    Question about download file in OAS4:
    I use Oracle Application Server 4.0.7 on my Windows NT 4.0 SP6;
    I use PL/Sql Cartridge developer a document system; It's use the
    upload/download in PL/Sql Cartridge;
    I read the document , the Upload/download in Pl/Sql Base on the
    Oracle Application Server's Content Service. the Problem is when I
    download a document, If I upload a Html or MsWord file, It will store in a LongRaw column, when me download ; It's tell me can't
    find a application to open this file; I will select a application
    from list to open the download file;
    As normal, It will open MsWord Automatic when download a "doc" file ; also It will open a new window of Browser to view a Html file;
    I check the download process on client Browser; when download
    file, The content-type always return "application/octet-stream";
    Also the download File will lost the postfix of the file,
    So Browser don't open the File Automatic;
    I think If I set the correct Content-Type , Browser can know how open the file; So I use owa_content.set_content_type procedure

    I have a Tecra M2 and rely on your email update to ensure I have the latest drivers on my machine.
    When I received a Toshiba support email on 14 April 2005 giving reference to a QFE from Microsoft I assumed it would be necessary for my Tecra.
    I was very confused when I found that this QFE and subsequent ones posted on the 16 April 2005 relate to Pre SP2 critical updates no9t required if one has already taken earlier advice of updating to Service Pack, at the very least your narrative should make mention of this. I find it very difficult to believe that your updates are two+ years out of date.

  • Copyright question about downloaded album

    Paid for and downloaded an album from iTunes store...I'm speaking at a workshop tomorrow; if I play the album in the background as background noise, is that a violation of copyright laws? Is it possible to contact the publisher or artist to get permission if it is a violation? Just want to be respectful of the artist...it's not words, just nature sounds and strings, but still not sure about what's ok and what's not...any info appreciated...

    I'm speaking at a workshop tomorrow; if I play the album in the background as background noise, is that a violation of copyright laws?
    Unless you or the venue has a license to play the track, or (more commonly with a venue like a hotel) a blanket license with the appropriate rights organization, yes, it would be a violation of the copyright. Any sort of public performance, whether paid or not, is protected by copyright and requires a separate license from the content owner.
    Is it possible to contact the publisher or artist to get permission if it is a violation?
    First I'd suggest you contact the management of the venue in which you're holding your workshop and ask if they have a performance license in place already. Many venues that commonly host such events will already have licenses in place. If they don't, then you could contact the rights-holder, but finding the correct party to speak to can be difficult, so it may be a lot easier for you to just use a track that carries no performance restrictions. There are many sites that sell royalty-free music, particularly of "generic" nature sounds and such. Search for something like "royalty free music nature sounds". If you really want that specific track, you can try contacting the record company and asking them who handles their performance rights; many labels use a clearing house.

  • Question about downloading and accessing video in FC Express.  HELP!

    Very new to Final Cut Express.... Is it possible to download video (from a Canon Vixia HD30) via firewire to an external drive then access the video footage for FC Express from that drive? Or does the footage still need to move to the computers drive? Bottom line is if possible I want to keep my main drive as clear as possible. If this is all possible any recommendations on what drives would work best for this? Any assistance you can provide is appreciated. Thank You.

    Thank You.. I guess my last question is this.. I have one firewire port.. If the external drive is attached to that I dont have a free firewire port to download the video onto that drive.. Unless I can download via USB..

  • Basic questions about downloading updates and smartnet licensing

    I have been trying to get a definitive answer to these questions by browsing around cisco.com, but so far no luck.
    1. I manage an ASA5510 for which there is no current smartnet contract.  It is running an outdated code version (8.2) of the Security Plus license.  Is it allowable to download the 8.4 image and upgrade the ASA as long as I stay within the Security Plus license, or would there be a fee?
    2. Same question in general for routers without smartnet: If I have a router running old v12.x code is is permissible to upgrade to 15.x code as long as the featureset remains the same?
    3. If I were to purchase a new ASA feature license (e.g. SSL VPN 50 users) and then install it on this ASA, would the license be recoverable if the ASA were to become unusable because of a hardware failure?
    Help on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.  All doc I have found so far either seems either contradictory or ambiguous.
    Thanks,
    -Mathew

    Answer 1:
    If you do not have a SMARTnet agreement for the device that you support, you will be unable to download updates for that device. You will need to have a CCO login with an active SMARTnet agreement for that device.
    Answer 2:
    Same answer to question 1 applies to routers. You will be unable to download updates if that device does not have an active SMARTnet agreement.
    Answer 3:
    If you add a feature, like updating the user license, you will be unable to transfer it to a new unit. This is because the license is bound to the device serial number. The new device will have a different serial number.
    Just to mention also, If you add a feature and have an active agreement, you will need to purchase a new agreement to cover that feature. The original agreement only covers the original device. If it goes bad and needs replacing, you will receive a replacement like the original. It will not contain the added license and you will be unable to install the license on the replacement unit because the license is bound to the serial number. The replacement will have a different serial number.

  • Questions about Downloading Movies from Itunes

    I have used itunes extensively for my music, but have never downloaded any movies or video. If I downloaded a movie from the Itunes store can I then burn it on to a disc. If so, it needs to be a DVD-R disc not a CD-R right? This may sound like a really dumb question, but I have never done this before. Thanks

    From the itunes store terms of service:
    "You shall not be entitled to burn video Products"

    Earlier today I asked if it would be possible to download the Windows version of Thunderbird onto a disk using my Mac. My friend just called up and said she successfully downloaded it herself. Sorry for the false alarm.

  • Newbie Question about downloading and installing Firefox

    Hello,
    I recently downloaded Firefox 2.0.0.3, got it all set up and used it for a while, I am the admin on this machine, my wife is the only other user, I logged in to her acct to make sure that FF was there, but it wasn't?? Thought maybe I should reboot, after the reboot, no firefox on my acct or hers! Completely disappeared, can anyone give me a clue as to what might be going on?
    Thanks in advance,
    oldhoghead
    cheers

    Common n00b mistake (joking about the n00b remark)
    It looks like your running the program (Firefox) from the mounted dmg file. When you download Firefox, (and many other apps) it downloads as a .dmg file. Now, you probably have dmg files set to mount automatically when downloaded which is OK. You are probably launching the program from that mounted dmg file which is not OK. Here's what you need to do:
    After the dmg file mounts, instead of double clicking it, drag it to your Applications folder and launch it from there. That's it. Oh, it'll also be available to all your machine's users as well.
    Good Luck.

  • Newby question about command line interface

    Arch is my first linux distro and havnt used others yet.
    Just wondering, does Command Line Interface looks and functions all same on other distros?
    Because, if u can chose desktop environment like KDE, GNOME and Xfce with other Linux distros as well, then what is difference between others.
    Linux is still quite hard for me and just wanted to know if there is "special" stuff that arch can do.
    To me, they all looks same with same desktop environment...
    thanks

    When you mention the "command line interface" (CLI) there are a few things involved: a terminal emulator, a shell, and the programs you have installed. That said, as far as running programs goes
    The terminal emulator is the application that hosts/shows your shell. In KDE it's (by default) Konsole, GNOME uses gnome-terminal, others might use xterm, aterm, rxvt, rxvt-unicode or one of many others. Different emulators provide some extra features (e.g. tabs) and they all differ in memory usage, speed, and integration (or not) into a given desktop environment. That said, they all pretty much work the same for launching programs and operating in a shell: you type commands and press enter.
    The shell is what runs your commands and also provides some scripting capabilities. Generally, bash seems to be the most used as a default shell. You can change your shell if you wish, as some shells provide extra features like programmable command completion. Other shells are lighter or more POSIX-compliant. For a starting user, you're well enough off just using the default (probably bash) until you find a reason for which you must have a different shell.
    Finally, the programs installed will affect what you can run in a terminal. Different distros will have different quantities of programs installed by default. (Arch's base install is very minimal.)
    Now, with regards to Linux, at the end of the day all distros are Linux with some desktop environment (DE) and some Linux apps. The DEs and applications are taken from the same source, but some distros provide patches for extra capabilities or configuation. However, if you see something you like in openSUSE, say, you can download the software, patch it, and configure your Arch to work like openSUSE. Each distro, though, has its own focus and philosophy which affects:
    * how many and what applications are installed by default
    * amount of configuration required after install
    * stable vs. bleeding edge
    You can read more about this in the wiki reference above.
    So having said all that, Arch gives you a simple, minimal base install which you can then easily customize by app installation and configuration. It is reasonably bleeding edge, meaning application updates usually make it to Arch fairly quickly. With time and knowledge you can make Arch do near anything that another distro can do, but that's not really the idea behind Arch in my opinion.
    Hope that helps,
    j

  • Questions about Downloading InDesign CS6 for WIN

    I am trying to help an employee get Adobe InDesign CS 6 installed on his Windows Computer.
    We are wondering what the difference between these three options are when you are on the Download Program Page:
    Adobe InDesign CS6 Installer for Windows (English & Japanese)
    Adobe InDesign CS6 Installer Package for Windows (English & Japanese)
    or Adobe InDesign and InCopy CS6 Content Installer for Windows (Multi-Language)?
    Are ALL of these programs necessary for him to download? He is worried about the size of some of these files, and if he is duplicating himself by downloading all three download options.
    Also,  does he need to download all three of the following files, too?  Can you tell me what each of these do?

    Hi Momadog007,
    Adobe InDesign CS6 Installer for Windows (English & Japanese)
    Adobe installer contains the extractor (.exe) that is used to extract .7z (compress) files. Size is about 1 Mb.
    Adobe InDesign CS6 Installer Package for Windows (English & Japanese
    The installer package contains the main setup file. The file is downloaded in .7z format (7z is an archive file, like .ZIP or .RAR; with similar and in many cases better compression) which we may decompressed using the previous downloaded CS6 installer or any other extraction tool such as winzip/winrar.
    Adobe InDesign and InCopy CS6 Content Installer for Windows (Multi-Language)
    The content installer contains some additional fonts that you may copy in the font folder in Windows
    You may simply download the Installer package and extract it with winzip/winrar or with the extractor available as a part of first download.

  • Question about downloading and editing images from sd card

    I know you can use an sd card connector kit to download images to the newè iPads. A few questions:
    My sd card has both a raw and jpeg version of each image, but I only want to download the jpegs. Since I believe the iOS doesn't show file extensions, how can I identify just the jpeg images?
    Once on the ipad, where are the photos placed?
    Can you create separate folders and place certain images in them?
    And if you edit an image and save it as a different file, can I place it in a folder I've created?

    This is an iPad question and should be posted in the iPad discussion which is located here:

  • I have questions about downloading adobe flash player.

    I am concerned about the security of installing a downloaded Adobe Flash Player. I can no longer play videos from Facebook or Youtube - it says blocked image. I was given a notice to update Adobe. When I downloaded it I got the yellow warning that it was an application downloaded from the internet and to be cautious. When I went ahead to install it, I was asked for my password so "Adobe flash player can make changes". Is that normal or does this sound fishy. I haven't done that yet!

    1. Click here.
    2. That's the open installer. The icon will disappear when you quit it.

  • Install cd isn't recognised, question about downloading from s

    Hi there!
    We bought a Zen V Plus, 4 gig yesterday and I installed the cd on my computer no problem. Our laptop is not recognizing the install cd for some reason. The cd dri've is fine and we can play games, listen to music but it doesn't like the install cd. It's a winxp service pack 2 laptop.
    We downloaded the driver from the site but I'm wondering about media source 5. Do we get the one that's on that page? It seems that it's media source 3 or something.
    Thanks for the help

    You can try cleaning your installation CD to see whether it hel
    ps.
    If it doesn't, then the next best thing your can do is to duplicate the CD using the other system that you have (assuming that you have a CDR dri've in the other system).

  • I have a question about downloading and itunes on TWO computers.

    Where I work I have really fast internet, perfect for downloading movies, etc.  At home, in the sticks, I have slow internet.  Is there any way to rent/buy media on my work computer itunes (Win) to take home (say on my iPhone) and sync with my Mac iTunes?
    Thanks!

    Bartybar wrote:

    Hmm, not sure this will help, but let's try...
    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
    Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
    I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
    As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.

  • Interactive Reports - Question about Downloading PDF, CSV, Email, etc

    I recently installed the latest version of APEX. I deployed it as an EAR on Oracle WebLogic. I then created a simple
    interactive report that has the search bar above the report. The downloads (emailing, pdf, etc) do not work after I
    run the report.
    What setup\configuration is required to get the emailing and downloading of the other files to work?
    fyi: right now I have Oracle WebLogic, Oracle 10g, and APEX running locally on a XP based laptop.
    Thank you in advance,

    Hello Wes,
    Sending a report as an email requires an SMTP server. You need to configure your instance settings to point to the SMTP server.
