Newbuild with FTTP, BT site only showing ADSL avai...

Hello,
I am moving into a new build at the end of August. It has been built (as has the entire estate) with FTTP. However, when I go on the BT website for the home move, it only shows ADSL with a max of 3.5mbs. Other homes under the same postcode have Infinity available.
I called 0800 587 4787, explained the situation. I was put through to someone who had absolutely no idea why. Told me to cancel the order (and did it for me) and try again in 24 hours. Was left feeling like I had been totally fobbed off and now with a cancelled home move order (which isn't showing cancelled in my user area).
Which steps can I take to help this along? No one I speak to seems to be able to take control and understand what the issue is.
I am under the Horley exchange.

    I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
    My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
    My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
    In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
    But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?

  • Problems with fluid grid layout live site only showing phone view in Chrome and Firefox Feb 2015

    Hi all,
    I have done a complex fluid grid layout using DW 2014 CC. The site has now gone live on the web masters server setup.
    Up until now the layout of the site has been working fine and responding to screen size.
    Early this morning in the USA the site stopped working. The layout for some users, not all, is only showing the phone view, and takes a long time to load.
    This is happening in Chrome and Firefox, but IE is displaying the site properly.
    So it looks like the CSS media queries are not working on all browsers.
    I am using BC for the test site, and one user having this problem can see that version of the site OK.
    I noticed that Chrome has done some updates recently Chrome Releases
    Has anyone else come across this problem with Chrome and Firefox with their responsive layouts?

    Yes, thanks for this link. The Travel Health Website is one of ours, hosted on BC, and no reported problems so far. We also have another large BC website with ga code in it and users are not reporting problems with it. The Headless Way
    However the problem website is hosted elsewhere on a different platform to BC. We have been developing it for three months now, and no problems so far until yesterday. The problem of the site taking ages to load, and timing out seems to be happening with about 10% of users in the USA. http://www.harrisonassessments.com/
    The web developer found a user in NZ who was experiencing the slow display problem. They looked at the site with Chrome, Firefox and IE. The site would only display on IE. When the developer removed the google analytics code, the site displayed fine on all browsers for the NZ user. We are waiting for users in the USA to wake up and test the site.
    So the problem definitely is related to the ga code and the responsive layout that was done by me in DW2014.1 fluid grid layout. So the related problem of DW2014.1 not being able to load htm files with ga code in them looks to be a good clue to what is going on here.
    As there was a bug report for DW2014.1 and google analytics code made in the other thread, I would be interested to know if that was ever solved.
    It is interesting that you are pushing Bootstrap and Foundation on me. (Big square websites here I come! lol)
    I wonder if DW is going to persist with fluid grid layout then? I certainly hope so, as I have spent 12 months blood sweat and tears learning how to do it in DW.

  • HTTPS sites only show a white box in "top sites".

    I have been trying to add some of my secure sites to "Top Sites" in Safari 4.0.4 but they only show as a white block without any kind of preview. Is there any way to fix this?

    Try maintenance...
    From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
    From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
    Could be a 3rd party plugins causing the problem. Go to ~/Library/Internet Plugins. Move any 3rd party plugins to the Trash and restart your Mac.
    Also, if you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.

  • Printing chart with legend type "DATATABLE" only shows graph.

    Hi All,
    We are running BI 7.01, distributing webtemplates via the Portal.
    When a report contains a chart with Legend Type "DATATABLE", the table under the graph does not get printed when creating a PdF print. The report output shows the data fine. How can I get these DATATABLE legends to become visible when printing in PDF?

    Thanks for the quick reply.
    Isn't this an Adobe/Portal related phenomenon? The 3.5 version of the same report works fine and it uses the same IGS. I thought the IGS was only needed for rendering the graph to display on screen, but is it also needed to create a PDF? I figured that once the output is on screen, the IGS's work is done. Or am I totally off here?

  • Files with broken links that only show in Smart Playlists

    My issue is a strange one, so please bear with me. First - I've had the same iTunes library for several version of iTunes. That might have something to do with my issue. The issue is that when I create a Smart Playlist filtering for genre=podcasts, there are numerous files listed there with broken links. If I flip over to the Podcast category under my Library, these files do not appear. I'd like to delete these broken links, but since they only appear in a Smart Playlist I can't delete them from there. My feeling is that the iTunes library database just has some left over records from previous files. Does anyone know how to edit the library or is there some 3rd party utility that can clean up these hidden records for me?

    The issue is that when I create a Smart Playlist filtering for genre=podcasts, there are numerous files listed there with broken links. If I flip over to the Podcast category under my Library, these files do not appear.
    Podcasts are not put into the Podcast category by the Genre just as Audiobooks ar enot put into Audiobooks category by the Genre.
    It is info in the file and when it is downloaded that makes it a podcast or audiobook.
    Likely these podcasts are under Music.
    Hold Option and click on the arrow next to the item name. This should take you to the item in the library, wherever it is.
    Also, you can hold hold Option and press Delete. This will remove the item from the playlist and also delete it from the library.

    Give this a try if you have an Apple logo and spinning gear displayed on the screen:
    Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    Sounds as if you used Microsoft software to make a PDF. If so, and you didn't use Adobe Acrobat ($$), then you need to get help with Publisher -- Adobe Reader only shows what you make.

    I am unable to view or download pdf file on the following site. All I get is a system down message.
    If I open IE6 and try the site then I am able view and download the pdf without problems.

  • Installed iTunes 10 and lettering only shows half-way

    I installed iTunes app on my new XPS system, it runs on W7 64-bit and every app runs great except iTunes, when i go and plug my iPod the screen with the iPod info only shows cut-off words and ... but never finishes senteces such as information and such.
    Anyone has any ideas on how to fix it? I've used the app on another XPS system with Vista 32-bit version and ran just fine. I did download the 64-bit version of the software but still doing the same thing.

    I've figured it out!!! making the font size of the display to the small setting instead of the medium or High on W7 will fix this error. IDK why it was set as high but it finally shows everything there is to see on any menu and screen!

  • Some video clips only show as white

    I have recently installed SpeedGrade on a new workstation and I am having issues with some video content only showing as pure white. I have DNxHD 175 1080p/23.976 footage recorded on an Atomos Ninja blade and h.264 1080p/23.976 24Mbps footage recorded on a Nikon D610. On my MacBook both will show in Speed Grade, on my workstation only the D610 footage in h.264 will show. The Ninja footage in DNxHD just shows as a solid white block. Understandably I want to grade the Ninja footage
    I am running Speed Grade 8.2x51 on Windows 8.1 with the following machine spec:
    Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 2.5Ghz with 12 cores
    128GB DDR 4 RAM
    Nvidia Quadro K6000
    Has anyone else come across this and know a solution ?

    Yea, first project I tried to experiment with DNxHD I'd downloaded a clip, and the flipping thing didn't play right. Had a few questions here & elsewhere ... then after several posts about this or that potential problem, someone asked ... "so, like, dude, you DID install the codec before trying this, right?"
    My ... um ... oopsies ... no ... hadn't even thought about whether it was a "built-in" codec or not, and everyone trying to help assumed I'd known enough to do that step. So, yes, I learned about this the wonderful hard-knocks way. And now I'm a much more enlightened person who keeps finding new and wonderfully more silly ways to dig a hole to stumble into.
    For so many things, direct mode is a slicker way of working. Use it when you can, which is mostly. SpeedGrade has some occasional problems if say you try & key-frame a mask for grading, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. You need to remember that in Direct Mode Sg is NOT allowed to "play" with the PrPro-created timeline itself, you can't add to it or delete things from it. Including you can't add a grading layer above the timeline tracks in Sg, as you would in "native" mode. So ... if you need one and didn't think about it whilst in PrPro, you just save & return to PrPro, add a "new item->adjustment layer" over as many clips as needed, or as many as you want ... then go back to Sg & use those for grading layers. That sort of thing.
    It's pretty darn slick in all.

  • Grub2 with two screens only shows up on one

    I have recently installed Arch, and kudos, everything works almost perfect out of the box so to say. I had few hickups with some hardware, but everything resolved just fine in less than few hours thanks to magic of Google and Arch Wiki. As you probably guess I am quite new to Arch, but I am kind-a noob in disguise since I have beem Redhat user since around version 5.1 of their "Fedora" predecessor. Anyway I still consider myself a newbie since I have always been more of a user less of sysadmin/tweaker. I am a programmer and don't really care much about os internals as long as everything *just works*.
    Now I have installed Arch on a laptop with external screen attached to it and have troubles with GRUBs boot screen not showing up on 2nd monitor. Boot menu only shows up on a built-in laptop screen, not on external one, There are no problems with my monitors, everything works as intended once system boots to X, however I can't get GRUB to show up on both screens. As my setup considered, I use this laptop as a dekstop replacement, so it sits on a shelf below my desk and since I don't see laptop screen at all, you understand, it is quite of inconvenience :-).. I have external monitor, keyboard and a mouse attached to it to VGA and usb ports so it really don't feels as laptop at all. I have managed to confiugre window managers to turn off laptop screen after login (shame to waste power and burn pixels if I can't see them), but I can't manage to get GRUB to show up on external monitor. Of course I have Arch as default so it boots into Arch anyway, and Windows is just below so I can blindly switch to windows by just pressing one arrow key, but I still have to look below the desk just to pick the right timing to press the arrow key for those rare occasions when I have to boot into windows :-). And most notably: I never had this problem with GRUB before and yes I had Fedora installed on this system as well.
    I am using grub in text mode, I don't care for fancy splashes at boot time and so on.
    I have googled quite a bit and seen that other people also have this issue, but I haven't seen any good answer yet. On one forum there is an answer that GRUB can't see the 2nd screen at boot time since it speaks only to BIOS (or uefi better to say), but I don't think its true. I am using my 2nd screen without problems in uefi bios mode, and windows boot mngr shows just fine on both screens, so it must be some setting for GRUB that I can't find.
    I hope I am asking question in proper section, if not feel free to move it around.

    Of course easiest way woud be to just format c:\ to ext4 and not need to boot into Windows at all, but alas, I do make money on guess what: programming VBA and automating databases with Access and Excel - I can tell you, vba programmers seem to be an extinct art so there is money to be made :-).

    @The Saint - yeah, I realized after I posted that this was wrong thread. I am new to Arch wiki and was too fast to post. I came to forum with intend to ask this question, looked quickly through sections, saw "hardware" and posted just to realize afterwards it is ment hardware in context of kernel. This should probably be moved to some other section of the forum. I am sorry for inconvenience.
    @Glow - I see uefi bios on my 2nd screen, no problems here. When I run live dvd I also see it on 2nd screen, but I think the dvd is using Syslinux instead of Grub. I have not tried another boot loader with Arch and Windows. Would like to use Grub2 actually just because I am familiar with it and it boots fine both linux and windows. So I would in first hand like to fix issue with Grub if possible, but if not I will have to look into some other boot loader.

    Unfortunately Pakistan is one of those countries where media isn't available from iTunes - when that might change we won't know (we are fellow users on here) until if/when Apple announce something.
    Are there other music purchase download sites available there ? Or you can copy your CDs via your computer's iTunes and sync them to your phone

  • Ringtones i purchased from itunes disappeared when my iphone 4s restarted and they only show up as 'on my device' in itunes library but with a grey dotted circle. How do I get them back? They worked until the phone restarted!

    I purchased some alert tones on my iphone 4s via itunes yesterday. They all worked just fine until the phone ran out of battery and I plugged it in and restarted. They have vanished from the phone and when I connect to my PC they only show up as 'on my device' under tones and with a grey dotted circle by them. How do I get them back? This is crazy! I purchased one a second time, it worked, I switched my phone off and on again and it has gone again!!!

    Having the same issue on multiple alert tones on my Iphone5c.  After purchase they disappear from the phone and show up on my itune under Tones grayed out with a dotted circle next to them.
