Newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to MacBook.

My newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to my MacBook at all. All has worked fine until yesterday. All cables and USB port check out fine with older iPod. Touch still works beautifully but charge is dwindling. Since it's not recognized by MacBook no charge icons show up. I ran the trouble shooting pages in Apple Support, did all the resets, repaired permissions, reinstalled iTunes, etc. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!

Whenyou plug the iPod into the computer via USB does the iPod's screen show the iPod is charging? (The computer has to be on)
Look at the dock connecort on the iPod and compare it with the dock connector for the iPod that does work. Look for foreign material, bent, broken or corroded contacts and other abnormalities.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Ipod touch no longer connecting to wifi/internet

Have had my ipod touch for over a year. Just yesterday it stopped connecting to the internet/our wifi router. We have a 1TB time capsule that it has been connecting to fine but not anymore. Our mac mini and laptop still connect to it, but not the ipod touch. I have tried forgetting the network and resetting the network but still no luck. Any suggestions??

Start by rebooting your TC (remove the power plug). After that comes back up, try it again, and, if the problem is still there, reset your touch network settings.
When you touch restarts, tap Settings > WiFi > Other and re-enter your network name, security setting, and network password.
If your problem persists, try to find/connect to other networks. If it doesn't detect or connect to anything else, you most likely have a hardware problem and will have to either repair or replace the touch.

Keeping my iPod Touch 32 GB Connected to WiFi

I just bought a new 32GB iPod Touch today and I set it all up nice. The only problem I seem to be coming across is it staying on the WiFi network after sleep mode. I can connect to the network, which is hidden and requires and WEP password. But it will not auto-reconnect after I wake it from sleep mode and as such I must keep putting in the WEP pass again and again. Any help is much appriciated.

New iPod Touch won't connect to wifi

I recently purchased three 32GB iPod Touch's for my children for Christmas. I'm trying to set them up ready to go, but one of them just won't connect to my wifi. The other two have no trouble, connected immediately. Can anyone shed some light on this or do I need to make an appointment at the apple store? I have tried to reset the network settings, it has made no difference unfortunately.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

New Ipod Touch will not connect or sync

I recently got a replacement Ipod Touch. I connected it to my computer and can see it in the My Computer window, however Itunes cannot connect or sync to it. It's not there. I have another Ipod Touch, it connects but will not Itunes does not recognize it when it comes to syncing. I have followed the directions on the help list. Nothing is helping. The new Ipod does connect and sync with another computer but my music is on this one. HELP!

Just wait a bit. Turn it off, then back on.
I don't know why, but after the update it doesn't show up right away.
When it finally does, you will find a red icon on the bottom of the screen, on the left side.

I would first remove and reinstall all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
The drivers in windows that sees the iPod as a camera is different that the drivers that see the iPod in iTunes.

Ipod touch no longer charges with USB nor does it output sound through the connector

2 problems after the latest iOS update:
(1) my 3rd generation iPod Touch no longer changes when connected to the computer through the USB connection. It says that the device is not supported for connection through USB. My computer is running Snow Leopard and all software is up to date.
(2) it also does not output sound through my clock radio nor through the built-in ipod connection in my MINI.
This all worked great until the latest iOS update. Something broke in the latest update.

You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem then the iOS broke full compatibility. you have to then wait for either Apple to fix the problem in an iOS update or for Honda to fix it via a firmware update/

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode or Just Need to Restore Your Device
1. iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
2. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
3. iOS- Understanding passcodes
     If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
     below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
     simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
     same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). IPod Will no Longer Connect to iTunes 10.22.. Help!

Hello everyone! Today I decided to update my itunes to the latest version ( 10.22). BEfore I updated, I made sure to sync my ipod. Everything worked fine. Ipod connected, it sync, and etc... But after I updated to 10.22, my iPod will no longer connect. My Windows xP reads the iPod, but not iTunes. What should I do, becuase I need to sync my new settings to my iPod!

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
