Newsstand problem

I subscribe to the Magic Magazine through the App Store and this gets downloaded to the newsstand. Recently though I have been unable to access the magazine when I am offline and when I attempt to it looks like the mag is about to open but then reverts back to the Newsstand screen.
As I don't have any other magazines in the newsstand I'm unsure whether it is a problem with Magic Mag or the newsstand itself. I have checked with a friend who also has it and he is still able to view it offline.
I've tried deleting it and reloading but still have the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly the same problem here. I notice that earlier issues will download fine. Perhaps it's a problem with this particular issue?

Newsstand Problem in iOS 7

I have a problem with Newsstand after upgrading to iOS 7. When I try to open a magazine a window pops up saying "Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications." When I dismiss the window it immediately pops up again, ad infinitum. I'm not able to escape through the Home button and have to reboot the iPad to get out. This only happens with half of the pubs in newsstand. Any suggestions?

Frankly, I don't know what's happening here, but is sure seems like it might be annoying.
Have you turned on Push Notifications for iTunes? Have you tried deactivating, then activating the Push Notification feature?

Newsstand problems using iOS 8

Having upgraded to iOS 8 I am unable to view any of the magazines in my Newsstand library. With some of them I have removed the magazine entirely from my library and then downloaded it again. I can then download previously purchased issues. This however has not worked with Bike magazine. I now get a warning telling me that my library cannot be updated. Very annoying, not least because none of these problems affected the Non Apple App Zinio. After installing iOS 8, issues previously purchased on Zinio were easy to download. Also with Zinio you get an email letting you know you have a new issue of a magazine you have subscribed to. This doesn't happen with Newsstand. It seems to me that Newsstand is an app that Apple don't care too much about, it's not even listed under iOS below! They certainly don't make it user friendly. Very unApple like.

Toggle the settings for Night View and for Auto Night Theme on and off and see if that fixes things.
If that doesn't work reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time of about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Newsstand problems

1. my icon in the newstand doesn't update - it says its active within itunesconnect, but I am still seeing last months issue. I can delete the app and install it again - and the correct cover updates - but thats not the point. Should this not be self-updating ??
2. Still no push notifications and I sent them out via the DPS dashboard ??
3. And still no "Blue New" sash across my icon in the newsstand ??
any ideas - this problem continues to frustrate me....

I haven't noticed that behavior, but I'll ask around. I probably won't get an answer back until after the Thanksgiving break we have here in the U.S.

Newsstand--problems downloading NY Times

I subscribe to the NY Times on line. Using iBrowse, the specialized mini-browser that NewsStand offers, I can read the Times, but each page loads individually and reading the whole paper it can take a while.
There is supposed to be a way to download the entire issue, which should make it faster to scan the Times, but when I try to download "iBrowse offline" software, I get an error message that reads:
Errors occurred during the installation.
JVM not found
I have the Java Cache Viewer, v. 11.4.0, in Applications/Utilities/Java/J2SE 5.0. I contacted NewsStand tech support but they offered no solution.
Any ideas?

Problem with newsstand for ipad

Hi there, I have been having a small problem with newsstand on my ipad.
I have a free copy of Jamie Oliver's magazine on there, which is fine.
However, now all I can view is this copy. I want to browse the shop for other copies of the magazine, or for a subscription option, but can't do this.
I had this browsing option before I downloaded the free copy, but now can't browse anywhere. I've gone back to the store, but can't do it in there either... it just seems to offer me the chance to re-open the app.
I can't work out how to browse the issues of Jamie's magazine.
Has it glitched, or am I being a noob?

Rodrigo, I had the same problem, I think what causes it is the spanish keyboard. I asume you are using it. Unfortunately what I had to do to fix was perform a full restore. the problem is that the issue will return if you enable the spanish keyboard again. I hope this helps you.

I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP! Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process. Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal. No flashing yellow screen anymore!!

Newsstand subscription problems

I have a problem with one of the subscriptions @ newsstand, the store won't connect. The funny thing is that there are no problems with other subscriptions or restoring the older issues of the same magazine bought before the subscription. I am looking for a way to contact apple so they could cancel the purchase 'cause I cannot use the subscription anyway. Anyone's got an e-mail address or something.
And yes, tried to reload and reinstall the app many times.

HT4943 problem with newsstand

I've upgraded my iPad to iOS 8.0.2 and I cannot open any of the magazines I purchased (and paid a lot of money for). I use these magazines frequently and need them for my work. When will this be fixed? Also youtube doesn't work.

I have same problem....pressing home doesn't work for me. Newsstand will not close unless I power off then on again. Very annoying! Any other ideas...?

TS1702 Problems with subscription in newsstand.

I've bought a subscription for a magazine through Newsstand and paid through apple store.
Received an invoice, so everything was looking normal.
IPC media sent a message in regards to my new subscription, that should show in my iPad shortly.
This all happened on the 7th November and after serveral emails to IPC Media and doing all what they suggested should check/do, nothing....
The application is showing in newsstand, but once I want to sign in, he says "authentication failed".
I've changed my password two times for this and received a message from the subscriber that it was successfull, however once I want to access it, again the same "authentication failed".
Please help with this, as IPC media claims not being able to help and telling me I have to contact Apple.
I am getting fustrated now with this, so much I am thinking to stop my subscription.
Please advise what to do.

Newsstand download problem

I bought the Mad Magazine subscription through newsstand on my iPad version3 . i have downloaded several issues with no problem.. My last issue Mad#517.. the download circle just keeps spinning and won't download..i can't stop it..it's been spinning for days.. How can this be fixed? Thanks for any help...

Go to the home screen and double tap the home button. Find the Mad Magazine icon in the task and tap and hold down it until it wiggles. Tap the red minus sign in the corner of the icon to close the app. Tap the screen above the task bar.
Restart the iPad and then launch the Mad Magazine app again. See if the download will complete.
If that doesn't help - reboot your iPad and then try the download again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Customer Subscription Problem - Newsstand

We received a complaint from a customer yesterday, saying that after purchasing a subscription in November (which we put on sale), the December issue, which should show up as Purchased, showed up with the Buy and Subscribe button instead. As a first time user, she clicked on buy, and was charged. We asked if perhaps there were multiple users signing in and out with their iTunes accounts on the iPad, and she said it was only hers.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? We looked at our back end and aside from the price, which we scheduled in iTunes Connect, we did not change anything else.

The increase in price lead to auto cancellation of the subscription. I am dealing with this offline.

Problems reading a newspaper in Newsstand

I subscribe to the Times and Sunday Times which I read from Newsstand. After setting up a new iPad Air, I can see the icon for the Times edition for today, and I can successfully read today's live feed! but I cannot open the newspaper or any of the associated editions. Similarly I can't open previous editions . I was able to read all of these using my old iPad 2, from which I restored the iPad Air.
I have tried closing the Newsstand app, rebooting the iPad, even turning round and counting to 3 but none of this works. Any clues please?

Have you tried deleting the publication app from newstand and re-downloading?

Newsstand update problem

I purchased tatler magazine app and bought the latest issues of the magazine last night. Unfortunately, when i download the latest issue, the error message has shown with "this issue is available for download but requires a newer version of the app". I checked with my apps and ios system, everything is updated with the latest version. I would like to know what's wrong with the app. I am able to download the latest issue from the iphone but not on ipad. could anyone please help?

Hi All, I have purchased a BBC top gear magazine subscription thru the App Store about 6 months ago. This bbc app is no longer available to download in Australia because of the Australian version of the mag now being available. Firstly the app symbol has completely disappeared from my ipad. I can still locate my original purchase in settings>newsstand and subscriptions updates are enabled. My second problem is I cannot download any new magazine editions because a message says I need to update the app. Since their is no app to update on my ipad and the app no longer exists/ is available in App Store Australia I'm kind of stuck. The app is available in the USA App Store but I cannot join because I'm not a resident of the us. Any help would be appreciated thanks Fassihire

I think your best bet here is to contact the app developer. Sounds like you need advanced troubleshooting that someone who is a part of the app would know best how to resolve. Best of luck.
