Newbie hello g70-70

hi everyone new owner of g70-70, I HATE 8.1 and want to downgrade to 7. I have created a backup of the system to an external hd. I have located my win 8 product key and saved it to a doc. my questions are; it has a hybrid 8gssd with tb mechanical drive, if I use the Lenovo OKR and install win 7, will this create any issues with this hd or can I just format it completely and install 7? I have already downloaded all the win 7 and win8 drivers for the lappy from Lenovo. if I wanted to use restore media in the future would it still work if I had previously put 7 onto the hd? thanks andy

If you are going to downgrade, your options are either to set up as Dual Boot (not easy with win 8) or wipe the drive and go with a fresh install of Windows 7.
Either way - make sure you have successfully created your "Factory Restore Disks" before you do anything. The OKR will not be available in Windows 7 after downgrade as the partition it was linked to will no longer exist.
As an alternative - you might be able to get a set of Windows 7 recovery disks from Lenovo, if they exist... This would give you the OKR options for Windows 7, and have all the drivers preloaded to match.

Newbie- Java simply put, isn't to me

I am totally ignorant about computers & how they work. All I know is the problems that I have when I turn on my PC. For instance, the other night I was at a web site and I was playing a game. The next thing I know is I got dropped from the game & I saw this message, "java script error". I didn't know what it meant and I still don't. I went to my find menu and typed in, java, just to see what i'd find. What I found is too confusing for me to understand.
What I would like to know is, obviously Java does exist in my PC, but is it possible that somehow it got corrupted in some way that caused me to get that error message? I would also like to know in detail how I can determine what version of Java do I have & if need be, how do I go about upgrading to a newer version. As I said, I'm totally lost when it comes to computers and at this point I'm not even sure if this forum is where I need to be. Any reasonable suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated by this "newbie"

If I may say so, if you can create a file (SOME file) in any given programme and save it to any given folder on any of your hard disks, and the next day still remember what sort of file you created and where you put it - then you know a lot more about computers than a coupla folks I know (includes my mother :-) )!
Well I don't know how much you know, so I reckon if you consider yourself "ignorant about computers" then maybe it's not a very good idea to start getting interested in java. I mean it's pretty hard if you simply lack some basics on a topic and then all of a sudden try to become specific. I know myself... I bought my computer because I needed to record a music demo and thought this would be the easiest way to ensure ok quality and the ability to do the recording any time I like myself. It took aaaaaages for me to get the computer to do what I wanted it to... but I needed the basics. And I think if it hadn't been so important to me (and besides I'm very curious about computers on a very broad basis), I would have given up and turned to other things to spend so much time on. But that's something you have to know yourself. If you're really interested, you'll find out. But be assured, it's gonna cost you hours on hours, half of your nights, you'll get square eyes, and if you're not keen on reading then you better not go further. :-)

What am I doing wrong? Newbie trying to learn advanced actions

I'm really hoping somebody can help me with this. I was hired on to my present job to learn Captivate and create quizzes. The thing is, a lot of the quizzes involve looking at screen-grabs for an answer. Before I came, the quiz-builders were basically using the forward and back keys for functionality, but one of my first assignments was, "Get the screen-grab to appear on the same slide as the question."
I figured out how to do that by doing a rollover slidelet...only there doesn't seem to be a way to add a slidelet to one of the default quiz slides. In addition, we need the option for partial scoring. Either way, all of this led me to Lilybiri's wonderfully educational posts on how to create custom questions, which involve advanced actions.
So I rolled up my sleeves and got the Extended Radio Buttons widget from Captivate Dev. I'm using Captivate 5.5, I've got 4 possible answers and one correct answer. Three buttons on the slide: Submit, a nextOK and a nextVOID. Submit brings up an advanced action that calls nextOK if the answer is correct, which reports 1 point. If the answer is incorrect, nextVOID is supposed to be called and doesn't report anything. I can get the right answer to show, but when the answer isn't right, I can click the "Next" button to my heart's content, and nothing happens.
If this were photoshop or another program I know, I'd know where to go and what to do to try and trouble-shoot this problem, but I am just completely stumped. Can somebody please tell me if I'm a) taking the completely wrong approach or b) on the right track and I just need to add this little tweak I would never have thought of?

JCOP tools without GUI

Hello,
i would like to know, what scripts is JCOP tools exactly running while building Java files (generating class files) and converting them to CAP files. I.e. what does "Build autoimatically" exactly do in ECLIPSE IDE with JCOP plug-in? What .jar files are also used?
I.e. i want to be able to rebuild my Java Card projects for different version os java cards without opening the Eclipse IDE, openning projects and building them in IDE.
I would appreciate nay information.

1. Eclipse IDE produces slightly different .class files than i do by using
javac -source 1.3 -target 1.2 -g options during the compilation. May be it uses additional options?
2. Perhaps, as a result, a bit different CAP files are produced that the ones built automatically using Eclipse IDE GUI. Those CAP files also slightly differ in size (usually smaller tha mines). The only components that differ in size are:
Method.cap
Debug.cap.
The files produced through command line work just fine. I guess, that JCOP tools may additionally optimize the .class files to produce a bit smaller .CAP files.
3. Regarding the version information JCOP tools tric.jar produces
CAP files with version M=2, m=1 when using JC211 API, and
CAP files with version M=2, M=2 when using JC221.
I also converted the same files uding JCDKv2.2.1. It produces CAP files of version M=2, M=1.
In my opinion, all the problems that occured in the aforementioned post by Lillesand were caused by wrong usage of the JC2.2.2 export files.
I totally agree with you, lexdabear regarding choosing only one solution. In case you are using JCOP tools (through GUI or command line) you must use JCOP JC API .jar files and tric.jar converter.
If you are using JCDK, you must use its api.jar library with export files and converter from JCDK (coverter.bat).

I've bought two episodes of Game of Thrones Season 1 through iTunes and would like to take advantage of the Complete Your Season offer.
But whilst I can see the series I want listed under Complete Your Season and I can see that two of the episodes have been downloaded, it is not showing a reduced price?

Importing two itunes settings into one

Some advice please!
I have two Mac's iMac with Music and a PowerMac with my movie/Tv shows on.
I would like to import my Music file over to the PowerMac so Music and Movies/Tv shows are all on one computer.
The problem i have is iv transfered all music over but i cant seem to be able to transfer my settings and playlists so all is put into order.
Does anyone now of a way.

How do you run procedure with declare on sql plus

My huge keyframing mistake . . .

I think I learned this the hard way. I was using keyframes to animate a rotoshape on top of a video clip. Many, many position moves and rotoshape shape changes by moving the points of the rotoshape. Hundreds and hundreds of keyframes. The rotoshape I was animating had about six or eight points that gave it its shape.
Toward the end of the animation, I was making the rotoshape smaller and smaller. I deleted points, going from the original six or eight points down to three points. I assumed that each time I deleted a point, that would set a new keyframe (I had the master keyframe button beneath the viewer window toggled on).
To my amazement, this changed my rotoshape at frame 6,000 that previously had eight points to a rotoshape that had three points. The rotoshape distorted and did not cover what it was supposed to anymore.
It seems like my keyframing from frame 6,000 to 12,000 did not hold up under the change I made -- deleting points on the rotoshape -- around frame 13,000. So all my early keyframing work was wiped out, apparently.
Has anyone else had that experience, or is there some magic button I failed to push that would have told it to have keyframes apply to the deleting of rotoshape points? Or if you start out with a rotoshape that is defined by eight points, does that mean you have to finish with a rotoshape that has eight points?
On Page 165 - 166 of the "Volume II: Compositing" manual, it gives the rules for keyframing, but I did not see anything about how it applies to deleting of points on a rotoshape.
Anyway, excuse me while I go scream. I thought I was done with my little project. I guess not. It's hard out here for a Shake newbie.

the number of points could not be animate in a rotoshape.
I think that it's because if you delete a point all the geometry of your shape change. So for all the frame before the shape is a new interpolation with the new numbers of points.
I always work with the same numbers of points from the beguin to the end, that's why you must put the minimum of points, and prefer to separate in different shape different part of you want to select.

PROBLEM WITH HELLO WORLD FILE IN JAVA!!! PLZ ASSIST ME, THE NEWBIE! THNX!!

This is horrible, I get this new Java programming book and my computer isn't working with the files. #1: The *.java files appear not as the little java character, but as a notepad file that says it's a java type file, I saved it correctly too. #2: Also, when I made it a class file, the class file appears as a white paper with little icons on it (u usually get this when you've got an unknown file on your hands. This file also says in the subtext that it is the correct file-type ".class". #3: Okay, now I've gotten to the part where I am trying to run the program in DOS, but when I attempt this by typing "java Hello"and hit enter, DOS replies with "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: hello". Please help me out! Thanks!!

Hello, I am a newbe, and I need help. I have used WD for a very long time, since w95 I think.

I had a PC I coud not fix-all companies say-forget it! But WD sent me a Disk. And gave me instructions on how to fix. It was some deep PC stuff. Low level format or someother stuff like that. It took great work for me, but when I finished and it worked!!! I felt like I completed one of those calculas problems that took 5 pages just to get to the anwser!!
You can't imagine how itt feels unkess you have felt it!!

There is much space that I can not controll!! This is very frustating as I do not have money to spend unnessaryly. I seem to remember haveing a disk to use with my new WD External Hard Drive. I have what I call 2 partitions. "H" and "G" They are both big. My "H" volume has 195GB, and my "G" has 292GB. That comes out to 487 GB. Where is the other 263 GB? I am sking for help here. It can't be that hard!
So any help is very much appreciated, I am at the end of my PC journey, and thats ok.

It is possible the remaining space is unallocated.
Verify this in disk management.
If that's the case then you can create a new partition with that space.

Hello all - Newbie here wanting help transferring files

Have had my Blackberry Curve for a couple of months and have mastered the basics. I did transfer music and photo's from my PC to my Blackberry fine but all of a sudden there is a problem with this.....I can't transfer anything to my Blackberry now - either by PC or by Bluetooth. My PC gives an error message that each file cannot be transferred and my Bluetooth is paired with the other device but will not send anything! Can anyone help?

Bluetooth file transfer is supported only between two BlackBerry smartphones. Can you provide more information on what happens transferring the files via USB please? Do you have a media card in your BlackBerry? What version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager do you have installed? Are you using the Desktop Software to transfer media files? What happens when you try dragging media files onto your media card from Computer/My Computer using Mass Storage?

Hi my name is Gary and I am a newbie to Flash player and what it is I can do and not do with it. Actually, I have some time on my hands since I got layed off and I haven't a clue what I am doing and could use some help getting started.

Internet Explorer 8 version 8.0.6001.18702 not sure what bit version but I'm thinking 32 but.
Not exactly sure what else I would need to tell you info wise, so please feel free to ask and how I can find this info out.
My main questions are, am I able, is it possible or even allowed to download .FLV files to my hard drive and how do I do it to view at a later time? I can go into details at a later time.
I have read a lot of info and have even downloaded a few .exe files, like FLASH SAVING PLUG-IN for IE8, thinking I was going in the right direction but seems to me nothing is working like I thought it would. I have the button on my toolbar but when I try to save a file things just disapper and I don't know why.

Hello! Newbie with PROBLEMS! Audio recording majorly DELAYED?!?!?!?? help?

Hello there! I LOVED Logic 7, was very happy to get Logic 8. Then I installed Leopard. Now Logic is F'ed up. At first I had the Coremidiserver not responding issue. I deleted those MIDI drivers as well as Reason and my Melodyne rewire and bridge plugins. But when I want to do an Audio recording, Logic freezes, I get the rainbow death wheel for 60 seconds, and THEN it starts recording. It is really bad for creativity to have to wait to get the audio track to record. Does anyone know what could be going on or how I can fix it? I am using an Mbox2. I have the Line6 Toneport, but that is not working although it works for my boyfriend who has the same computer, logic 8 and leopard. I'm confused!!! what should i do? Can genius bar help me? Sorry for sounding neurotic, I'm just really anxious to make music an d not have all these technical issues! Thank you VERY VERY much for any advice.

Are you recording to a macBook Pro internal hard drive? or to an external drive?
How much memory do you have?. The delay of 60 sec before recording is not normal. Your computer is checking something else, or is forced to do another task before executing the command of recording
logic 8 need a lot of memory the absolute minimum is 1 GB of Ram but 2 GB or more is highly recommended.
