Newbie Ned to Know wher to find JavaServer WDK

Hey, guys I recently started the Java tutorial and have run accross something that des not make much sense to me at this point. There is an "ExampServlet" app that I downloaded to study from this website recently. It requires me to have the 'JAVASERVER WEB DEVELOPMENT KIT' installed on my machine. My current installed software includes the folloing: Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.4SDK; Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2; Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_04; and Java 2 SDK, SE v1.4.2. I followed the links to the download and retrieved the file:servlet-2_4-fr-spec-doc.zip. These files appear to be just HTML files outlining the class useage oof JAvax.* packages. I did some file snooping and found almost identical files already installed on my system.
My question is shouldn't I alread have some compiled libraries that contain this information in a compiler useable form? I ask this because when I issue the folloing command: javac Exam[Servlet.java, I get the following example error message: ExampServlet.java:2: package javax.servlet does not exist, import javax.servlet.*;!!??
Where should my classpath point to in order to resolve these types of errors?
Thanks in advance . . . . Thanks javajugs , for your response. You are losing me on this project path thing. When I installed j2ee I added the following to my environment win-xp variable. D:\Sun\AppServer\bin and all of it's variants. I have done the same for j2sdk1_4_2 as well. This specific demo ExampServlet.java example keeps failing on: ExampServlet.java:2: package javax.servlet does not exist - import javax.servlet.*;!!! The -d option that you speak of is used to specify where to place generated class files according to java help documentation. My big question is where does this "import javax.servlet.*" request expect to find this object file? I think I understand for example where javac might find the following pieces of info: import java.applet.Applet; and java.awt.Graphics; But I am missing the point on the javax.servlet.* request Thanks again . . . . .Tom J.

It's in your Keychain on the computer you usually use to connect to your network - the "kind" will be "AirPort Network Password".
Your Keychain can be opened by using the Keychain Access program. It is in your Utilities Folder.
Open Keychain Access, and type airport in the search field. You will see a number of entries. Choose the one with the name of your wireless network, open it, and check the box next to "show password". Before it reveals itself you will be asked for your login password - the one you use to log in to your MacBook.
The network password will appear in the box.
    Quit Keychain Access.

  • Hey guys, do you know where to find the Equalizer in the new updated iTunes?

Hey guys, do you know where to find the Equalizer in the new updated iTunes? THANKS

    Hi
When I got this new PC I did a complete audit. I found that this was kenotify.exe at startup.
Different info I found on the internet say it is essential to the functioning of FN.
I also noticed that when I press the FN apuie it generates no code. I have a small java script code returns me all the keys pressed on the keyboard.
I am surprised that the FN will work for you while you do not have this executable.

I have uploaded an old itunes library by mistake - any way that I can go back to my previous library.  Unable to do a system restore and I don't know where to find an up to date music/playlist file.  I was originally trying to recover a playlist that vanished after I had updated one of the ipads, did an online search, followed the instructions only to discover that I had loaded an itunes library from 2 years ago.  Stupidly I thought that it had updated itself and didn't realise I had to do it.  Any he

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash. Hopefully you have a more recent library file that you can restore.

my iphone has been water damaged and in the mean time ive gone back to using my old phone. But i need to get all the contacts from my iphone i had synced to my laptop, but i don't know where to find them and im not sure if ive backed them up to anything!

If your contacts are synced to your computer then they are in the supported app you are syncing with.
When you set up syncing of contacts on your device, which application did you select?

  • HT2688 I just want to know where to find the shared libraries on the new iTunes. These articles are a million years old, and are of no help.

I just want to know where to find my shared libraries on the stupid new iTunes. The layout was fine before, but when they changed it, I can't seem to find them. The articles on Apple are a million years old, before the latest iTunes update, so they are no help. Thanks.

It's only 7 months old and it is still correct.

  • Hi, how do I manage storage? Disk Utility says "other" is taking up most of my storage but I don't know where to find "other".  Please help!

Hi, how do I manage storage? Disk Utility says “other” is taking up most of my storage but I don’t know where to find “other".  Please help!

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper 2>&-
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective 2>&-
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Satellite A500 - Do you know where to find KeNotify.exe?

    Hello,
    Following a viral infection + repair my Toshiba A500 (W 7) I lost KeNotify.exe.
This executable is part of the Toshiba utilities that manage specific functions activated by pressing the FN.
I reinstalled all modules assigns a link with "Flash Cards", "Value Added Package", etc ...
But I can not find KeNotify.exe.
    Originally it was installed under C: \ Program Files (x86) \ TOSHIBA \ Utilities \ KeNotify.exe
So it was a 32bit executable ...!? I'm in Seven 64bit Premium and all utilities are reloaded from the library W7-64 Support from Toshiba.
I tried without success in other modules 32 or 64 bits if this executable was there.
Do you know where to find KeNotify.exe?

  • I need to know where to find imessage

I need to know where to find imessage

You are using OS X Lion, and iMessage requires OS X Mountain Lion, so you have to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First, see if your computer is compatible > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs Then, open App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. While Mountain Lion is downloading, make a backup of your data with Time Machine and/or Carbon Copy Cloner.
When the download finishes, the OS X Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow the steps to upgrade OS X. After upgrading, you will see that iChat has been replaced with Messages, so open it and you will be able to use iMessage on the Mac

    Hi cheryle36779349,
The free trial that we offer is for Acrobat (we don't offer trials of the online services). So, the first thing you need to do is download Acrobat from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. When you launch it the first time after installing it, you should be prompted to accept the end-user license agreement.
Then, so convert PDF files to Word, choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
