Newest update not working well?

I seem to be having a couple of issues with my phone that just started as of today.
First issue is that, it appears as though the iMessage feature isn't working properly. However, every day before that it was working just fine. I checked in my settings and it says that iMessage is turned on, but when I text someone who I know has iMessage turned on, it sends it as a regular text message. My sister said that it's doing that for her on her phone as well; we both have brand new 4S (that are both totally updated) phones that aren't even a week old yet. I went back into settings to double check that iMessage was on, and it had turned itself off. I turned it back on, then off, and then tried to turn it back on again, and it said that an error occured during activation, please try again; the messages are still being sent as regular texts. When I go into settings to look at iMessage, it says "Waiting for activation..."
The second issue that I'm having is with my contacts. For certain contacts, I have nicknames set for them. When one of them called me, it said "Nickname, or Full Name is calling" It's showing two names when a contact calls me, and I'm not sure why it's doing that, because, again, this is the first time this has cropped up. I do not have my contacts linked up with Facebook, so I have no clue. My sister is also having the same issue on her phone as well. So we're both having problems with no idea what to do about it. My sister's phone isn't showing the nicknames she has for people at all, just the full names of people. This was working just fine yesterday. When she texts me, it pulls up as my full name, not the nickname she had set for me. When she texts me from the nicknamed contact, it sends messages, but I don't get them. Is anyone else having issues like this as well? If so, is there a way to fix this?
At random times, the brightness will also dim for ome reason on the phone with no warning. I don't have auto brightness turned on, and the scroller is all the way up. I know this is a long discussion, but I need some help.

It will be in the Purchases tab of the Mac App Store Application so lomg as you are sigtned in using the same Apple ID you used to purchase LPX in the first place. The version will be 10.0.5

The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

How do I know if this update is appropriate for Windows Vista? I have done updates before, only to discover that they did not work well with Vista.

I keep getting a message that I need to update to firefox version 7. I can't find any information to help me know if this version is compatible with Vista. I did an "automatic" update in the past, and needed to uninstall it because it did not work well with Vista. firefox is not giving me any info regarding this - it just says install it.

Open the multitasking window by double-tapping the Home button. Close all the apps that are open. You can then try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

New FocusTraversalPolicy Mechanism Does Not Work Well With OO Designs

I would like to complain about the new focus traversal mechanism not working well with object-oriented GUI designs.
Specifically, we have many reusable panel classes that can be swapped in and out of reusable dialog classes. On some of these panels, the default focus traversal is not what is desirable, perhaps because one component on the right side of the window is just slightly higher than a component on the left side, maybe due to the component on the right having a label on top, and so the default focus goes to the component on the right instead of the left. So we have a need to be able to explicitly define the order of components in some panels.
If I try to define a focus traversal policy in the panel's constructor, a NullPointerException is thrown because the panel's focus cycle root is null (the panel has not been added to any dialog or frame yet).
If I try to associate a focus traversal policy at the dialog level, it would have to explicitly reference its child panels' inner components, which would break the encapsulation of the panels. It would also make it hard to have generic dialog classes into which various reusable panel objects can be swapped.
Someone suggested making each panel a focus cycle root. This makes it hard to "break out" of one panel to move on to the next panel in the dialog. Special keys would have to be assigned to try to cycle out, and these keys would have to be different than the normal traversal keys, making them inconsistent and nonintuitive to the user. Also, the focus policy would have to know if the dialog had more than one panel, what order the panels were in to know whether to cycle to the next panel or not, etc. This is a mess.
Does anyone have any idea how to get around these problems? I have tried using a global focus policy with a global hash map of prev/next component key-value pairs, but we are still running into trouble with some deeply nested tabbed dialogs. It's just not possible to always have the focus cycle root in existence at the point where you want to explicitly define traversal between two components, or when you are trying to establish the default component for a panel in a tabbed pane.

I agree completely. One of the popular consultants on this forum stated that the new focus mechanism was more versatile and only a little more complex. I would say it's more than a little complex given the trouble average programmers are having understanding how it works...at least at first...and after understanding it realizing that they are going to have type their fingers off to update their code. Oh, and the dread of maintaining this awful mess.
I'm currently having the same problem as you Robbie. Some of my reusable panels need special tab ordering...that's not usually a problem, in most programming environments, till now. Now I have to go around the world and back just to get my stupid cursor to be in the right place when I hit the tab key??!!! and special key mappings just to get out of a focus cycle...lame.
And how is an IDE graphical designer going to work with this? It's not, that's how...ok maybe if some kind person or company creates a custom focus traversal policy editor of some kind, I don't know.
Good grief Sun! We need something to help us meet our deadlines, not solutions that force us to spend 80% of our time customizing every stinking bit of UI functionality we need!!!
JTables are even worse. I've mastered most of the garbage that is JTable after many months of pain and I don't know how I'm going to help my peers understand them in any short amount of time. Most of them were Oracle Forms programmers, not that that is any great solution either. But they will likely have problems.
In conclusion, I wish I had chosen another UI technology for our new product client, and may yet.

Fan is not working well of a pavilion g6

when starting up my laptop, it reports that my fan is not working well and when it remains on for about 10minutes it starts to be hot at the position where the fan is located. the problem just started.

could you sense the fan is running by hearing and hot air blow out from air vent?
1) if fan is running and running faster when hot, it means fan is working. please check if anything block the air vent or air intake. only Air can flow freely, it can cooling down the CPU.
2) If Fan is running and air vent is not block and unit is been used long time, maybe the dust. if you have skill, please clean dust, it need remove some cover to disclose fan/heatsink.
3) update BIOS to latest. of course Fan need to replaced if it is not run, but the running Fan usually don't need to be replaced.

My Ipone 3gs do not work well with iOS 6, can I go back to an earlier version?

I have always (maybe stupid!) updated my iOS version when itunes has proposed it, thinking my old iPhone 3 should work better. It is now clear for me that it is not the case!
Can I go back to an earlier version so I can use the phone as it was meant to work?
Have read something about if you have not save the "protocol" from an earlier version it is impossible!
The question is also justified for all my other iPhones and Pad in my family, should I stop updates iOS versions on them as oblivious thy are becoming useless with the time, or?

I'm surprised to hear that your 3gs is working well!
My main reason to continue with my 3 gs (I have a iphone 5 also) is to use the GPS function in it. but from the moment I upgrade it to iOS 6.0.1 the GPS is not working well. I can not say if it is becase it is too slove or something is not supporting it. It does not matter if I use it in combination with Google Maps our my TomTom app.
It is loosing the GPS all the time.
The second problem is also that the 3gs is not working anymore in the TomTom car mounth holder.
TomTom are making them so they are only working for iphone 3 (so my other 2 iphone 4 have never worked in it, but it is in that way).
I do not know if it is the TomTom software which is not supported by iOS6 or what...
As I can only use the holder for my 3gs it is awast if the mobil is not working...

Touch pad not working well

My notebook is HP Pavilion 13 Notebook PC, and the problem revealed just before I bought this new notebook.
This notebook run really well on other function except the touch pad, it not working well caused by the following problems.
When using the touch pad, occasionally, it will return to the place that I move a second ago.
Then, the computer will take it as a click on that place instead of movement.
Eventually, it click on the starting place mistakenly.
I am wonder these is a hardware problem and it may caused by a software problem too, holp someone could help me to solve these problem.

It appears that you're tocuhpad is causing some issues. I will attempt to assist you with this.
If this is a new notebook, make sure you've run all Windows updates and completed any updates listed in the HP Support Assistant.
Something may address that issue.
This may also have something that could help you: Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8).

i believe there is a way to revert to an older os if you still have the file on your pc...if not then you'll have to take it up with apple...maybe they can give you a link to an older version...do not follow the links on google, for most of these have a malware hidden within...i found this out the hard way

(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

After un-installing, run this program to make sure you got all the pieces.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Mac Book Software Update not working, iTune will not update because of that, iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes because iTunes is not updated. Mac v.10.5.8, iTunes v.10.5.2, iPhone4 iOS 6

Mac Book Software Update not working (Software Update does not have any new software for your computer at this time), my current MacBook version is 10.5.8.
As a result I can't update iTunes, version 10.5.2 (This software requiers Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later)
Now when I connect my iPhone 4, version iOS 6 iTunes can't connect to iPhone (The iPhone "XXXXX's iPhone" cannot be used because it requiers iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.)
so in a nutshell can't use iphone 4, because iTune is not updated and will not update because Mac Book is not up to date and will not update either.

Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade. http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 Call Apple to buy Snow Leopard. Then, make a backup, insert the DVD and upgrade. When it finishes, open  > Software Update

If you are referring to online gaming, then PS3 like all non-apple devices uses upnp to open ports.
Apple uses NAT-PMP to open ports.. East and West.. never the twain shall meet.
If it is internal wireless issues.. that is different.. airport should be just like any other wireless router.
If you tell us the issue we have more hope to help.
