Newbie question - Parallax scrolling a logo to the right

Hi there,
I am trying to design my new site using Muse.
I would like my logo to appear center, top of browser but as the user scrolls down the page I would like the logo to move out of the way to the top right of the browser.
What I have done is create a retangle the size of the logo and placed center but the scrolling happens within the retangle.
Can someone direct me on how to do this?

It seems you have been playing around with the Scroll Effects available for the Fill option.
Try using the Scroll Effects panel on the right to work with the object instead. You may need to disable the Fill scroll effects first.

There are two Office versions: Office for Windows, and Office for Mac.
I suspect that you have downloaded Office for Windows, and you can use it if you install Windows, but a cheaper and easiest way to use Office is to use Office for Mac, so you won't have to install Windows. See > http://www.microsoft.com/mac

Shifting the Company Logo to the right hand side?

Hi Guys,
There is a requirement to put the Logo of the Company in the header on the Right Hand Side of the Self Service Page. The customer has already modified all the buttons.links etc.The last requirement was to shift the Company Logo to the right hand side.
Also there is a requirement to put the company on the Login Page.
Please suggest a suitable way to achieve this.

Hi Hem,
There is no standard functionality to move the company logo to right hand side.
But you can do a workaround,
Take a backup of your $COMMON_TOP/html/OA.jsp
add the following code

But you can keep in $OA_MEDIA also, but you give the corresponding path.
goto your $COMMON_TOP/_pages/_oa__html/
remove the cache for OA.jsp, using
rm OA.
YourCompanyLogo.bmp should be an image which will have your company log in the right hand side.
And you can place a empty image for the standard image.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

How do I get the scroll bar back to the right side of the screen and how do I get the mouse scroll wheel to work again?

Yesterday the scroll bar on Firefox was moved from the right to the left of the screen and the webpages do not scroll when using the mouse scroll wheel.

Reset the pref <b>layout.scrollbar.side</b> to '0' or set to '2' to place the scroll bar at the default right side.

Troubleshooting: Scroll bar goes to the right in LR2.3

Not sure why this happens, but every so often - maybe once every couple days, I will be working in either the Library or Develop module and for no apparent reason, the scrollbar for the bottom filmstrip just starts moving on its own accord to the right until it gets to the end of the filmstrip. It keeps going to the right unless I close the program and start it back up again and then everything is fine again.

Another Newbie Question, (Sigh) G5 how to open the Dvd Drive, Without an os

Hi all as some of you will know!
I'm pretty new to PM, and osx. Not sure what keyboard buttons to press when first booting up my system,
Ok so heres the Deal bought a 2.0ghz and 2.5ghz powermac G5's from my work, No hard Drives so ive used a couple of 1Tb sata drives out of a couple of old pc's i have knocking about,
1. with no opearating system on the drives how do i get the cd tray to open is their a button or key I press at startup.
2. powered the 2.5 up and got this info (not sure what keys i hit to get this)

Then some other blurb about shutdown and macboot etc I typed shutdown? I take it that this is it's birthday date!

OK, one of the easiest ways and probably, in a sense, the best way if you are going to install OS fresh, is to boot into Open Firmware (which you actually did as described in your post). You can do this intentionally by holding down the cmd-option-O-F key combination until you get to the open firmware white screen.
Then, type the following command:
eject cd <enter>
which will cause the optical drive tray to come out. Drop the install disc into the tray. Then type
eject cd <enter>
which will cause the tray to close.
Then, type the next three commands to initialize NVRAM and reboot the computer.
reset-nvram <enter>
set-defaults <enter>
reset-all <enter>
Then, as it does the reboot, hold down the 'C' key which will cause the machine to try to boot from the install disc.

JComboBox scrolls its text to the right

Hi,
I have a JComboBox with a limited size, say 5 characters. However, some of the selectable items have more than 5 characters. For example, take "01234abcde".
If a user selects this item, I would like to see "01234" and the remaining text hidden. However, the combo box scrolls the text to the left and displays "abcde". Any ideas, how I change this behaviout?

The 'send reset info' only shows it you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account - if it's not showing then I assume that you don't have one, and you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions. Some questions about writing rc.d scripts the right way

I'm setting up an environment and have a number of server daemons that I would like to automate the startup of, so I'd like to write some rc.d scripts for them. Now, I could just go ahead and roll my own but I thought I should try to learn the correct way of doing this.
I have already read the wiki page (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wr … .d_scripts) and have used the example there as a starting point, I have a working script that starts a daemon. However I have some questions...
How do I handle the case where the daemon's name differs from the running process? Once case I have is to start up a web server for ruby documentation. The process I need to start is "gem server" but what is listed in ps is "ruby ... gem server". Starting works just fine, but when trying to stop it the rc.d script uses "pidof gem" to locate the daemon which fails because there is no such process (it's ruby) so stopping the daemon fails.
My second query is how to handle multiple daemons that differ only in their arguments. I don't think the rc.d script can handle this. I would like to run several of these "gem servers" for different trees of development.
I may be better off in this case just writing my own thing to do it.
Any help and advice appreciated...

Yeah, look elsewhere.

It's in a subdirectory, so that the user that BIND runs at, has permission to create and remove the pidfile from that directory.
One thing to bear in mind, when stopping a daemon, is that it might not stop immediately. E.g. lighttpd, when asked to do an orderly shutdown with:
kill -TERM $(pidof -s /usr/sbin/lighttpd) 2>/dev/null
Cannot be immediately checked in the initscript. My erm, workaround for that is to just assume that it got the message

Question about product variable - is BC the right choice for me?

I have a criteria that must be met for my ecommerce solution for a new business. The customer has a product that has a variable length, and would like the price to reflect the options that are offered. For example: the produced panels are 30" wide, but the customer can choose the length of each panel. Another option may be sq. ft. for material...
How can I achieve this with Business Catalyst? Is there an easy way?

Look into Product Attributes.
You can preset various sizes and change the price based on the size. See this KB Article.
I would recommend creating a trial site, use a template, then try Product Attributes and see if it does all of what you need.
If you believe it would work then you can go from there.

My Page is flashing with parallax scrolling....

I am having an issue that my page "flashes" when using parallax scrolling.

it occurs at the bottome section of the page as you scroll down.
Any thoughts as to the cuase or remedy for this would be much appreciated!
As a side note I am also trying to resolve another dilemma where in the same section, I am trying to hide the type that comes in from the right for a portion of the page. You will see it come in over the browser area, then under other elements (which I want). I tried to place a rectangle over that area and tie it to the edge of the browser to have it go "full width" but that is not working.

If you want to obscure the text before it reaches the page, I think you'll need to draw an opaque object on top and set the scroll motion settings for that object so it stays in the position where it needs to be to obscure the text as the text is sliding across.

Parallax Scrolling from top view (bird view)/ resizing and blank spots

I was thinking this was going to be easy but some problems occurred
Currently Im trying to make a parallax scrolling road while seeing it from above, but there are some issues going on.
the 1st one is that somehow after the second image is gone out of the stage , there are a few blan pixels that are not filled .... and it seems that the speed of the moving is == to the pixels that aren't filled up.
And i think , just asume that if i test this on like different screen sizes - lets say this is for a phone - ill get some issues with the scaleX and Y and it will get quite ugly and cubic.
I did surch for an example or a tutorial but there are only in a X direction like if you see the car from a side view like this

is there a way to do this only with only as3 code and not by this way :
if the road high graphics are 400 pixels and the stage has 400 height
1.creating the original _road and setting it`s Y to 0

Parallax scrolling for different screens

Hi there...
Does anybody know how to deal with different screen sizes and parallax scrolling?
It know the 100% width option so that is not the issue.....the issue is the height!!
Laptop versus desktop etc..
So what is the best height to use so it will fit all screen sizes?

I faced the same problem with the overflow controller.
Then depending on the number of records that I am showing in the table I have adjusted the size of the overflow controller in pixels.
my code looks some thing like this.
lv_oflc_height = 53 + ( lv_actual_visible_rows * 21 ).
if the filter is on 20 more pixels added to the height.

                            height = "<%= lv_oflc_height %>px"

and this worked for some standard resolutions with out big difference.

As Syrax12 pointed out, Parallax Scrolling has moved from the Effects panel to the Scroll Effects panel. Some of the videos from June 2013 refer to the old location under the Effects panel.
