Newsletter links

Hi.
I am creating a newsletter in iWeb. What i do is that i put all images and text in a "Text Box". I also put all my links in the text box.
When i publish the page online the links are fully visible and functional.
When i send the page in an email to gmail i can't see the links or they will make the page look all messed up.
Does anybody know of a way to fix this?

If you do a 'select all' and 'copy' of the webpage in Safari and 'paste' in the e-mail body then you'll see the links in Gmail. But the lay-out will be distorted.
I use Thunderbird from Mozilla http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
You can insert HTML code in the body.
The content of the mail will look exactly the same as the website version.
Note : make sure that :
- the website page is not to wide to show in a e-mail window
- the links have the full URL (not relative links)

PDFs...how do I do this example?

I have a web site that was not constructed with Dreamweaver.
Someone else did it for me. I've since been editing my site with at
first Contribute 3 and now Contribute CS3. I'm trying to become
more independant from my developer and do more and more things
myself.
However I'm permitting a friend to use my site for posting
his newsletter, with archives to past issues. They're all PDFs.
I've tried Editing that portion of the site "The Great Escape" but
Contribute won't let me...the way I'm used to editing the rest of
the site. It would take me forever to explain what I'm referring to
so here's my web site. When, or if, you have a chance to take a
peek at it and explain how to do what is there by myself I'd very
much appreciate it.

My apologies, I misstated my question I guess. In the Edit
mode I double clicked on the GreatEscape icon which opened up into
an Image Properties window. What I would actually like to do is to
be able to have the newsletter man send me PDFs of future issues
for me to post on the GreatEscape site and archive the old ones. I
was hoping I could merely copy and paste the newer issues as they
came to me. I'm sure it's more complicated than that though.
I don't know what program he used to construct the site but
have been very successful, thanks to Contribute, to edit the site

Strange Navigation Bar Behavior

Hi, I'm currently designing a web page for non-profit
government organization.
Unfortunately, I'm running into some strange behavioral
problems with the navigation bar.
The tabs in my navigation bar run from left to right. As the
links are visited through the navigation bar, the links to the left
of which ever link is active stop working. I can't for the life of
me figure out why!
The pages are arranged in such a way that each page involves
three html files. One body file, one navigation bar file with it's
respective tab hilighted, and a little file that simply loads the
two, one on top of the other. The tabs in the navigation bar are
linked to the file that then loads the body and navigation(of
course). Clicking on a tab to the right of the active tab loads
everything perfectly. However, if the active tab is the right-most
tab, the tabs to the left no longer work properly. They seem to
reload the navigation bar, but the body gets left behind and the
URL still appears to be that of the right-most tab.

By going through the four tabs at the top, you can quickly
see things are going wrong.
The drop-down menu can be used to access the same pages that
the navigation bar refuses to load.
If you could please take a look at the site and reply with
any comments or suggestions as to what might be going wrong or what
I could do to fix it, I would be very grateful.
Note that I previously read something about strange
navigation bar behavior being caused by image names beginning with
numbers. This isn't what's happening here as my image names are all
"image 1" etc.
Also note that I'm using dreamweaver8

Well thanks for the suggestion, but that's not actually the

those tabs are correct, because I can see from hovering over the
tabs that they're pointing in the right direction, and if it's the
policies page(leftmost tab at the top) I'm on, all the tabs to the
right work perfectly. The problem is that when I'm on any other
page (such as the M.R. page which is the rightmost tab), all the
tabs to the left of it mysteriously stop working!
As I said, just quickly click back and forth through the four
tabs at the top of the page and you'll see what the problem is. In
fact, completely ignore everything that isn't those four tabs at
the top of the page, because everything else is unfinished.

Strange desktop image behavior

Hello,
I have 2 admin accounts on my mac right now, each with it's own desktop image. Everything works fine except during the user-switching animation. From one account to the other, everything is smooth: both desktop images rotate with the cube.
But from the other way around it's different: during rotation, the desktop image from the account I'm switching into is the basic Apple Blue image. But as soon as the rotation is complete, the desktop image I chose suddenly appears.
So from account 1 to account 2 it's always ok, but from 2 to 1 I always get a temporary apple blue image.
Any idea why?

The linked text boxes are very important to my work flow. Not being able to flow text between pages has cost me a lot of valuable time in producing my newsletter. Any ideas?

In Pages 09 I was able to flow text between text boxes on the same page and to different pages but that seems to have gone away. This is one of the most useful items in Pages that I use. Now it seems to have gone away and I could find no replacement in doing my last newsletter, (which took at least 3 times as long to produce.) I am very disappointed in Pages 13 so far and look for some bright side to this software to change my opinion.

Apple has promised to bring back *some* features "within six montha." We're 4 months into the clock. They have brought back a couple of features (ability to cutomize the toolbar, for instance, and vertical ruler). But they still have a long way to go and there is no certainty that linked text boxes will be restroed. It wasn't cited in their original list of examples of what would be brought back. (Nor was mail merge, bookmarks, Applescript support, or many other items.)

Inserting a link to access a PDF in a Pages newsletter?

I am creating a newsletter and would like to include some forms and additional PDF's that the readers can access through clicking on links in the newsletter, versus adding the entire form or PDF as an additional page in the newsletter. After clicking on the link I want the PDF's to open in a new document window. I want the entire thing to be accessible offline so the PDF's would need to be included in the newsletter when it is downloaded...is this called embedding?
Can anyone tell me how to do this?

When I email a newsletter as a pdf, the links don't work

I am creating a newsletter that I want to email out and I have some text linking to webpages. However, when I send it as a pdf, the links don't work. Do I need to send it as a Word document? I don't want to have to send a document that large. Is there anyway to keep my file size small (ie pdf) and have the links work?

Ah that is different.
It may be you are just seeing a preview of the pdf in the email, which is why the link is not working.
I would certainly not rely on people seeing even that. Most PC users do not see pdfs embedded in their email, just an attachment. Even Mac users see various results depending on how many pages the pdf contains.
I am working on newsletter emails for a client right now and the lack of standards and inconsistent results in email clients is extremely frustrating.

Adding web address link to Pages PDF Newsletter

I have created a newsletter to attach to bulk emails I send out for our store

Strange thing is once it is sent you can not click on the link for direct access to the site.
Does anyone out there have a clue as to how I can fix this issue?

Easy now -
When you want to hyperlink, you have to have a SOURCE in your page and a DESTINATION out there in abstract archival space.
First, with your cursor you click on your SOURCE, whether the source be the glyphs in a word or an illustration or image. Just as long as it is one or more objects in your pagination.
Second, with your link inspector open you
- select the command Enable as a hyperlink
- select the command Link to: Web page
- select URL: your universal resource identifier
You have now set up your SOURCE and DESTINATION, and if you save out to PDF through the first or the second path as explained previously, your hyperlink is enabled.
The principle in PDF is that features added in higher versions are hidden in PDF readers that support lower versions only, but PDF 1.3 was introduced a decade ago.
PDF 1.3 is the base version written and read by Apple Mac OS X.

Linking to specific place in newsletter

Hello:
I am trying to find out how to link from an email digest to a specific place in our newsletter. The newsletter page will have several stories on it, which can be read by scrolling down. I would like to email a digest with brief synopsis of the stories, which will link back to the exact story on the newsletter page, not just the newsletter page itself.

You could use anchors, then set the links to those specific anchors.
Unless I'm missing something.

Html email newsletter font tags link help

i'm trying to write an html email newsletter. i've discovered
the only way
it will work is if i use tables and font tags. the only
problem i'm having
right now is that i can't change my link colors. i've tried
css and the body
tags, neither work. the body tag i tried is:

yet the links still appear the default blue and visisted
links are purple.
does anyone know how to change the link colors using font

You can use the "Create Anonymous Link" option in Adobe Send to create a link to your PDF, which you can ten include in your newsletter. Please follow these steps:
Log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/send (if you don't already have an Acrobat.com account, you can sign up at the same link).
Click Select Files to Send.
Navigate to the PDF file that you want to link to, select it, and then click Choose.
Select Create Anonymous Link, and then click Create.
Copy the link and paste it into your newsletter.

This happened last month too. It seems to be related to length of the newsletter too. It works on every device except iPhones - so weird.

Hi, is anyone else experiencing i-phone only problems on email campaigns? not bashing Apple, just having issues where our newsletter are only having issues on iPhones

The back button is not available under certain circumstances when I use e-mail (looking at links from message) or in Facebook when I look at a link to a friend's status.

I get an e-mail message such as a newsletter that has several links. I look at one of the links and cannot use the back arrow to go back to the main e-mail. Another instance: I am on Facebook and I see a friend's status message that has a link. I look at the link, and I cannot use the back arrow to take me back to the Facebook main page. In both instances, I have to X out (close). I get a message that says "quit and save" or "quit." In either case it takes me out of Mozilla. I have just installed it and don't know if I am doing something wrong. What is happening? I don't want to have to close the program each time and start over again.

Do not install optional video graphics updates.
I was runnning into a similar problem with my HP product loan Envy Spectre 13 TouchSmart Ultrabook until I did the updates. I had upgraded my wireless router to a model with 802.11AC specification.
Invoke the Device Manager and ensure that the box next to Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power is unchecked.
