"Newbie" How do I "Make a URL"?

I am new to this and need to see if anyone can help me. So, apologies are in order in advance, if this is a dumb question.
I work in a school district and I am trying to put our podcast on our streaming server. However, our Tech Director is so busy, he does not have time to respond to my calls for help. So my hope lies in my bretheren here on the Apple Discussion Boards!
OK, I have put the podcast in a directory that looks like this: file:///Users/acms/Sites/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html
When completed it should come across as a URL like this:
http://stream.xxxxxx.org/~acms/Sites/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html (I have x'ed out our district site.)
But it does not. I get the error page:
MAC OS X Server
File not found!
The URL you have loaded has not been found on this server.
He asked me in an e-mail:
Did you make the url when u posted http://stream.xxxxxx.org/~acms/?
That is the last guidance I got from him.
So my question is this; how do I make the URL he is talking about?

Take out "Sites". So it should be http://stream.xxxxxx.org/~acms/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html

How can I make the URL change to show which page of flash I'm on?

Hey, this is a bit confusing to explain, but say I have a
flash site, just one swf file embedded in an html file. So you go
to www.mysite.com/index.html, and you see the main page.
In the flash site you have a button that just goes to a
different frame in the movie, aka a different page. Thing is, the
URL still shows index.html. This isn't a big problem, and is
technically 100% correct, but what if you want people to be able to
type www.mysite.com/gallery.html to access the gallery of your
site?
The only way I could imagine this working, is gallery.html
would just be a redirection site, which would go to index.html with
some arguments to go to the gallery frame of the site. or people
could go to www.mysite.com/index.html?=gallery (I dont know how
those setups work, is it PHP?)
The main reason I don't just have many html pages with
different swfs embedded in them is because then when you click a
link, you see a quick flash as the browser loads gallery.html
I am just wondering what the best setup is so all of your
pages are seamless together, no flashes on page switches or
anything, but while keeping differentiable URLs.
My current site uses transparent iframes so that the page
switch isn't noticable

URLs are not "live" in my Yahoo email account since I switched to Firefox. How can I make the URL in my signature line live?

I put an automatic signature beneath each outgoing email, and that signature includes a URL. I've sent emails to myself in both my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts, and the URL does not come through as live. That is, I can't just click on it and go. I have to copy/paste it into a browser window, and most people won't do that. It's a full URL:

You know, in the pages, when mouse hovers on a link, the url of it appears on the bottom. But in some older version of nightly build, it displays in the address box instead. I quite like this feature, and how can I find this back?

You can use the "Create Anonymous Link" option in Adobe Send to create a link to your PDF, which you can ten include in your newsletter. Please follow these steps:
Log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/send (if you don't already have an Acrobat.com account, you can sign up at the same link).
Click Select Files to Send.
Navigate to the PDF file that you want to link to, select it, and then click Choose.
Select Create Anonymous Link, and then click Create.
Copy the link and paste it into your newsletter.

How can I find the URL for an iCal calendar in iCloud so I can make a link to it on a web page.

I have a single iCal calendar that I want people to access through my webpage. How can I find the URL so that they can view the calendar without having to subscribe to it. I converted to iCloud from .Mac and I can see that changes to this calendar are not showing up.

Mmmh.. i see... I don't know wether it is possible for people just check calendars without subscribing to them... I have been sharing some calendars in my website (maybe you can have a look at it in order to check wether it could be a possible solution for you)

Newbie Question... How do you make sure java can find all the imports

Hi everyone,
I am new to Java and so far I really like it. But I am having problems porting applets to my websites. How can you make sure that all the references can and will be found in the applet...
for example,
I import javax.media.ControllListener in a project I am using and it works great in the applet viewer but when I try to port this to my website I'm working on, java can't find it. I really would appreciate any help on this cause then I would have java power :) and will keep me from losing my hair :).

You can do this using a meta refresh but the problem is you have to add it to the html file for the page very time you publish changes.
A better way is to create a splash page and upload it to the server outside of the folder produced by iWeb. Example HERE.
The meta refresh is added to the head section of the html file...

The delay time in seconds is marked in blue and the URL to the redirect page is in red.
