Newly installed Logic Express will not open

I bought a 15-inch MacBook Pro and Logic Express 9 today. I was able to install Logic smoothly, but when I looked for it in my Applications folder, it appeared as a crossed-out AppleWorks icon. When I try to open it, I get the following error message:
"You can't open the application Logic Express because it is damaged or incomplete."
I installed it again and I got the same error message. Do I need to get it replaced, or is there a step in the process that I missed?

I didn't register, I don't have my wireless internet set up for the Mac yet.
And I don't have Snow Leopard, I just have regular Mac OS X. Do I need Snow Leopard to run LE9?

Newly installed Elements 11 will not open without restarting the PC each time.

Using Windows 7 I uninstalled Elements8 and installed new Elements 11 but if I close down Elements 11 it will not reopen unless I restart the PC each time. Also I cannot uninstall E11 because I get message that "thumbdatabase.db3" is in use, so I cannot reinstall to see if that will solve the proble. Please help?

You simply need to find out which process is keeping those files open/ blocked. In fact it's quite likely that your PSE never quits correctly due to some issue on your system and that keeps those files in use...

Logic 9 will not open after mavericks installation

Hi!, I have recently installed mavericks, now logic 9 will not open. At all .I tried to update Logic, and am now running version 9.8.1. Still the exact same outcome, any help as to what may be the problem would be greatly appreciated!

You need to copy and paste up the entire crash log and not just the small part you posted, for anyone here to be able to assist you, if possible.
in the meantime, are you using maverick compatible drivers for your audio device, if you are using one?

Installed Itunes and will not open

I have installed and uninstall itunes on my Laptop mulitiple times and it will not open up. I have tried to run it as administrator, repairing it, unistalling it and reinstalling and it will not open. Is there an error or problem with the windows version for this to keep happening?

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

Error message after install-now iPhoto will not open

After installing iPhoto, a message asks to upgrade the library. Soon, a message says
There is a problem in your iPhoto library folder. In the finder, select the iPhoto Library Folder. Then choose file > Get Info. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions for the folder and then apply this setting to all the enclosed items.
All you can do is quit after this message
Easy prompts, that I have followed, and now I do have read and write permissions selected, without any change. Iphoto sill will not open.

TS1702 apps install ok but will not open ????

Downloaded many apps on 3 network but although they install they will not open. OK when with o2

The network the device is connected to has absolutely nothing to do with apps working or not.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

Installed Acrobat Pro XI on Win 7, 64 bit. Program installed fully, but will not open or run.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. Downloaded reader, no help. Adobe will not support by phone. What do I do?

I have done just that - I ran the cleaner and removed Acrobat entirely. Did a fresh install. Everything looked fine, was able to enter my serial number successfully, and got a successful install message. Yet when I try to open the program, it will bring up a box briefly which then disappears and the program does not launch. Subsequent attempts do not even bring up the box. No program running in task manager. This is version 11.0.07, running on Windows 7, 64 bit. I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was obtained through TechSoup.org.

Recently switched to Firefox. WMV files in Outlook Express will not open. Message: NEED CODEX.

"CODEX acquired" appears in lower left of screen, but file does not open. I think it did work before , when I use Internet Explorer.

Newly installed OS X will not start up on new hard drive

Hello helpers,
I have many problems with my Power book g4 titanium. Most critical: I have just replaced my Hard drive with a new 120 gb. I also, purchased a new dvd OS X 10.4 full retail version. I installed it onto the new hard drive. It loaded properly and said to restart. Well thats it. It will not restart. It acts like it is going to restart. But, all I get is the apple with a little wheel timer thing. I waited for several hours and that is all it does. Please help.

I suggest you re-prep your new drive then reinstall OS X.
Extended Hard Drive Preparation
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disk. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.)
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button and select the Apple Partition Map scheme, then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
When formatting has completed and the new volume has re-mounted on the Desktop quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed to install OS X.

I just upgraded my Ram to 8 gigabytes, hoping that would solve a problem in loading Logic X. The problem started when I had Logic X on my laptop and tried to open Logic X on my desktop. Since then, Logic X will not open on my desk top.

Logic X is installed on my desktop and my laptop. I had Logic X open on my desktop as I was backing up my music, and accidentally accessed some Logic music that had been stored on my desktop. Logic X works fine on the laptop, but freezes during installation on the desktop. I increased my Ram to 8 gigs, but the problem is still there.
Also, Ableton Live 9 Suite has the same problem...
Could it be that my version of Logic X has been corrupted and that I need to re-load it...and how do you do that since it has already been downloaded???

I found out that I had a panic kernelling problem...and it had to do with audio plug ins. The cause of this was that I was trying to make more room on my computer and deleted a lot of files, which caused the headache. I re-loaded the software that came with the computer...that is when I saw the kernel problem...and then, I called Apple support because my computer then locked up. I was able to restore the computer from a previous backup...however, the problem that I created took almost all day and late into the evening to correct. Now that everything is up and running, I decided not to try to delete any more files, and will back up my work whenever I can.
By the way, what is the LPX program and how does that work?

Dreamweaver crashed and would not reopen. Uninstalled, and re-installed and still will not open files or open any start options.

When I would use command + Z more than 2 times in a row, Dreamweaver would crash. It generally would just start back up. This time it did not. I looked on many forums and tried a bunch of things from restarting the computer, to un/re-installing the program. One forum told me to clear the cache but when i follow the folders in finder, half of them don't even exist.
When I try to open the program after reinstalling it, the icon will only jump once, and this appears in the corner: but no other options to open anything.
Has anyone else come across this and found a solution?

Final Cut Express will not open!

I have Final Cut Express HD on a MacBook with OSX 10.4.11. It used to work fine but suddenly the application will begin to launch and then just close while still at the loading screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled hoping this would help and still it does the same thing. I don't know what else to do does anyone have any suggestions? Also, sometimes it gives me the error message: Unable to locate the following devices: Apple firewire NTSC (720x480). This never used to happen and I assume it is part of the problem.

Has it started happening AFTER you updated to OSX 10.4.11 (or installed some other program or update) ? What version of QuickTime are you using ?

Chrome Extension Converted & Installed Successful - but will not open.

I have tried both installation methods for the smart waiver extensions.
1. Using the smart waiver extension code as listed in the Chrome store

2. Downloading and converting the CRX extension file
In both instances, I was able to convert to Firefox compatibility, and it even installed in the add ons extensions area for Firefox. However, the icon to open the extension does not show.
I've already tried the following:
1. making sure the add-on tool bar was checked
2. Customizing the toolbar, but the icon didn't show
3. Restoring defaults int he customizing toolbar, icon still did not show
4. Restore firefox to defaults
5. Checked that I wasn't in a security or privacy setting that would disallow the task
So I'm at a loss - I've tried other Chrome extensions to test. I've converted them successfully, and got them into the same add-on extension screen installed in firefox. But no way to open the extension, and the icons are never recognized.

Solution: The Redneck Tuneup for Windows
1) With the transmission in neutral, hold the gas pedal all the way down to the floor for 1 minute.
2) Restart the computer.
