Newbie Slide Show Question - Flash 8

This is my first Flash slide show, and I am just lost. Here
it is:
https://michael-von-krenner.com/Slideshow/slideshow.fla
Obviously I am missing a few things to make this happen like
it
should, and I can't figure out what I've done wrong. Here are
my issues:
1. Why won't it automatically go from slide to slide? (There
are
nine and you can go from one to the other with the arrow keys
just fine.)
2. Why won't it go back to the first slide when it's done,
which is
what I specified using the Behavior panel?
3. These aren't that important for this slide show, but why
won't the
"Next" and "Previous" buttons stay on the screen?
If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it.

  • Creating slide shows in flash

    I am trying to teach myself to create slide shows in Flash.  I have Flash CS4 Professional.  I found a tutorial to do this for CS3, Action Script 2.0, here:
    http://previews.learnflash.com/previews/flash/basicslideshow.html
    It seems like a great tutorial.  However, as I am following it, I can't make my slide show work as the tutorial demonstrates.  Specificall, after creating the buttons as shown, my slide show will not stop at the next frame, but rapidly runs through all the slides.
    I have worked with the tutorial for several days and can not get it to work for me. I get the below error messages when I follow the turorial.
    This is what the tutorial says to do, and as best as I can tell, I am doing just that:
    This is what part of my screen looks like:
    I would greatly appreciate any pointers, perhaps to a more current tutorial.
    Many thanks!
    christian

    The first image you show is probably the most telling, especially if the second image you show is taken from the tutorial and is not a screenshot of what you've done.  Based on the error messages, you are using parentheses where you should be using curly braces.
    next_btn.onRelease = function(){
         nextFrame();
    Also, just for the sake of it, check your Flash Publish Settings and make sure you have AS2 selected for the Actionscript version.

  • How to create a slide show using Flash and some pictures

    I looked at many books but I can't find how I can make a slide show using flash. Can anyone give me some idea how I might go with this?

    What you should do is search Google for things like "Flash slideshow tutorial" or if you know what version of actionscript you want to use, try using that in place of "Flash" in the search terms.

  • How do I create image pushing slide show in Flash?

    Hi. I am wondering if anybody can tell me how to create a picture PUSH. I have three images that I wish to work with. By pushing I mean having an image come in from the left (or right) and place itself on top of the other (or pushing the other out of view). Like a slide show of three images scrolling along but one stops for a brief period before the other image comes into view.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

    As Pat mentioned, this question might be best suited for the Flash Professional forum, I just happen to have the link handy
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Export slide show to flash drive?

    Hello, and thanks in advance for any help you can give us. My wife and I are new to computers so this is probably a simple question with an obvious solution. She has composed a slide show set to music and we would like to download it to a flash drive for use in a digital photo frame. How do we export to the flash drive?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Use the File->Export->Slideshow menu route and select the size that best fits the digital frame's dimensions:
    Click to view full size
    Save the QT file to a folder on the Desktop, and copy the folder to the flash drive. Don't put the file directly on the flash drive as the format used prefers files in a folder and not the root directory. The same goes for photos. The flash drives limit the number of files in the root directory so it's best to put all photos and movies in a folder.

  • Slide Show questions

    First Question:
    I have images I'd like to add to a slide show that are smaller than my display.
    When I start my slide show they are stretched to fit, and the quality diminishes considerably. Is there a way to keep the pixel ratio stable so that they don't automatically fit the monitor size?
    Second Question:
    Is there a way to display a slide show while storing my photos on a separate HD or CD? In other words, everytime I try to create a slide show in iPhotos it copies the images onto my HD. Can I prevent that, and run the slides from the original location?
    1.67 Ghz PowerPC G4 (Powerbook)   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Paul,
    There's actually a feature in Tiger, outside of iPhoto, that can solve both of those problems.
    I'll start with your second question:
    If you have a CD, or second HD with a bunch of photos, simply select the images in the Finder and right-click (control-click) on them. In the resulting contextual menu, you'll see "Slideshow". It's not as full featured as iPhoto (no music or timing tools), but it does a really solid job. Just like in an iPhoto slideshow, when you move the mouse, it will display an overlay control at the bottom of the screen- this is where your first question can be answered.
    One of the buttons is "Actual Size", which will shrink or expand the image accordingly.
    http://www.dv-graphics.com/temp/actsize.jpg
    So, if you have a small image, it will bring it back down to the original resolution. Why this and iPhoto don't share the same overlay controls is beyond me.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can I make a non-flash slide show using Flash, with JPEGs not GIFs?

    Since Flash .swf is not supported in iOS. I wanted to make a simple photo slide show with high quality JPEGs. How can I do this?

    Look to using jQuery instead of Flash.  There are a variety of redy-made solutions available, just search Google or visit the Dreamweaver forum and ask there.

  • XML slide show in Flash

    I have created created a Slideshow of Images using XML and
    Flash AS2.
    I have code on a particular keyframe that loads the show once
    the viewer reaches that keyframe.
    My issue is:
    Every frame after that particular keyframe the Slideshow
    loads. Is the a way to hide/ remove this from the subsequent
    keyframes?
    Cheers-
    Graeme

    you want to remove the slide show from the stage? if so, use
    removeMovieClip() to remove the target movieclips image_mc.
    p.s. you should not use numbers to name (or start the name of
    objects in flash).

  • Slide Show question

    Hi
    I intend to buy FCP 5 to make multimedia presentations including a lot of slide shows and a bit of video.
    One objective is to create a very hi-res movie (1600 x 1200 px) for projection from hard drive or dvd-computer. The other products are normal dvd to play on normal & hd tv.
    My concerns are that I cannot test the product before buying and I am not sure FCP is the best choice to do the job.
    My special requirements are :
    - movie on 1600 x 1200 px screen / multimedia projector (projected on up to 24 sq m screen)
    - slide shows with perfectly smooth transition effects
    - pan across huge panorama (> 10000 px wide)
    - zoom in/out 6000 x 4000 px image to detail in sub-window
    - easy way to add images without re-calculating whole movie
    - total duration of presentation 45 min (may-be linking separate movies to avoid huge file size of final movie)
    - digital video in subwindow of max size of video
    Is FCP the best choice and what else do I need to know?
    Paul

    This is the Final Express forum. Try on FCP, but I believe your image sizes will exceed the resolution capabilities of FCP.

  • Slide show in Flash

    Hi there,
    I just created simple slideshow using Flash and it s working well, but i woudl like to put little tricky. Before it display next images, current it will
    slowly disappear in to whithe color, and then show next image. I m not sure how to do it.
    Ant hint?
    Thanks

    You can also look into using actionscript tweens for fading things in and out.  Flash has a built-in Tween class and there are third party tweening engines such as TweenLite as well.
    Since you mention wanting to fade to white, if your background for the images is not currently white, then instead of fading the images, you could have a whilte movieclip covering the images that you fade in and out instead of the images.

  • Picture Slider Show Question

    I'm doing a project for someone and they asked me to make a photo gallery that has two arrows on both sides which they user can click to scroll from previous to next but has the ability to click on the photo and make it larger.

  • Flash Website "Slide-Show" like Navigation

    Hey guys,
       I am designing a website and for the first time I will be trying to implement Flash as a means for navigating the website. I have worked with flash before, but only for animation.
    I am trying to make a 'Slide-Show' like flash object that flips through slides at a predetermined speed and when a slide is clicked on it takes you to a new page. Similar to the big flash object in the middle of this page: http://www.foursquare.org/
    Can someone point me to a turorial or point me in the right direction for this, I tried googling it, but i dont know the proper terms for this. Thanks!
    -Christian

    As far as I can tell, there is no Flash content on that page--most likely some jQuery design.  So you could consider pursuing whatever approach they used for that.  Though you could do whatever section you think is Flash as a Flash design.  To get links to other pages you need to use actionscript, which means you need to decide which version you plan to use (AS2 or AS3).  What you could do is create your slideshow images as movieclips and assign linking code to each one.

  • Multiple slide show problems

    OK. Im really stuck here.
    I have made a slide show in Flash 8 using actionscript 2. Ive
    managed to succeed to a point. But I will tell you prblems and
    hopefully they can be solved here as Ive found no where on web that
    can.
    Problem1: I have a slide show with 5 slides all in the parent
    of 'presentation'. I have input actionscipt code to allow the
    current slide to go to the next slide at the end of the timeline. I
    then linked the last slide with the first slide. Why oh why does
    this freeze on it 2nd loop through the slides on the 3rd slide. I
    just dont get it!! It plays once then freezes on the 3rd
    slide?!?!?!?!?
    Problem2: I have put this actionscipt code against a button,
    why doesnt it work when it does for other people?
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://www.mysite","_self");
    If anyone can help please do.

    lol use a valid url...good one...not that much of a noob.
    OK so here is code:
    The link code goes as follows: (these links dont work! Why?),
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://www.mysite","_self");
    The next slide code goes as follows:
    stop();
    function goNext(){
    currentSlide.gotoNextSlide();
    clearInterval(timer);
    var timer = setInterval(goNext, 500);
    The go to first slide goes as follows:
    stop();
    function goNext(){
    _root.presentation.gotoSlide(_root.presentation.slide1);
    clearInterval(timer);
    var timer = setInterval(goNext, 500);
    As I say it all works until 2nd loop and then stops on 3rd
    slide....?
