Newbie-Lost the bottom of my "Design" View

I used to have a bottom part of my screen where I could make position changes to any part of my page that I selected, IE: horizontal or vertical position by putting in different numerical values. Somehow, I can no longer view. Got a little frustrated because it was only showing half of it (strange) and after awhile I kept experimenting, and then lost it entirely. I am using Dreamweaver CS4. Any help would be appreciated.

Seems you may have closed down the properties panel.
Have you tried going to the Window Menu at the top and selecting Properties ?? that should bring it back into view :-)

Is it possible to have the same Split Code/Design view in CS5 that I had in CS3?

I am not a hard coder. However, like HTML, I could easily edit PHP in CS3 Dreamweaver's Split Code/Design view. It was more designer friendly, intuitive, etc. I could see/edit/move tables, placed graphics, text, etc. CS5 doen't allow me to see my PHP pages this way. Can this be fixed to have the same Split Code/Design view? I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.

To restore the cs3 style horizontal split of code and design views, go to the 'view' drop down menu and untick 'split vertically'.

but it has no way to change the font size in Design View.

By "a meeting notice", do you mean the Outlook meeting reminder? It's not possible to change the font in Calendar reminders. It's a system font.

Sounds like a Gmail archive icon. "When you archive a message, it moves to the All Mail folder. It does not delete it from the Gmail account. Archive replaces all delete options when using a Gmail account, including using the Trash icon while viewing a message and selecting Edit to manage multiple messages. Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac: Is there a way to display the file path in Design View?

Under Windows, DW's Design View shows you the path to the current file, right next to the document tab. I noticed the Mac version omits this handy feature. For those of us who work with lots of similarly named files distinguished only by folders, being able to quickly see what folder we're in is crucial. (see image below -- that's where Windows shows you the path, but is blank in Mac)
Is there something I'm missing, or some way to get that functioning? I know that I can see the path if I switch to Live View, but that is kludgy and breaks my workflow.

I use CoderPlus workspace & tabbed panels. For me, the file url is on the far right side. See screenshot.
If you click the "Page Icon" in upper right corner to tile, the URL shows on the left side.

See the box model in Design View

This is probably a simple question but I can't seem to figure this out or find out about it in the help.sometines when I'm working on a page element the margnins and padding are shown in the design view window. most often they are not visable. How can I choose to show the margin and paddign of elements in the Design view? I have the View>visua laids>box model selected. It only shows up seemingly randomly.
I suspect there is a keyboard combination or something I need to invoke so I can have control over shwoing the margin and padding when I want to see it.

Should show up if you click the border of a container. Then if you want to see that actual measurements hover over the border again.

DW CS5 - what determines the font specs for design view (without Live View on)?

Says it all above. The non-Live View font I get bears no relationship to the font spec'd (and displayed) for the page in Live View. I assume I have a preference set wrong but can't find it.Help appreciated. - Jim

You won't see any custom web fonts in Design View, if that's what you mean. Design View is not and never has been 100% reliable because it is not a browser. At best Design View is an approximation of what you can expect to see in some browsers.

Interface Builder cuts off CONTENT at the BOTTOM of my design

I have a UITabelView as my main interface. My UITabelView height is bigger than 460 pixels. I cannot edit any of my Table View Cells (or anything) below the bottom of the simulated APP at 460px I do not want to "programmatically add things in the interface." How do I "SCROLL" in interface builder?

Try dragging the surface of the view up, just as you would in the simulator (click with mouse cursor on view surface, hold mouse/trackpad button down while dragging up).
Correction: Scroll just as you would in any OS X window. i.e. With mouse cursor over top of view, two fingers up/down on the trackpad.

Convergence U2 scrolls down to 11pm at the bottom of Day/Week view

I just noticed this on some SCSu2 test servers that I was hoping to put into production that is different from u1 and previous. When I am looking at the Calendar in Day or Week view, the events are scrolled up so that 11pm is at the bottom of the browser window. For many reasonable size browser windows, this means the normal workday hours are not all visible in the browser window, you need to scroll up to see them. Worse yet, every time you change the day, the view, add a calendar to the view etc, it jumps back down to 11pm at the bottom.
Did I screw something up, or can someone confirm this? It doesn't seem like this behavior would be desirable and thus be an option I don't think. If it works fine for someone else I can try to install a similar system and narrow down the cause. I see this with 137631-07 and with -08. Might it be possible to get an older copy of Convergence wedged into a U2 install to avoid this if I had to? There is at least one minor fix in -07 that I would like to provide for users. We are using -04 on the working server with U1. Thanks.

You could in theory remove the -07 patch on a Solaris system (returning to the base Convergence package install) and apply an older Convergence patch (-04) however I wouldn't recommend it.
There is at least one minor fix in -07 that I would like to provide for users. We are using -04 on the working server with U1. I suggest you log a Support request to get the bug/RFE I mentioned above addressed.

How to hide the lightbox container in design view?

So I have just successfully inserted a lightbox into the page that I'm designing. It looks good and works well. The only problem now is the lightbox is covering up all of my other content.
How do I hide the thing so that I can go about designing the rest of the page?

When you select the lightbox, you'll see a little blue dot next to the lightbox with a white triangle inside. Click on that blue dot to open the on-object UI to see a bunch of configuration options. One of the options at the bottom will say "Show lightbox parts while editing". You can uncheck this option to hide the big lightbox so you can get to the other items on your page.

I have 'lost' the bottom of my reading pane i.e. it appears to be behind the footer of my page; how do I change this please?

I use 'personas' and have not had problems with these before. Thinking this might be the problem I changed personas, but it makes no difference. I can see almost a shadow of what is behind the footer, but it's really frustrating when using such as skype or facebook as the text box is sitting behind the footer at the bottom of my reading pane.

After switching to Mozilla 4, I lost the line which has "file, view, bookmarks, etc. I always have to press alt to get it to appear. How can I make it permanent. I use google as my home page.

I only see "PHP" icons in Design View, not the executed code

I have setup a new database installation and tested it - no problem. I can open my webpage in Firefox, and the php code executes properly. When I imported this site into Dreamweaver, I am unable to see the results of any executed PHP code, just "PHP" icons.
Is it possible to view the results of the executed PHP code in Dreamweaver. I'm not talking about complicated PHP code, just a bunch of 'echo' statements really.

In answer to your question, PHP is a server-side language that needs to be parsed (executed) through a web server capable of handling PHP code. In order to see the output of the PHP code, you need to set up a testing server. Instructions on how to do so can be found in this article in the Dreamweaver Developer Centre. Once you have set up a testing server, you can see the output of the PHP code in Design view by activating Live View (in Dreamweaver CS4) or Live Data view in earlier versions of Dreamweaver.

Does the page show correctly in a browser?
Dreamweaver design view is not very reliable at renedering designs exactly the way you want them to look, especailly if you use more of the complex and up-to-date css, now available. Dreamweaver is always playing catch-up in that area.
