Newest version firefox 33.02.2 32-bit lost all my settings and I mean all of them

I have Windows 7 Professional 32-bit Service Pack 1 and before new firefox update to 33.02.2 I had all settings in firefox set and working just fine, bookmarks, add-ons and extensions just the way I wanted it to be and customized the menu just the way I wanted ........ then after update ..... everything was gone like I had done nothing at all. End of story. I am not a programmer, so I do not have a clue why this happen this time nor do I know how to go about fixing this insanity. Never expected this to happen but it did. I cannot see how this version is better at all. Everything worked before and now everything is all gone the best I can tell. I do not know why??? So any detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated as me wading through a 100 pages or more not even knowing what or why this happen in the first place is a little crazy. Any additional information I will be more than happy to provide. I did not have any control over this at all. I have never seen anything like this in my 50 years as a support technician and as fast as this happen. Incredible.

Firefox uses the profiles.ini file to find the default profile, so if anything has gone wrong with this file then Firefox may have created a new profile.
It is also possible that Firefox was reset and that something when wrong with transferring data to the new profile.
You can check if there is only one profile folder in the location that Firefox uses for the profile folders.
You can also check if there in an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
