Newsletter creation and CSS export in Adobe Fireworks

I am a new to adobe fireworks and am currently in the trial mode of my download.
I was advised that Adobe FIreworks CS6 is the ideal program to create graphics and text to build a newsletter for my company.
Not knowing much about the program, I was able to add graphics, text and hotspots on specific images and text with an html link for customers to be able to click to sign up for the newsletter via our website.
The million dollar question I have is how in the world do I export this document and paste it into the "body" of an email to send to 5k contacts?
I do not want an attachment, I want the body fo the email to be html or css coded, but I know nothing about either of the two or how to do it.
I did find one video that walked me thru the export css process, but none of my images were shown and 90% of the text was missing.
I believe I need to understand "layers" to get this to work properly but could really use some help!
I am dangerously close to missing out on advertising to all 5k contacts before the holiday. Please help!!
BTW - the reason for doing this instead of using standard mailchimp or constant contact is because I purchased my email list and those are forbidden in both constant contact and mailchimp hence why i need to create my own opt-in newsletter to get people to opt-in via my website.
Thanks in Advance!!

Seriously, do not use Fireworks to generate the html for your webpage.  It is graphics program with *some* html capabilites, but I would never use it for a live site.  It is always best to create the layout in Fireworks, slice it up as for use as individual images, or uses 'pieces' for background images and write the markup (html + css) in Dreamweaver or a HTML editor of your choice.
This tutorial may help you make the transition.  Naturally it helps to have at least a basic knowledge of html and css before working with Dreamweaver, it will make using DW so much easier.

  • Concept to html and css export in FWCS5

    Hi,
I'm trying to "play" with the image to html/css for website design.
    I have a site http://bhbws.com/fairy/index02.php
that I'd like to try this out on.  I have several issues...
when I go to export it's exporting as .tiff and I can't find in the preferences where to change this.
how do I export it when I have "simple rollovers" for the navigation??
I think I can figure out the rest...
    TIA

After adding slices to your document, use the Optimize panel to select image formats for the slices and compression levels. When finished, choose File > Export. In the Export dialog window, choose export as CSS and images, or HTML and images. Export to your predefined Dreamweaver site.

  • Advised to use Adobe Fireworks

    Hi;
I am doing the Adobe Dreamweaver CS5  "Classroom in a book".
It recommends, in a couple of places, using Adobe Fireworks. On one occasion for roughing out a new design for presentation to a client, and elsewhere for image manipulation. (It was also suggesting Photoshop for producing a full sized mockup).
There is even a tip: "For years designers have started the design process in Fireworks, where they create a fully functioning mockup with menus, links and hotspots that can then be exported to a CSS-based HTML layout and edited in Dreamweaver"
Whilst reading these excellent Forums, I'm pretty sure that I saw one that suggested Fireworks was "toxic".
Any thoughts, please? Should I be looking to get Fireworks?
    Bob

As already stated, use whichever graphics app you feel most comfortable with for mock-ups and optimizing images.
Use DW to build your web site.

  • Linking Adobe Fireworks to Filezilla

So I have had my recently had my website built essexminibuses24.co.uk but i would like to be able to edit some of the images on the website with fireworks, I have seen an option in filezilla ftp program to put the path of the fireworks.exe file into, so when i click edit it will automatically open in fireworks, can anybody help me in finding the path to fireworks so i can get this running. i am running windows vista home edition and i am running adobe fireworks cs5. Also any tips about creating vector paths in fireworks as i am a newbie to computers. Thanks

    1) Open Filezilla
    2) Edit-->Settings
    3) File editing-->Filetype associations
    4) add these lines:
    png "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS6\Fireworks.exe" -open
    jpg "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS6\Fireworks.exe" -open
    5) click OK
Now, any jpg or png can be view and edited directly in Fireworks by right-mouse clicking an jpg or png file, and choosing "View/Edit".
Editing the image and saving it, will prompt Filezilla with a question whether you wish to upload it. Confirming this will overwrite the original on the server.
HOWEVER: this is a bad idea. You should not work like that. Instead, first download the files which you wish to edit to a separate folder on your system. Then create a duplicate. Work with the duplicate, and when you are finished, save the file as a Fireworks PNG. Then export the new version in Fireworks as either png or jpg, and upload it to the server.
Working in this way ensures that you do not lose the original, or that you make mistakes you cannot correct. Always work with copies of the original files, and avoid working directly with them through Filezilla. Merely viewing files through Filezilla is not a problem, though.
If you are a complete beginner, I would suggest you read any book about Windows Vista fundamentals, and get the "Fireworks CS5 Classroom in a book" book.
    http://www.amazon.ca/Adobe-Fireworks-CS5-Classroom-Book/dp/0321704487
However, you should realize Fireworks is a dead application: it is no longer actively supported or developed by Adobe since May 2013.

  • Redownload adobe fireworks

How do i find my Adobe account and re download my Adobe Fireworks.

To see if it is available thru your account go to the main Adobe site and sign in where it says "Sign in to My Adobe".  THat will open to your account where you can look to see if there are links for the software you own.  You can also probably download the applications else where in the Adobe site and use your serial number to activate it (the serial number should be in your account info if you registered it).  Here is a link to the main download page for older versions...

  • Exporting "CSS and images (.htm.)" from Fireworks CS4?

Is this an effective process for developing CSS based layouts? Are there any proven tricks to improve the quality of the resulting structure?

It's a starting point, but it does not exempt you from understanding
XHTML and CSS. Currently there are some limitations to what the script
will export: it ignores additional states, javascript behaviors and
won't export more than 1 page at a time. Keep in mind this is just the
"first kick" and we'll no doubt see this feature embellished.
I recommend that you download and read about the updated CSS and
Images export script, modified by Matt Stow. You can find the new
    script and his article here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/standards_compliant_design.html
The article also provides some tips on how to best plan your designs
if you plan to use the script.

  • CSS Export for Fireworks 8

Yes, in Dreamweaver you can use the CSS panel to move rules
    from one
style sheet to another, or you can simply open the CSS files
    themselves
within DW and copy/paste as needed.
That said, pay careful attention that you aren't duplicating
    or
overwriting classes you need which are in the original CSS
    file.
Depending on what you are doing, you may just want to stick
    with one CSS
export from Fireworks, and then add any additional rules
    manually within
    Dreamweaver.

  • Exporting Newsletter (PDF) and viewing for Mac and PC Users?

    Hi,
I am trying to create a monthly newsletter for my business that can be sent on mass to various clients. Using pages, I save it as a PDF and when sent to MAC mail users, it appears in their inbox as a full 'page newsletter'.
PC users just get a pdf attatchment and no full page/email newsletter.
Being new to this and guessing its a cross platform issue, is there a way to make the newsletter appear in full in either 'inbox' or do I hav to go down the htm route?
    Thanks:)
    Mike

    I second Sagesse.
As far as I know, there is no problem with the PDF you are creating. Rather, the email client that a person uses to view your email.
Mail.app on the Mac, for instance, shows images, PDFs, and other media inline with the rest of the message. Other clients, particularly web-based ones, often show media separate from the message as an attachment.
Most companies and groups that send out newsletters via email do so with HTML and CSS, the same language as a normal web page. Pages no longer has the capability to export to HTML, but even if it did, the resulting files/code would likely look *a lot* different than you intended, due to the nature of a print document versus that of a web page.

  • How i prevent text converting into image when exporting as a HTML FORMAT IN ADOBE FIREWORKS?

]I am an architect and wants to design my basic website with minimum graphics.
I am using coreldraw for graphics design but it is related to print (Hardcopies) and corel is not smart soft compared to adobe software.
So, for web design, I started to learn Fireworks. After some practice, i m able to design web graphics in fireworks.
But the main problem is that, when that page is exported into html format. All text were converted into Image and it is not useful.

Fireworks was devdeloped to use with Dreamweaver. It's not a stand alone app for developing web pages. Adobe Muse might be more the kind of app you are looking for. First, however, Give this tutorial a try.

  • Relationship of Fireworks and CSS?

In using Fireworks to design web pages for a site can the common elements for text and layout be converted to a CSS external sheet in Fireworks?

Fireworks is a Web graphics - layout/design - prototyping application. It is not a code authoring application. (Dreamweaver, on the other hand, is a very good code authoring application.)
So, yes, you can export CSS from Fireworks, but it's very ugly and you will probably have to put in more time and effort figuring out which style is which, renaming styles reasonably, and sorting into an external sheet than you'd put in if you just wrote the external sheet from scratch in an application that is better suited to the task.

  • Fireworks cs5 & CSS export

hi, I recently watched the video with the new features of Fireworks CS6 and I liked that CSS code extraction that has (http://forums.adobe.com/community/fireworks/post!input.jspa?containerType=14&container=223 1). I'm currently having the CS5.5 (Fireworks CS5) collection on my computer, so I wonder whether its possible to add somehow this feature in this version I'm having too as an update or exchange.

Sadly, the functionality of the CSS3 Mobile Pack was recently disabled for CS5 users—so even if you'd been able to download it, it would no longer be working. (True, it was an Adobe Labs feature, but it was also being used to promote Fireworks CS5, which makes their decision to disable it a questionable move, in my opinion.)

  • Is there a way to export photo images and their metadata from Adobe Bridge to MS excel?

Is there a plugin, or script that allows photos and their metadata to be exported from Adobe Bridge to Microsoft excel?

I would like to see the description with the image when it is attached to an email.  I would also like to be able to create a DVD of the images that would include the descriptions when the DVD is played back.
For that you will need iDVD to create a slideshow of the images and then display either the Title, Description or both as shown below and then burn to disk creating a video DVD to play on a TV set:
If you want the description on the image itself you'll need to use a 3rd party editor like one of those below or the free watermark iPhoto plugin, BorderFX.
Some Image Editors That Support layers:
    Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac - $79
    GraphicConverter - $40
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free
    GIMP for Mac - Free

  • Where can I buy and upload older versions of Adobe Fireworks for my Mac? I can't afford the latest versions.

Hi. I love working on Fireworks. I use it to tweak pictures for web letters. I had the latest full version at my previous company but is now on my own and can't afford the latest version. Is there anyway of loading an older Adobe Fireworks version for my Macbook for a bit cheaper?

The latest (and forever last) version is CS6 - it is a dead product, and no longer maintained or supported by Adobe.
It is actually quite hard to find the purchase link now:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html?start=10
It will cost you $299 - but honestly, I would stay away from FW at this point. You are investing money in a dead application, and there is a good chance that it will no longer function properly on your mac in a few years time.
It may be a better idea to get something like Sketch: Sketch 3
    Or affinity Designer: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/
    Affinity Designer is only $49.
