Next ADF Version?

Hello,
My company is currently on ADF 10g on Oracle App Server 10g. We are thinking about migrating to ADF 11g on Weblogic 11g. However, since ADF 11g is about 4 years old, does it make sense to wait for the next version of ADF and app server? Does anyone know when the next version of ADF is coming out?
Thanks in advance.
Colin

These post should help you give few more ideas.
Whats after JDeveloper 11? (Whats after JDeveloper 11? ) ** check out posts from Shay in the above post - probably makes sense for you to migrate to Jdev 11.1.2.x i.e. Jdev 11gR2 as of now as its supposedly going to be similar to 12c , but yeah no SOA / Webcenter in 11gr2

  • Adf version vs wls version

    Hi,
Anyone can help me to find the document on the compatibility of ADF 11.1.2.0 on WLS, OS, Browser, etc..?
What is the latest version of ADF that will work on WLS 10.3.5.0?
I am planning to update my 11.1.1.5 projects to later version but it should still run on WLS 10.3.5.0.
    Thanks in advance.

    Check this:

  • Want to upgrade iMac os x 10.5.8. suggestions as to what next best version I should go to?

Want to upgrade iMac os x 10.5.8. suggestions as to what next best version I should go to?

If it is a PPC iMac (G4 or G5) Leopard 10.5.8 is as far as it can go.
If an Intel iMac, read on:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:

  • Will there be a Windows Server Next Essentials Version?

I am trying to plan our IT budget for the coming year and those of my clients.  I have already prepared that there will be a new version of Exchange to install and manage, but I cannot seem to find any information as to whether or not there will be
a Windows Server Next Essentials Version available.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated (pricing would be WONDERFUL)
    Thanks,
    Bob Hessenauer

    Hi Bob:
Nothing is known at this time and nothing will be known until Microsoft makes it known.  I think if I were in your position I would plan on Server because, and this is a biggie:   If you are going to have Exchange you will need two servers
and Server gives you that for the cost of one license.  Or at least it does now.  As I just said, nothing is known until MS makes it known.  <g>.

  • What ADF version is compatible with FormsReports 11gR2 install?

    Hello everyone,
our customer has installed a vanilla FormsReports 11gR2.
This comes with a WLS 10.3.6 and JRF libraries.
They want to start with ADF development and they wondered what version of ADF is compatible with this FormsReports release?
The same question but differently formulated: how can you see what version of the JRF libraries are used? Looking at the version numbers in the deployment table of the WLS console is not conclusive.
Thank you very much in advance.

Because of issues with SSL, I need to prevent some deployments from upgrading to JDK1.6.>Launch you app. with webstart, and use webstart to point to the [earlier version|http://pscode.org/jws/version.html#earlier]. Note this this does not prevent the user from upgrading their Java, it just ensures that a suitable Java is available for the app. - so the user might end up with multiple versions of Java installed.

actually, joep, project marvel differs from portal in several respects. primarily, though, oracle portal is geared more towards content management whereas project marvel focuses more on application development.

  • JSE 6 needed for the next major version of the Mac SAPgui

Apple has a developers' preview version JSE 6, but they don't yet support it. Hence, the Mac version of the Java SAPgui doesn't yet use JSE 6, even though the Java SAPgui on other platforms does use JSE 6. It is likely that by the time of SAP's next major release of the Java SAPgui, Apple will support JSE 6 and the Mac SAPgui will require it.
Currently Apple's implementation of JSE 6 requires a 64-bit Intel processor running Leopard. If this remains true in Apple's final release of JSE 6, then the next major release of the Mac SAPgui won't run on any MacOS X prior to Leopard and won't run on PowerPC or 32-bit Intel based Macs even with Leopard.
I'm told that Sun has both 32-bit and 64-bit JSE 6 JVMs for Windows, for Linux, and for Solaris.
My organization (MIT) has submitted a bug report to Apple about this. It is possible that Apple might pay more attention if a number of their customers made a joint request.
If your organization would be interested in joining such a joint request to Apple to support JSE 6 on (at least) all supported Leopard platforms, please let me know.
    Thanks.

P.S. If you work for Apple and you think you might be able to help with this, please contact me.
    /David

Here is the current situation with respect to SAP's Mac JavaGui and
Apple's Java SE 6, as I understand it:
    a. The SAPgui for Java 7.20 is planned for the fourth quarter of
       calendar 2008.
    b. SAP's support for the SAPgui for Java 7.10 is planned to end on
       31-Dec-2008.
    c. The Mac SAPgui for Java 7.20 will be able to use Java SE 6.
    d. SAP has not yet decided whether the Mac SAPgui for Java 7.20 will
also be able to use an earlier version of Java (i.e. J2SE 5.0).
    e. Apple's Java SE 6 is only available for Mac OS X 10.5.2 and later
       on 64-bit Intel-based Macs (not PowerPC-based or 32-bit Intel-based
Macs). Apple has not mentioned any plans to support Java SE 6 on
any PowerPC-based or 32-bit Intel-based Macs or any Macs running
Tiger, although there is a possibility that Apple might announce
support for some of those platforms at their upcoming Worldwide
Developers Conference (June 9-13, 2008, in San Francisco).
    f. Sun has both 32-bit and 64-bit JSE 6 JVMs for Windows, for Linux,
       and for Solaris.
    g. The last PowerPC-based Macs (Power Mac G5) were sold in August 2006
and the last 32-bit Intel-based Macs (Mac mini) were sold in August
       2007.
    h. Assuming that the Mac SAPgui for Java 7.20 will require Java SE 6
and Apple doesn't extend their support of Java SE 6 to other
platforms, then as of 1-Jan-2009, you won't be able to run an
SAP-supported version of the Mac SAPgui for Java on PowerPc Macs
bought as recently as August 2006 or 32-bit Intel Macs bought as
recently as August 2007 or on any Macintosh running Tiger.

  • Can we 'test' a plugin or extension "BEFORE" upgrading FF? I have a password toolbar from Nortons that I love. Can I test the next FF version before installing?

Every time I up the FF version, I learn my nortons toolbar is not compatible. Then I have to UNinstall and resort to last version. Some time later, I learn the nortons toolbar will now work in the newest FF so I upgrade. When the new FF rev comes out, I go through it again. Is there a way to test toolbars before installing the newest FF?

Norton usually has an update available each new version of Firefox the same day (or next) that Mozilla releases a new version. Running a Norton Live Update after the new version of Firefox is installed usually solves Norton Toolbar compatibility issues.

    Filip Huysmans wrote:
... how can you see what version of the JRF libraries are used? ...The approach in the blog post "How to find the version of ADF libraries installed on WLS 11g" searches the contents of some JAR file.
A disadvantage could be that a wrong JAR file is searched (of a different installation for which the files are on the same file system) and also that you would need access to the file system where these JAR files are (which might not always be trivial).
Where "wrong JAR" refers to the difference between "installed" (as in the blog post) and "used" (as in your question).
To see what you really have available at run-time, an alternative approach could be to deploy ADFLibrariesVersionsApp.ear [1] and review the response you get from URLs like these:

  • When will the next Beta Version of  I-Tunes be released?

Just wondering if anyone knows when a new, "must download release or loose your ability to purchase, burn and play music" version be released. Trying to do some planning financially because I just know that I'll have a computer in the shop to be fixed again. IPOD's are a great piece of hardware. I just wished the software were equally good. Once we got past version 5, the programmers must of went on strike. The moderators shoul not take this as any reflection on their outstanding work. This issue starts at the top. But when you get that rich you must not care anymore.

Barbara, Like KAtrina I am at a bit of a loss on how to help you. There has never been a "beta" released for iTunes. Nor have the vast majority of folks had an issue with the new version of iTunes. Nor, I might add, is it likely that if your computer is in the shop (again) you will miss being able to download iTunes. Once a new version is posted, that is the one that is available until the next revision.
If you have an issue in particular that needs some help, do let us know. You've got two folks with more than a little knowledge about this application ready to help.
One thing I might note...you made it sound as though your computer spends a lot of time in the repair shop. If that is so, then any issue you are having with iTunes could likely stem from the underlying problem. Would you care for help looking at the symptoms so maybe you can get it fixed once and for all?
