed and try to match the font, color, and other elements.
Since I did not create the original file I do not have the layered version.
I have a number of sites to update with the same challenge. Is there an alternative to either creating the patch or having to reconstruct the PSD image from scratch?
Thanks in advance for any advice -
KE

I would rebuild the file.

  • Need help with adding lightbox feature to images pulled from .js

    Hello,
    I've been attempting to add a lightbox to separate images (no group) in a responsive one page portfolio template. Unfortunately I'm not savy with this topic.
    The template came with a hover action to apply what I would believe to be a light box image but no other documentation on how to add it to the images. I've looked everywhere.
    The portfolio gallery is built in .js Here is some code The image code you see is just copied over and over to add images.
    BTW - Lightbox mxp only allows you to add to an image when clicked on in the properties. These images are pulled from .js

    Your document contains links to jQuery scripts.  But I don't see any lightbox in there.  It appears to be using jQuery's core library as well as  scripts for carousel and scrolling/show & hide features.

  • Dynamic Image Pulled From Web?

    Is there any way to get Keynote to pull an image from a website and put it in a looping presentation and update it every so often?
    I use Keynote for an always looping TV "infochannel" and I'm looking to pull a weather radar image off the web and display it in Keynote.
    I've tried everything I can think of, whatever I try just gets cached into Keynote and the only way to update it is to re-load the presentation, which isn't an option for me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forums, tgolebie.
    Keynote doesn't allow live updating of web content. As you've found, any inserted webview is essentially just a screen capture of the page, with an optional hyperlink to the page. The capture image can be automatically updated when the presentation is opened, but that's about it.
    You might display the weather image in a different application that runs full-screen, and use a timed AppleScript to flip between that app and Keynote by hiding each in turn. But that's kinda kludgy.
    It may be that something like Revolution (which I believe can do live updating of web content) would be more appropriate for this kind of project.

  • How to create resized image instance from an existing image

    It looks like the image class does not provide a possibility to create a resized instance. Image#impl_getURL() would be good enough to create a resized instance of an existing image - but could be removed in a future release. So what's the preferred way if I have an image object only - there's no information about the based image resource.

    You can resize an image on loading using one of the constructors that takes requestedWidth and requestedHeight parameters. This is useful for preserving memory when (for example) needing to display a large number of thumbnails.
    Additionally, the ImageView class defines resizing functionality for the view of an Image. So you can load the full Image, then display one or more resized versions in ImageView(s).
    If you need, you can retrieve an Image object representing the ImageView by calling snapshot(...) on the ImageView; for most use cases the ImageView itself will be all you need.

  • Computer changes default image app from PS to AI by itself

    I'm not sure where I should post this. I have my computer set to open all bitmap images in Photoshop (TIFFs, JPEGs, GIFs, BMPs, PNGs, etc). About once a month, my computer decides to make Illustrator the default application for images. It's annoying as bloody hell. Anybody have an idea as to what causes this?

    There must be a system or software that updates once a month that is either conflicting and telling the system to see Illustrator as the default or is corrupting the preferences so it looks like Illustrator is the default app.

  • IMAQdx Grab changing my images from 16 bit to 8 bit?

    I have a labview application that I am trying to use with 16 bit images.  It is currently running and working with 8 bit images.  I though that if I changed the image type from 8 bit to 16 bit and changed the settings on my camera from 8 bit to 1 using MAX that the program would run the same but with 16 bit images instead.  However, even when I do this the camera only captures 8 bit images and then the application fails because of an incompatible image type error because all the settings are set to 16 bit images.  I set a few probes and realized that very early in my application all my images are 8 bit even when the camera is set to a 16 bit setting.  Also the resolution of my images is different than what the camera is set to.  I think that the culprit is IMAQdx Grab because I was reading in the help that if the image type does not match the video format of the camera then IMAQdx Grab changes the image type to a suitable format.  How can I make it so IMAQdx Grab wont change the image type?  I am fairly new with LabView so this might be something simple or not.  Thank you.

    Hi Optical Intern,
    It sound to me that you are having problems with getting the camera file to do what you want.  My guess is that you are not saving the attributes in Measurement and Automation (MAX) when you change them.  If you are saving them then I would try and set the attributes programmatically in your VI.  This should force it to what you want within the program.  Let me know how it goes.

  • How do I change an image border color to another color - Dreamweaver CS5?

    Good day,
    I have just learned how to add a border to an image with Dreamweaver CS5 within the Properties Inspector.
    After typing the width in pixels in the Border Text Field and pressing the Enter key, Dreamweaver created a black border.
    How do I change the image border color to another color?

    I added your suggested rule to the Style Sheet "in any order" as you explained. See the image below.
    However this did not change the image border from black to light blue. In fact, nothing changed.
    Nothing changed because the CSS that has been written into DW is incorrectly written.
    You want the following (exactly as written below)
    img {border: 4px solid #0062C8;}
    You've inadvertently wrapped the rule inside a #main_image container rendering it meaningless.
    It's easiest to go into Code View and change
    #main_image {
         img {border: 4px solid #0062C8;
    to
    img { border: 4px solid #0062C8; }
    The Property Inspector added a border exactly as I wanted it, other than the color I wanted the border to be. What is the use of this function in Property Inspector if it can add a border within Property Inspector but not let me change the COLOR of the black border that Property Inspector added, to another color?
    That's a deceptively simple, yet valid, question with a long answer.
    Back in the dark old days of web design web designers were restricted to inline HTML formatting which offered  border properties but no colors.
    CSS styling offers colors and more but has to be written differently.
    These days. it's best to avoid HTML formatting. Unfortunately border="4px" in the PI still allows it. But does not permit color.
    Does anyone else out there ever add color borders to their IMAGES (not the containing box for the image) ?
    Yes, using CSS.

  • How do I change the image resolution of a photo?

    Hi..,
         I am the beginner in Photoshop.
         I want to change one image resolution from 72 dpi to 300 dpi.
         So, I search and got one pdf for change the resolution of the image. In that they mention, take the "Printscreen" of the image and paste in the photoshop and change the mode(Index - flatten) and change resolution via the "Image -> image size -> Resolution".
         Like that i did, it changed correctly.
         After that I Open one already saved image file in Photoshop and do that same steps but the resolution was not changed.
    So, now how to change that saved image resolution to 300 dpi...??
    Regards.,
    VISWA

    Viswa,
    To find the current resolution of your image, follow these steps:
    With your image open in Photoshop, Image > Image Size (Like you've already done earlier).
    Check the resolution as shown above. If it doesn't show 300, enter 300, hit OK and 'Save' your image.
    Open the file and check again. If it still shows 72, post back with more details of the type of file you're trying to open in Photoshop and if possible, a screenshot so we can help.

  • How can I change the image quality of a background image on a master slide?

    I can change the image quality from low to high for other images in my Captivate project, but the background image I'm using on my master slide looks pixellated. I would like to change this image to high-quality but I don't see the option in my properties panel on my master slide.
    Thanks for any help!

    You cannot import AI images directly. However, when I use Illustrator drawings, I'll import them as smart object in Photoshop and then you can import the PS-layer.
    The quality you set in Captivate is not for individual images, but for the slides that are published as bitmap. This means that it doesn't matter if the object is on a master slide or on a regular slide IMO

  • Screensaver Changes What Images It Displays

    Hi there.  So I've upgraded to Yosemite.  Before with Mavericks I never had this problem.  I like to use the screensaver and pull random pictures from iPhoto and changes every 5 seconds.  It doesn't matter what style of screensaver I use, even though "Floating" is my favorite.  But I will change it to pull from Photo Library --> iPhoto --> Photos and then select "Shuffle Slide Order".  It works fine for a day or two but always reverts to the National Geographic slides eventually.
    Anyone know why this is happening or if there is some setting somewhere that I need to look at?
    Ben

    And my color profile also switches to adobe rgb for no reason at all....

  • How to change background image in existing template?

    Hi
    Current website needs overall change in background image which is already set in template. Is there anyone who knows how to change background image in existing templates?

    Make a friend with firebug &  you could find yourself from where it is getting applied.
    For the website you have given the background image it is using is [1] and it is getting set in css of body tag [2]. So Find the css at [3] and modify it OR replace [1] with other image with same file name.
    [1]   www.hanwha.com/etc/designs/hanwha/images/bg-body.jpg
    [2]
    body {
        background: url("images/bg-body.jpg") repeat-x scroll 50% 0 #FFFFFF;
        color: #757373;
        font: 14px/18px Arial,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif;
        margin: 0;
        min-width: 979px;
