Newbie : How to Convert PDF (500 MB) to FLA presentation ?

Tried importing PDF to a new flash file by File|Import|Import To Stage
recv an error "One or more not imported because there were problems reading them"
I'm a newbie any inputs on this appreciated. Thank you.

    Acrobat or any otehr tool does not have any automatic translation. You will have to convert your PDF to an editable formatz like a Word document and translate and clean it up there, then export it back as a PDF.

    To convert a PDF file to Word format, you can use Adobe ExportPDF.
    You cannot do this with Workspaces.

    As an extension to Fred's question, is it possible to later use the generated XML data and present it in a PDF template?  It used to be possible using the FDF format, but Adobe seem to have discontinued that. 
    My basic requirement is to send the form data to a third party in XML format and for them to be able to view it in human-readable format, preferably using a PDF as a template. 
    Is this possible?
