Newbie: trying to watch apple seminar
I am watching an apple seminar (Mac OSX and photography). I have cable. I have a brand new iMac. It is a QuickTime movie.
The viewing box is tiny. If I enlarge it, it is incredibly distorted. It is clear in the tiniest size, but really not viewable. The instructor is showing screens on a Mac, so I presume I am supposed to be able to see those screens.
What setting do I need to get a bigger, clearer screen to watch this seminar?

it's your network that is not stable
I would troubleshoot the general network setup look if the router had the latests firmware
if the wifi channel was the default one then I would change it as other near by wifi networks using the same channel would interfere
if the wifi router supported it then I would switch to 5Ghz wifi as the 2.4Ghz frequency is a pretty busy frequency
and I would place the wifi router a place where it would provide best possible cover for the devices
and I would try to see if connecting the appletv by ethernet to the wifi router would provide a more stable setup -
Hello can some please help I am trying to watch my HBO go on my apple tv I have sound no picture. I can watch my iTunes videos and youtube on my airplay with my ipad and everything is updated so I know it works. But not on HBO go, Max go, showtime go.
What you want to do does not work with an iPd running iOS 5. See the screenshot.
The latest update for HBO GO does allow for AirPlay on Apple TV - sound and video - but only on devices running iOS 6 and Apple TV running 5.1.1 or later - according to the app description. -
i got charged twice for a movie (Safe House). Can i get a refund for that? we were not able to finish the movie last night, and now we're trying to watch it again. We have an hour left, however the apple tv is still loading the movie again for 2 hrs & 46 mins.

My "Apple TV" is hooked up via HDMI to my Marantz receiver. Everything works fine when watching movies. When trying to watch a show or listen to music, there is no sound. Has this happened to anyone else?
Perhaps you should ask over in the iPad community, you may get better answers there.
It's actually my fault that psoon ended up here ... s/he intially posted over at Home Sharing, and I tried a relocate request to Apple TV rather than iPad.

I purchased a Shakira movie (HD). I watch it OK in my PC, but when trying to watch it in my TV using Apple TV I get an endless rolling wheel. I can watch other Apple Store movies with no problem. Any idea of what's going on?

I rented a movie via apple TV. Watched half of it last night, and trying to watch the rest of it tonight but itunes cant find it. It helpfully tells me I have already rented this item, but then wont find it. Ideas anyone????
when you rent a movie it gives you 30 days until you start watching it
once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to watch it so idealy your movie expired... -
I am trying to watch Netflix on my Apple TV and it keeps buffering. I have restarted it several times.
ATV is wireless. DNS is set to Auto. It's not my network.
The ATV's performance with Netflix (only App I tried) was worse using Google's DNS as others have suggested. The problem with the Netflix App (for me) only occurred after the latest iOS update to ATV, and it seems to have affected only the Netflix App.
As I mentioned in my original comment, the Vizio in my room (which happens to be further from the WiFi source) runs just fine and streams Netflix with no issues. In fact, we can run it while simultaneously streaming on the ATV and the Vizio Netflix App still doesn't skip a beat. I can simultaneously run two or three other laptops on WiFi (since my wife and I both work from home) and she'll have the Vizio streaming the entire time and there are no issues.
If we switch the ATV to Hulu+ (or other Apps), it runs fine, but the shows my kids want to watch are on Netflix. All indications point to the Netflix App and an issue endemic to Apple. -

i had homesharing on my mac, but when i tried to watch a rented movie on my apple tv i got a message to turn on homesharing. i tried but kept getting an error message 12004. can anyone please provide a solution ?

If the rental is not working, then follow the steps in this article to report an issue with your purchase. And then after that try the to rent the movie again.

rented a movie on my mac - trying to watch on apple tv (i think 2), but iTunes not "seeing" apple tv - so i can't 'move' the rental to the device. i'm brand new at apple tv - do i need to enable it or something?
Is it the little black box? If yes then it is the 2nd model. It won't show up in iTunes as there is no syncing involved. The only time it does is when you connect and need to restore the device.
You need to enable home sharing in iTunes and on ATV
