Newbie wants to avoid disaster!

Hi everyone,
My missus is getting a new iPod today to compliment the shuffle she is lovin'!!
She & I want to avoid any possible disasters when setting it up and avoid erazing music losing settings etc.
Can anyone help us with 4 questions please?

Question 1
She has a collection of bought music which has been downloaded to her Library on her computer using iTunes.
She has created a list of 53 tunes in DEVICES. (I'm not sure what you call this list)
Does this mean that when the new 80GB iPod is connected it will also appear as a DEVICE and can have its own list of music, or will it erase her existing library?
QUESTION 2
Having purchased the tracks from iTunes, can she put them on both devices, and is it legal? (UK)
QUESTION 3
We like what we've bought, and plan to get 'Shuffles' for each of the kids.
Can they also plug into her computer and load tracks on their Shuffles?

First of all yes it's legal (don't know why you think it's not). However:
1) iPod shuffles can only update from a single iTunes library ( a technical issue, not a legal one, it's the way they are designed).
2) To use an iPod ( other than a shuffle) on multiple computers you have to set it to manual update:

why dont you add the object key also to lt_cuhd and once you fetch the data to lt_cuhd loop it and add the '%'
when looping use field symbols so that you dont have to use modify.
then use for all entries using lt_cuhd
i don't you can find a better way to add the % mark apart from looping but by this way only one select query will be done for

As per my R&D, it does not seems to possible to remove standard properties. AD Title property by default map with SPS-jobtitle, which is the standard way. May i know why you want to avoid this?

We are sorry but you would not be able to update from Creative Suite 4 .The reason being there are no updates available for Acrobat version 9 .It is quite an older version so you are unfortunately not eligible for any updates or upgrade .
The best option for you would be to opt for Acrobat DC .

I dont think you would have got new PR's created after changing the Individual collective indicator in the material master - MRP4 view of the raw material.
I would suggest you to run MRP in "3"- Delete and Recreate Mode or Delete the already created PR's and then try running MRP.

Moving & want to avoid engineer charge

I will be moving at the end of the month. I would like to transfer my line to my new place but I want to avoid having to pay £130 for an engineer to come out to connect the line. I know that the line there is still connected so I don't see why I should have to. I also don't want to be tied into another or extend my contract.
I don't really know how to approach the situation though. Can you help at all?

There is no need to pay the £130 if the line is actually connected. By that I mean that if you pick up the phone you get a dial tone, and if you dial 17070 you get a recorded message giving you your phone number.
Make sure when you go through the ordering process (either by phone or on-line) that you say that the line is already connected.
As for the minimum contract, it's a standard clause in BT's T&Cs that a home move means a new 12 month minumum contract. I can't see any way round it.

HELP! Recording software newbie wants to create virtual drum tracks...

I bought Logic Pro after finding GarageBand frustrating to work with but I think I have stepped out of the frying pan into the fire. I'm a complete newb to recording on computers (I have always used hardware solutions previously). All I want to do right now is learn how to sequence rhythm (drum & bass) tracks using sampled sounds but I have absolutely no idea where to start. A glance at the user manual has left me cold, and now I'm wondering whether I wouldn't have been better buying a much simpler and more specific program for my needs just to get started.
Does Logic come with enough drum samples to sequence, say, a backing track for a rock song? Or do I need to buy more samples, software and integrate it into Logic?
I'm completely out of my depth here and considering giving in and selling my copy of Logic to someone who knows what to do with it. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Logic comes with thousands of drum samples, a sampler (EXS 24) and a Drummachine (Ultrabeat). So load either one of those into a Software Instrument track, open the Library - either on the right of the Arrange or within the Plug In - load a Drumkit and hit some keys on your Midikeyboard or Capslock Keyboard. The Drumkits are usually assigned the GM way with the Kickdrum on C2, rim on C#2, snare on D2 and so on. Then hit record and record a Midi sequence which you play on the Keyboard, quantize afterwards to taste (or play as tight as you can with your Audio peferences set to a low Buffer size to avoid Latency).

Iphone 4 wont sync to itunes anymore. Itunes opens then a message comes up saying I need to restore it. I want to avoid doing this as I've noticed some of my purchases since updating itunes are missing from computer but they are on my phone.

I have reset my phone, put the latest updates on itunes and iphone and thought it might work then, but no luck. I am trying to avoid restoring it as I dont want to loose the data I have purchased that is missing off my itunes since I updated that. I'm not sure how to contact itunes to get my data put back on my itunes on computer. All my purcahsed data from itunes still comes up on my phone as it hasnt been able to sync to the update. DOes anyone know how to contact itunes to have bought data re-put back on. It comes up in my itunes acocount with the date and purchase number but these items are missing from my itunes purcahsed items. Weird?
I am on an imac. Is there anyway I can get around the issue of syncing again or should I just restore once I have contacted itunes about them deleting my paid for items! I feel very ripped off, its like buyoing something from target and having the manager come to your house and retrieve it! lol

How to Use Multiple iDevices with One Computer

Newbie wants to remove first name from cell that contains "FIRST LAST"

Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty much a complete newb with a spreadsheet. I have a sheet with sales prospects. One cell has the the full name in a cell, i.e. "John H. Doe". Some of the cells have a period after the middle initial. Some cells have no middle initial. What I am wanting to do is to create a new cell that only contains the first name. If it makes it any easier, I do have another cell that contains only the last name. When explaining how to do this, I ask that you dumb it down for me! I have about 850 rows. I'll need instructions completely in steps. I don't know how to apply a function to a new column. Thanks in advance! I know I'm asking alot.

It would help you to get acquainted with Numbers if you read the User Guide PDF. It's written at a beginner level, not like a reference manual.
This solution assumes that the full name is in column A. If not, you can substitute your true column for the "A"s in the formula. Click the label on Column A to select it. In the Table Menu, select Add Column After, to make a blank column to the right of the full name column. Let's assume that your first row is a Header Row, so you won't have data or equations in the first row. In the second row of the new column, paste this expression: =IFERROR(LEFT(A, FIND (" ", A)-1), "") (Copied from here)
That cell that you pasted the expression into should now show the first name of the person in row 2. Now select that row 2 cell and Shift-Click the last cell in that column so that all the cells from row 2 down are selected. Next select Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
Now all your first names should be showing.

is self explanitory)
If you can help me, with say a working example, I would be so
appreciative.

Odd quesiton but why are you doing it like this ?
XHTML sounds like what you want ...
Anyhow, you can do all you want - but its a little more
complicated - and
hard to explain here - you need to explicitly state how they
should appear,
within your XSLT ... (I Think, never having done it)

Flash newbie wants to know how to open a new browser

Hello all! I'm a flash newbie who needs some help!
I am building a flash website. To navigate within the site, i
made buttons which use the "gotoandStop" behavior which takes the
user to certain frames within the my Flash file timeline. However,
I want this to happen in a new browser window for the user, like a
popup.
How do I do this?

Oc4j newbie wanting to learn

I am a newbie to oc4j
Is there some place where i can find the sequence of steps by which the different parameters are setup/accessed and used oc4j
I would like to know the sequence (and the order of execution) of steps in which different parameters are picked up from different xml configuration files by the OC4j/Forms/OAFM services
something on the lines of the opmctl is started and within that it picks up the value1 for parameter1 from file1 and uses that information for....kind of thing
Please do let me know if that is a bit too much to be asking

You should be able to specify your default printer via System Preferences -> Print & Scan (at least that is what is currently called under Lion).
There is also:
man lpadmin
man lpoptions
You can also set the PRINTER environment variable to specify your default
You can access your CUPS server via <http://localhost:631/help>
And finally if you want to get your hands really dirty, you can edit /etc/cups/printers.conf (must use sudo, and of course you could mess up your printer setup)

HT1807 I want to avoid all charges while travelling

I've gone to Settings --> Carrier and turned 'automatic' off, but when I return to the main settings screen, my iPhone has selected a carrier. It keeps doing this ... there doesn't seem to be a way for it to ignore cellular carriers in the area. I don't want any charges to my bill while I'm travelling. How do I get it to stop? (B.t.w. I have Data Roaming off, Wi-Fi off, Bluetooth off and Personal Hotspot off.)
Any help would be much appreciated!

It would probably best for you if you turned airplane mode on, and that would stop your phone from trying to connect to other carriers and put you in roaming. If you turn airplane mode on while traveling, avoid using your cellular connect because its going to use data while roaming and your phone bill will go high up xD . Use wifi when needed. Invoice is getting blocked automatically, want to avoid this

Gurus,
While processing a GR based PO after posting Goods Receipt and then while processing Invoice Receipt, the invoice is being automatically blocked for verification. But I want this not to happen (I want invoice to be free for payment), I did check the T-code OMR6 (Set Tolerance Limits), Activation Item Amount Check and Stochastic Block. But nothing is working, am I missing any other config check from FI side or am I missing any check box while posting an Invoice or Goods receipt.

Untick the Mannual Payment block and Not Changeable for Blocking reason "R"
