Newby needs basic tutorial for dvdsp

I'm sorry for this question but I am new to DVDSP. I was using Idvd which was pretty straight forward but now that I have studio pro I am lost. I bought the Martin Sitter and Adrian Ramseier book but I can't make head nor tails of it.
I looked for DVDSP for Dummies but I guess they don't have one.
Can anyone recommend a simple, basic book on how I can get started? (Or can someone explain to me, like I was a four year old, how I can simply just export my project from FCP to DVDSP-Burn it on to a disc? I can't even figure that out!
If I can just get started I know I can get going with all of the good stuff later.
Thanks for your help.

  • Need good tutorial for J2EE

    Hi All,
Can anyone help in out in finding a good tutorial for J2EE.
I wanted to have glimpses of this technology before delving deeply into it.
Also please suggest some good reference books on the same
    Thanks
    Ankush

I'm afraid there is no quick way of learning J2EE. Of all the people on this forum only a few have truly mastered the framework. I suggest you learn it step-by-step by following the tutorial. Read the introduction to give you a glimpse of the technology and then, dive in....
The way I learned it was by building a three-tier website based on Servlets, JSP and EJB. After a few days/weeks in hell, I had an overview of the technology. I suggest you do the same.
As for book suggestions : stick to the standards. You (almost) can't go wrong with Wrox or O'Reilly.

  • Need very basic tutorial for actionscript3 and Flash Builder?

I'm VERY new to coding, only 17 wishing to persure computer science when i'm older.
My issue is on adobe CC website all the tutorials require intermediate experience and I have none, however, i'm very passionate and think i will thrive with this new hobby.
Anyone know any tutorials on where you start with very basic basics in these applications?
    Thanks.

Ask in the forums for those programs... the people who use the programs will know more than here
This forum is about the Cloud as a delivery process, not about using individual programs
If you start at the Forums Index http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says ALL FORUMS) to open the drop down list and scroll

  • Where can I find a basic tutorial for the EOS rebel T4i?

I just recievecd my first DSLR and I'm looking for a video tutorial that will take me through the basics of how to use the camera. I feel like this is something that should have come with the camera, (Nikon includes 3 how-to discs) but it didn't and this website is not the most user friendly. Any suggestions?

Search YouTube for a group called PhotographersonUtube. They provide pretty good basic information along with reviews of some equipment.  Hope this helps

  • Need basic documentation for Adobe Reader X

Can anyone point me to documentation that will explain what document properties are needed to be able to highlight text in a document?  The document "Adobe_reader_x_help.pdf" does not discuss this at all.  I need to highlight text in an academic document, and all permissions are enabled except Document Asembly, Signing, and Creation of Template Pages.
"Commenting" permission is available, and an ordinary person of a basic level of intelligence would assume that includes highlighting of text. At the same time, "Content Copying" is set to Allowed but I can't seem to do that either, so I am left wondering whether this is an idiotic feature designed by an idiot or merely an idiotic bug.
FWIW Adobe is BEGGING to be slapped with an unfair trade practices class action based on its blatant attempts to leverage its monopoly over the PDF file format into sales of expensive-*** Acrobat just to perform basic features, like highlighting text, that actually WORK without having to purchase a product for hundreds of dollars.

Adobe Reader X (on the desktop) can highlight text in any PDF file provided it is not directly forbidden by a security setting - so any unsecured PDF can be highlighted, as can any secured PDF with "commenting" allowed in the security properties. Highlights are just another form of comment.
Previous versions of Adobe Reader could not apply highlights without Reader-extended permissions set by Acrobat or LiveCycle, but Adobe decided with version X to allow comments and sticky notes by default.
...and FWIW, the PDF format is an open ISO standard, used by hundreds of software developers besides Adobe. Yes of course the Acrobat Family sets the standard for working with PDF content, as Adobe invented the thing; but they don't have a monopoly by any means except in specific areas of DRM, rich media and very advanced document editing. For example OS X can read and write PDFs natively, but to create files with scripting and interactivity you need a commercial application such as Acrobat.

  • Looking for the basic Tutorial for Labview 5

I have a student who I would like to have learn labVIEW. But all of my systems are running labVIEW 5.1 I am looking for the tutorial which starts assuming that you know nothing of this program, and steps you through writing several programs.

There was a tutorial included with the LabVIEW 5.1 CD. You can also find some links to on-line tutorials here as well as links to some LabVIEW books. I don't know how many of the tutorials or books are specific to LabVIEW 5.1 but the basic LabVIEW functions haven't changed that much and there should be enough to get someone started.

  • Need a tutorial for RTSI triggering

I am using a PXI-8196 with 5 PXI modules, the ones that matter here are
    a PXI-6542, and  PXI-4060. In 5 of 6 instances I am triggering the
hsDIO card off a TTL signal on PFI0 - no problem. For the sixth case I
need to trigger when an input voltage (115Vac) is present. My thinking
is to use the DMM and when the voltage is present trigger the 6542
using the RTSI trigger line. But I have never exposed a DMM reading as
a RTSI trigger. A tutorial and/or example would be hugely appreciated.
(And if I am taking the wrong approach please set me straight)
    TIA

    Hello Lawrence,
Unfortunately, the DMM can not be used as a synchronizing device
(Triggers can not be routed from the DMM to other PXI devices). The
following KnowledgeBase document details what the DMM can/cannot do as
far as synchronizing goes, " PXI-407x Synchronization Q&A". The information in this KB applies to the 4060.
What I think you could do though is to use a third Simple MIO DAQ card
for routing a start trigger that could be used for the DMM to acquire
the high voltage signal and for the HSDIO to beging its operation. The
signal of interest (115V) can be externally attenuated to suit the MIO
card input limits of 10V and the DAQ card will be able to route the
start trigger via the PXI trigger bus.

If the above links dont work, i recommend you working with
    flash for pc first.
Check out these links if you want the codes to catch up:
    http://www.timwalling.com/category/flash-lite/
    http://www.scottjanousek.com/
    http://richardleggett.co.uk/blog/index.php?cat=28
for references of FL 1.1 development (very useful):
    http://www.scottjanousek.com/downloads/fl_onesheet/fl_onesheet.pdf
    My recommendations are:
    1. Study with Flash for PC applications FIRST (starting with
    Flash 4 for PC)
    2. Work slowly. start with FL 1.0 (button actions) then move
your way up to gaming and "machuke" (screensavers with clocks).
    3. Search engine
    4. work day and night learning how to develop flash apps.
Keep checking around and you may find a few .fla files that
you can download to see how it works.
    Good luck!

  • Newby needing basic help

this has to be the least intuitive program I've ever used. I'm trying to set my input so my son can record from his keyboard, but there is no preferences option under audio input for anything other than built-in audio. I have Line-in active in my system sound preferences. This is driving me nuts because I also would like to transfer some old LPs and cassettes to my computer.

I too am new to Apple. I just bought a Mac Laptop with the dual Intel setup and I am struggling with my m-audio keystation. I can not get it to access any of the sounds. It is acting as if it needs a driver, but everywhere I go it says that no driver is necessary. I feel like I am missing something. I have read the posts here and I feel like I have tried all this options can someone please help.
Also, I am using FastTrack for my inputs. Anyone using condenser mics requiring phantom power? How are you setting this up. I have a mixer that I can run a line out of into the guitar line of of the FastTrack but I am unsure if this will work.
One last issue I am having issues with my monitors using Fast Track. My left speaker works at the proper volume level for the first couple minutes of a song then cuts to a very low volume. Is this a problem with the monitor or Fast Track.
I realize must of this relates to M-Audio stuff but any help would be appreciated. I really want to get up and recording but I am limited to loops right now.
    Thanks,
    RJ

  • Tutorial for stageWebView

    Hi all,
Is there any good tutorials for how to use the stageWebView in a mobile project?
I would love to read a very basic tutorial for this function, but haven't been able to find one... Anyone know where I can find it?
A written tutorial or a sample package (like the mobile employee directory) would be great!
    Thanks in advance!
Best regards from Camilla in Sweden

Well, this is not a tutorial but it helped me a lot.
Here u will find an example and some usefull reviews that u can use.

Also you can use the example from Tour de flex about calling an HTML page into a view.
    Hope it helped!

  • Need basic instructions to enable XP machine to share Vista iTunes

iTunes is running fine on my new Vista desktop. However, my XP laptop cannot see the iTunes on Vista so I cannot play my music in other rooms using my wireless network. Is there a basic tutorial for setting up my Vista and XP machines to enable this?
    Thx.

Simply enable the SMB server in workgroup manager. Unless you customized your share points, they will automatically be available via the SMB protocol as well as the AFP protocol. With the service active, test from your Mac with:
1: in Finder, go to the Go menu and choose Connect to Server
2: in the address box type: smb://<ipor_host_name_ofserver>
    3: press connect
Can you connect to your shares from the Mac? If so, then do this on Windows.
1: Open the My Computer window
2: From the Tools menu select Map Network Drive
3: You can try to hit the browse button to find the server and the share or you can
    a: select a drive letter
b: define the network path like
    \\<ipor_host_name_ofserver>\share name
c: click the connect as different user link and put in the users credentials
d: leave the box checked for connect at login
That should get you want you want with little extra work. If you are running an Open Directory Master on your OS X Server, you can go further and join the Windows system to the domain for centralized user management. Not sure if that is a priority for you. You may only care about the share point access.
    Hope this helps

  • Need Tutorial for Simple Voice Recording

I'm running for public office, and a local newspaper invited me to submit a statement along with a MP3 audio file. I asked a question on another forum about software that can be used to make MP3 files on a Leopard platform, and I was told to use GarageBand.
I viewed the video tutorial for Podcasts and also checked out another Apple tutorial, but they don't go very far. In contrast, GarageBand 3: Getting Started is overwhelming.
I would like to start by making a very simple audio - nothing more than a two-minute recording of my voice, with no overlaid music, no images, loops or other enhancements.
Can anyone list the steps I need to follow, from recording my speech to converting it to an MP3 file?
I've cliked the Male track, recorded my voice, stopped the recording (though probably incorrectly), then double-clicked on the file to play it back, but nothing happens.
    Thanks.

    It's very easy:
    • Create a "real instrument" track and select a voice preset or no effects at all.
    • Hit "record" to record your voice, hit the record button again or the stop button to stop recording.
    • Move the playhead to the appropriate position for playback.
    • If you like your recording, select "Share to iTunes" from the menu and select compression with MP3.

  • I am new to Garage Band and was previously using sound forge on my PC to edit music for my Figure Skating students.  Is there a basic tutorial I can read to get started, nothing seems the same.

I am new to Mac and Garage Band and was wondering if I can use this program to edit existing tracks downloaded from i-tunes etc.  Is there a basic tutorial to get me started?  I edit music for figure skaters so it is relatively basic, fading in/out, cutting and pasting etc.

use an automation curve for this, open GB's help and search for "curve"
