Newbie seeking some help

Hi there
I hope someone can help me.
I am pretty new at building website and have recently upload
the work that I have done however:
- My site only appears when I type the url in the search bar
but not when some clicks on the link, neither does it appear on
google or yahoo, although I have created Meta tags and have
registered.
The URL for the site (freespace.virgin.net/andy.fernie) will
get changed to a different one in the next few days as this does
not reflect the site at all, it was only ever meant to be
temporary, could this be the reason??
- The other problem that I am having with it is alignement,
for some reason or another whenever i add text, pictures etc the
main title heading / pictures shifts to the right..what would cause
this?

Your site is not likely to appear in google unless you submit
it to its
search engine or submit it to the open directory. Even then
it most
probably won't appear for several weeks, even months, if at
all.
Also getting ranked in a search engine requires good
descriptive
searchable content on your page, plus incoming links from
other sources
such as directories. So get posting all over the web,
basically anywhere
you can add a link to your site.
Use heading tags for you headings <h1>main page
heading</h1> <h2>Sub
Headings</h2>. A search engine spider will treat
anything in <h> tags as
more important so make sure its descriptive of the page.
Also make sure your actual written content addresses what it
is you
actually do and don't be afraid to repeat 'keywords' a few
times on the
page.

Nope. Its just not had nearly enough time to be found by a
spider and
searched. However if you are intending to move the site to a
more
'dedicated' named server such as medicalherbalist.com you
don't really
want it to be found on the server its on now.
Choose a domain name that reflects what you do, not
nathaliefournier.com
but herbalmedicine.com or herbalheath.com (probably gone) but
you'll
have to get creative to find a suitable name.

That's an issue with a very fragile page structure. You have
tried to
constrcution the main super-structure of you page using just
one table
and splitting and merging cells. NEVER a good choice when it
comes to
construction.
I see you are already using spacer gifs to prop some cells
open. Use it
to prop open the other cells to create a slightly more
inflexible stucture.

no. i don't think you have a stage in flash builder that you can draw on and i don't think you have timeline frames.
Finally .... how many computers does a single licenses allow you to install on?
i've never tried to install on more than 1 so i don't know that.

Newbie needs some help

Hi -
What I have is some artwork from a customer in a PDF format. I am taking that artwork, converting it to a JPEG, bringing it into my CAD software (solidworks/photoworks) as a decal, and overlaying the artwork onto the finished design. My problem is the imported artwork has a "white background" for lack of a better term, behind the colors. This background essentially hides all the stuff directly behind the decal.
The artwork has the outline of the part it is to be printed on, which I would also like to remove. In illustrator, the artwork and outline of the part come into the software as a single object (I hope that is the correct terminology)
Is there a way to remove the white background and the outline and have just the artwork left (colors) and the export to a JPEG? I'd post the artwork but I'm not sure my customer would approve even though its a released product.

You might be able to bring a pdf into your CAD program and AI also
exports to dwg and dxf.
Can you take a screen shot of the file and post it here by using the
camera icon in the text input form when posting a response here?
The white background may not actually be there but if there is a shape
it can be selected the same as you would in A CAD program
with a selection tool.
The selection tool is a black arrow and the direct selection tool is
the white arrow it is used to select a single path that might be part
of a group of paths
most people use this more often then the black arrow.
You can also go tot he layers panel and expand the layer even if
everything is collected on one layer and click at the right side of
each path to select the path you look at the art on the canvas to see
which
path is selected it will be highlighted showing the path. when you
have the one you want to delete you hit delete or back key on the
keyboard. Then either save the file as a pdf or export as dwg dxf
ortiff or png or jprg or what you think looks best when you bring it
back into your program.

Spry Newbie needs some help

It is the little things in life I was always told and all I
am trying to do is to pretty much duplicate the form validation
demo. However I am not even sure where to begin. I have created
many forms and have had them submit and returned in an emial
successfully but I am not quite sure how the Spry widgets work or
how to apply them to an existing form or even a new one for that
matter.
Does the page have to be dynamic in order to use the Spry
validation widget? Hopefully iy can be used on a static page. Are
there any tutorials out there for creating a form in DW CS3 using
the Spry validation widget?

Hi,
First of all, the Spry widgets works on static pages, so you
don't necessary need to have a dynamic page.
It is not to hard to make the demo from site, and I'll
explain you the basic steps you should do to have these widgets
working on your page. The css part, you can customize as you wish,
the demo from site is just a customization.
As I saw, you use Dreamweaver for creating this demo, so I'll
give you the explanations for how to do it on DW.
In a html page, add a form. Inside form add: a Spry Textfiled
validation input (from the Spry tag), a Spry Select input and a
Spry Textarea input.
If you go in design view and select an widget, a blue border
will appear and on the Property Inspector will appear all the
properties you need to customize.
To see exactly what does every property, please check the
Dreamweaver help.
This is the start to create you own form containing Spry
widgets.

What I understood is that after parsing the XML file, the class clears all variables... What I'm doing wrong?
N.B. Previewing this message I see that there's something wrong displayng the index of "ch" in the for cicles in the characters() method, I wrote them right, is just a display bug!

the variables are set in this new class, not in the current one!!!
hence, the address is there: handler.dbAddress !!!

I am experiencing a large number of bugs, and I am seeking some help with fixing one or more of them; here is the list I have created.

- Reoccurring iOS crashes/reboots/restarts, under to specific circumstances:
• Sliding down notification center
• Sliding up control center
• Tapping the top area of the screen where the status bar would be, within full-screen applications that don't show the status bar.
• Tapping the bottom area of the screen where one would slide up to activate the control center, within full-screen applications that don't show the status bar.
• Configuring various different iOS UI/iOS App/3rd party App settings, from within the Settings App.
• Configuring various different iOS UI/iOS settings, from within the Control Center.
- Specific iOS App bugs:
• iWork apps freezing/lagging, even when no other applications are open and/or backgrounded.
• App Store not showing reviews properly (i.e., either: not showing all reviews, not show any reviews, and/or showing reviews in an incorrect order; I've confirmed these issues by checking app review details online, for an array of different apps, doing so both on multiple iPhone models, and on desktop computers. The apps show their reviews online on said mentioned platforms, but a large portion of them aren't showing any/all reviews properly within the App Store specifically.
• Reoccurring Siri-created reminders' specified reminder details are deleted, after having said reminder(s) created by Siri, when attempting to manually reconfigure one or more of said reminders' options.
- Specific iOS UI bugs:
• Notification Center "Today" section, Reminders' scheduled dates showing either black or white, intermittently.

Ad a new, temporary column (or one you can hide when not using). Let's say the current Prices are in column C and the new column is D.
you can inflate the prices in column C by 5% by entering the formula in the first cell of column D as:
=C2*105%

to fill down, select D2, then copy, then select the D3 thru the end of the column, then paste. Now select C2 thru the end of column C, now paste over the existing values using the menu item "Edit > Paste Values"
you can now hide column D until you need to use it again.

Newbie needs some simple help on triggers

Hi there. I need to create a trigger and am very new to this language and would love some help.
I have tables STUDENT, BOOKS, BORROWING.
When a student borrows a book, a composite entry is created in the BORROWING table. In the Books table, their is an attribute 'Borrowed' with a Y or N.
When a new record with the same Title as a book is created in borrowing, the value of 'borrowed' needs to be set to Y. So far I have the following, but forgot that I need to insert a WHERE clause so that it doesnt update every book, but only the book that causes the trigger.
I am having trouble with this- how would i go about doing this? Any help appreacited...

Your post has quite little details, but as far as I understand, you want to add 4 resources on a task, each resource costing 500$ a day. Since it is not mentionned if it is generic resources (skill or role) or named resources, I'll assume that it is generic
resources. Based on this understanding, here is a proposal:
Go to the resource sheet,
Create a work generic resource ("type" field set to "work", "generic" field to "yes"), typing in the resource name field the skill name,
In the max unit field, enter 400% for 4 resources (for just 4 if your Project 2010 is configured to display units in decimals),
Since the rate is an hourly rate, make the calculation : 500$ per day / 8 hours a day = 62,5$ per hour,
Go back to the Gantt Chart, split the window (click "detail" in the view tab of the ribbon),
Select your task and assign the newly created resource with a given % units.

PL SQL Question - Need some help

I would like to write a loop in PLSQL to run a 225 different queries on a table.
That is i have 225 stop worded queries to run, and would like to write a procedure that could automate this, when it has run the query i would also like for it to output the results into a table (e.g. Results1). The queries are numbered 1 to 225.
I have tried to write some code that gives an idea of what i would like to do, but as i have only been using PLSQL for 1 week i am still a newbie. Any help would be much appreciated!!

I have been syncing calendar and contacts on my iPhone 5 and Outlook 2007 using iCloud 2.1.3 (my PC is running Vista). All was well until the events I entered on the phone were showing up in Outlook, but not the other way around. I’ve tried the usual recommended steps: deselecting calendar and contacts in the iCloud control panel and then re-selecting, signing out of the panel and back in, and repairing the Outlook installation in control panel. I even uninstalled iCloud on the PC and downloaded it again (same version).
The furthest I’ve gotten is step 2 (and once, step 3) of 7 while performing “Outlook Setup For iCloud.” At that point I get, “Your setup couldn’t be started because of an unexpected error.” After the first attempt at all this, all my calendar events disappeared from Outlook, although they are still in iCloud calendar and on my phone.
Sound familiar? Any ideas on how to solve this iCloud/Outlook issue? Thanks much in advance!

can some help with CR2 files ,I can`t see CR2 files in adobe bridge when I open Adobe Photoshop cs5- help- about plugins- no camera raw plugins. When i go Edit- preference and click on camera raw shows message that Adobe camera raw plugin cannot be found

That's strage. Seems that the Camera Raw.8bi file has been moved to different location or has gone corrupt. By any chance did you try to move the camera raw plugin to a custom location?
Go To "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats" and look for Camera Raw.8bi file.
If you have that file there, try to download the updated camera raw plugin from the below location.

In case you ae not able to locate the Camera Raw.8bi file on the above location, then i think you need to re-install PS CS5.

Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.

That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

This worked for me... A little time consuming but once you get rolling it goes GREAT... Thanks....
I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

What's the origin of this external drive? It sounds very much like it's a Windows-formatted (NTFS) drive which Macs can't write to. If you can, copy the files off the drive, reformat it as Mac format (using Disk Utility) and copy the files back. If you need to continue writing to it from a Windows PC, you should format it ExFAT in Disk Utility.

Try moving the existing backup file to a safe location so that iTunes has to create an entire new file. The backup file is located here. You can delete that backup once you get a successfull backup.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
