Newbie to Mainstage: Help on advice on a controller

Hey all,
I am a sax player and want to take MS and my MB onstage. While a have a E-mu KB controller to use, it seems to me it would be easier for a FOOT controller once all my patches ect are set up.
I will get the Ap. Duet as the interface, but can anyone chime in on a suggested Foot Controller? I don't need a massive one, just a few switches. Also, how can I use a FC beyond just patch changes?

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. But you'll still need the password.
Once you have the computer authorized to use the account she could change the password again to stop you buying apps on her card (assuming it's not on yours!). It would lock you out of upgrading them too but they should work unless she uses the deathorize all feature.
It depends on how amicable the split is...

Mac Mini Core 2 Duo died and now won't boot - any help or advice appreciated...

I have a core 2 duo Mac Mini (possibly a 2008 model?) which has been retro-fitted with a superdrive at some point in its life and was running Lion.
It used to be left running 24/7, but one day I returned to find it powered down and it will not boot up at all now. Applying power and then pressing the power button results in the cpu fan starting, and the HD spinning up - the white power indicator lights steady, but other than that there is no sign of life - no noises, beeps, no display, nothing.
I'm not averse to getting the lid off (I've opened up a fair few mini's before ) so any suggestions as to what my next step should be?
As an aside, the Intel minis have a small push button on the logic board, about half-way down the right hand side - what is this for?

I have tried the SMC reset (which, unless I have misunderstood occurs as a result of removing all power for a while then reconnecting the psu and turning on as normal after a few seconds delay) with no luck.
The PRAM reset is a bit of a problem, though, as I do not appear to have any keyboard function - I'm using an aluminium Apple keyboard and mighty mouse (both are the wired variety, plugged into separate USB ports), but the 'boot' process doesn't appear to get far enough to enable operationof the keyboard (shift lock light doesn't light if appropriate key pressed), so I can't give it the 4-finger death grip at power up. The mouse illuminates, and I've tried all 4 USB ports, BTW...
I forgot to add to the previous post that there is 2GB RAM fitted, and both Bluetooth and Airport.

Help - need advice on how to do this

I have a form where a part number, qty received, and serial
number are entered, and I generate a request number.
(other information is entered as well, such as name, address,
etc.) So it is one record per request number, easily done and no
problems.
Now I am told that for each request number, there could be
multple part numbers and each part number may or may not have a
serial number.
I was thinking of splitting up the form and enter the name,
etc. first, then when they submit, it inputs into a table then use
cflocation to go to another screen, passing the reqeust nubmer, to
enter the part number, qty, and serial number. If they check a box
to indicate serial number, then I would like to autogenerate that
many serial number entry lines based on the qty entered.
Is there a better and more efficieint way to do this ? The
part numbers and serial number are in a separate table so the part
number will repeat but the serial numbers will be different.

Sounds like a shopping cart. I wouldn't store any data into a
db or generate an order number until the user has indicated that he
has finished entering data.
You will probably have to take a good look at your database
as well. You need a one to many relationship somewhere.

When was the last time you did any of the following?

Repaired Permission & restarted your computer?

That screen grab helps a lot. There’s a much easier way of doing what you’re doing.
Remove all your tabs and set the text in justified paragraphs.
I’ve typed in dummy text in the example I made below, but after “19.1” put in a space and put your blinking cursor after the space and before the ’N’ of ‘Notices'.
Then hold down the Command key and hit Backspace (on Mac at least - it’s the key between the Inverted commas/ apostrophe key and the return key).
The text will jump into place the way you want it to.

PS You can set a tab, instead of using a space, in the description I gave above. So, after 19.1 or 19.2 or 19.185 etc etc insert a tab, then hit the Command Backspace after every paragraph number and they'll all line up exactly together. You'll find that editing text within the paragraphs
after you've set it will be LOADS easier this way.
You can put the tab anywhere you want it to be using 'Command-ShiftT' and putting a 'left align' tab just after the number. Just type the Command Backspace after the paragraph number and it'll work

Markers help or advice please . FCP TO STP new to fcp and stp

markers created in a clip in Final Cut Pro then exported as Qtime movie are not showing up when QTime movie clip is re-opened in STpro. This seems a little odd to me.
why does STP not detect scene cuts and timcode markers from a QTime movie saved in final cut.
The Process we used.
we have a scene made up of several takes, thus several edit points within the scene, which we marked and named in FCP so we new which audio files to use within the scene.
we export scene as compressed Qtime movie.
Opened in ST pro, 1 video track with scratch track and NO MARKERS telling us the info we'd need.
What are we doing wrong? I'm guessing Qtime does not record marker info, if this is the case which format does. or is it back to pen and paper. If logic can detect scene cuts, why does STP not. is there a way?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I stress I'm new to this audio for film doodaa.

Seems that clip markers don't show up (in my experience too) but FCP Sequence markers do! Make sure you have all the clips, video, audio etc de-selected and then add the markers to the top timeline bar. These will then export.
BTW you have a choice of marker types available on export, but I found that the export all markers didn't export any markers... so select the marker type you are using and only export those. I am using Scoring markers for STP and now it works fine (although you are not able to move them once imported into STP...)
None of this is very clear in the FCP / STP manuals as little differentiation is made about the types of markers (i.e. whether for clips or sequences...)

I have just taken the bold leap into Indesign and this is the first day of my 30 day trial.
I need help and advice from you good poeple...please.
I have been successfully creating A5 booklets (folded A4) using MS Word and printing to a desktop printer. MS Word sorted out my page order for me at printing time so the correct pages were put together.
I have been reading as much information as I could find but I am still unable to do the same in Indesign.
I'm looking forward to using the advanced layout features and having control over what I do but, I need to work out this basic step before I go any further.
I hope what I have explained makes sense.

So presumably you create a new document, A5 portrait, facing pages. Make sure your ducument page count is a multiple of 4.
Create, type, tweak, ponder, edit, smile, save.
To create you booklet using InDesign, from the file menu select Print Booklet.
You will probably need to jump back and forth from the Print Settings button adjusting Paper Size, Orientation, Color, and from the Print Booklet tab set for 2-up Saddle Stitch.
Much has been posted on this topic, these are the basics, Print Booklet is not the best module Adobe ever wrote, IMO

A newbie in need of help and advice

I was wondering if someone could help and advise me...
I got my macbook at the beginning of the year.. I love it, so far. BUT as its my first mac, I know nothing about them or how to proceed.
I understand there is a thing called 'bootcamp', where I can install Windows. I have just started college and a lot of the stuff I will be working on in class, I would like to continue at home, so I need windows.
Obviously after persuading my hubby to buy me a mac, I cant turn around and say its no good for college work. Now this bootcamp and installing windows... would I get virus's like a normal windows computer? This was my big thing about buying a mac, the lack of virus.
How do i even go about getting windows? etc

Hi Nic,
You can buy your own genuine copy of Windows from either Microsoft or a reliable reseller like Amazon. I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium. On Amazon you can find a reasonable discount at the link below.

Once you get your copy of Windows, you can proceed with the Boot Camp installation.
1. Open Boot Camp Assistant after backing up important files and documents.
2. You should have a Snow Leopard OS X DVD on hand if you bought the Mac last year. If you don't, click the bullet that says "Downoad the support software for this Mac," and you should save all of that to some external source like a flash drive or external hard drive, CD, DVD, something.
3. If you do have an OS X DVD, click that bullet instead.
4. Partition your hard drive. It may sound intimidating but all it means is divide the space according to how much you want to give Windows and how much you want to leave for Mac OS X. Dividing in half is usually the easiest way so click "Divide Equally."
5. Click Continue and when you are prompted, insert the Windows DVD and click Start Installation.
6. When the Windows Installer prompts you to select a place to install, click on the partition of the hard drive that says "BOOTCAMP" and click Drive Options > Format so Windows can install correctly. It will tell you it won't be able to install at first, but when you click Format under Drive Options, it will be able to.
7. Proceed with the Windows installation. When it has to restart, hold down the Option key as your computer turns on and select the hard drive that says "Windows," NOT the CD/DVD icon that says "Windows".
8. Continue with the installation. When it is done, you can insert your Mac OS X DVD (on Windows) and install the Boot Camp drivers, or if you saved it to an external source, connect it that way and install.
9. To change between operating systems, just restart the computer while holding down the Option key and when the menu appears, double click on the OS you'd like to start up with.
Feel free to ask if this seems confusing at all.

Any experts out there that could offer insight would be much

Here's the sitch :
Down the left side of my page is a list of services, I want a
mouseover action on each of these services to cause the HTML text
to the right of the services list to change to an explanation of
that service, and to change the picture to the right of that text
(in yet another cell) to a picture of that service. So one
mouseover will cause both of the two neighboring table cells to
change their content. THE TEXT IS IN HTML and cannot be an image
for SEO purposes.
The second question regards a different page. I have text
that is too big for its table cell. I was wondering how to put a
scroll bar in a table cell.
If anyone knows the answer or can point me in the right
direction it would be so helpful!!

Your going to have to use some kind of layer/s for that.
Use 'settextofLayer' under the 'behaviours' in Dreamweaver.

Newbie Needs Template Help

Ok I am a complete newbie to flash. I have read most of the guides provided and searched the forums but I honestly can't find an answer to my question.
I have decided to use one of the templates provided with my flash pro cs5. It is the advanced album.
My question: how do I use it?
I know it gives me generalized instructions when it opens but for the life of me I cannot figure out where or how to put my photos in.
I am using the template because when I try to make an album from scratch I also cant seem to get it to work right (the images just fly through on the preview)

To make photos show up in the 'Advanced Photo Template' you have to do the following steps...
1.Store your project .fla file inside a folder.
2.Put all your photos inside that folder that you want in the Photo Template.
3.Now you have to go inside the actions frame of the template and change line 11 with this code below by adding your own photo directory.
Line 11:
var hardcodedXML:String="<photos><image title='Your Photo'>images/yourphoto.png</image><image title='Your Photo 2'>folder/yourphoto2.png</image></photos>";
Simple Explained Form:

I have 4800 jpg files in my librarie, and i want to put each
in a keyframe on scene; the idea is to make a simple movie.
Importing a .mov movie, the quality decrease, and i just notice,
with the jpg file the swf movie has a better quality.

hit "F6" here few times.
then at next screen put diskette which contain RAID drivers into floppy and load them with pressing "S" key.
load 1st one, and config. them hit "S" key again and load second one as well. you need to load it both:
